[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_01]: We put together this agenda to actually give the Mariners offense some props, and they come out and play arguably three of their worst games of the season all in a row offensively.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, they did face two guys who may win the Cy Young over the last three games in Zach Wheeler and Tarek Skubal.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_03]: But the thing that's pissing me off the most is that Monday game.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Cater Montero?

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I watched that dude in Dayton.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought he was perfectly league average for high A two years ago.

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Why is he carving these dudes up on Monday night?

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's the one that kills me.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_03]: If you had lost two of your last three where Zach Wheeler and Tarek Skubal just blanked you, fine.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Again, they may be the league's two best pitchers this year.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_03]: They might both win the Cy Young.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_03]: But you've got to take advantage against the teams and the matchups that significantly favor you, especially at home.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_03]: And they made essentially a triple A pitcher and a triple A lineup look just leaps and bounds better than them.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And they looked way outmatched on Monday.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Monday's the game that's really driving me nuts.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I agree.

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And Tuesday.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, Tuesday.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I just went on a Monday.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_03]: It's fine.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: It's fine.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And you're right.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And to be honest, tonight's game on Wednesday, they did probably what they're supposed to against Tarek Skubal.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: They put one great swing on the ball and Cal Raleigh parked it, what, 427 into the pen.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you should do against Tarek Skubal.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you try and do the rest of your damage against the Tigers bullpen.

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, big shocker.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Did the Mariners do that?

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: No, they didn't.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners, in fact, here on Wednesday got two good swings on Tigers pitching.

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Both came from Cal Raleigh, one from each side of the plate.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_01]: One was a home run.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_01]: One should have been a home run.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It was over the wall.

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: But Parker Meadows, cap tip to you, sometimes that happens in baseball.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: He reels it in and makes the catch, and the Mariners can't score any more runs.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And they lose the baseball game.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: That sucks.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes, as an offense, that's going to happen to you.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_01]: But man, I mean, just the fact of, like, we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow on Thursday.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: And this episode's going to come out on Friday.

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_01]: But they have lost a series to the Tigers.

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, they built up this goodwill winning a series against one of the best teams in baseball.

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Finally.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_01]: It has been a month and a half since you've beaten a real baseball team in a three-game series.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And then they go around, and yeah, the Tigers record is fine.

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_01]: But if you take a look at this roster that the Tigers are rolling out there, I mean, holy crap.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_03]: So, just to give people some context, Jack Flaherty's no longer on the roster.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Most of you probably know that.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_03]: He was traded to the Dodgers.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_03]: So, that is an extra starting pitcher that has been very good this year that the Mariners don't have to phase.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Additionally, the Tigers' two best hitters are not playing.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Riley Green is on the IL, and Kerry Carpenter's been on the IL for weeks now.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_03]: So, you take those two out of the lineup, what do you get?

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_03]: A triple-A lineup.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yet, somehow, they have scored ten runs in the first two games against arguably the best staff in baseball.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be completely honest.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this Wednesday game was hyped up.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Look at this pitching matchup.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my God.

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Tarek Skubel and George Kirby, two of the best pitchers in the American League this year.

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Runs are going to be so hard to come by.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: My first batter of the game, this guy named, excuse me if I, I hope I get this right,

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_01]: when Seal Perez, who I have never heard of before.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, never, takes George Kirby deep.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sitting in their gym.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh, it's game over, isn't it?

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: It kind of was.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It kind of, technically, it was.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Mariners never got the lead.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_03]: They scored more than one run, but they never got the lead.

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_01]: this would be a rebuild year.

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_01]: It would be it would be Steve Cohen

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_01]: getting his finances under control

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_01]: and having a more, I would say,

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_01]: concentrated vision on the roster.

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's actually turned out well,

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_01]: a lot better than when the Mets

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_01]: actually tried last year and tried

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_01]: and epically failed and fell flat in

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Is that a more fair representation of

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a bad cap to 60 really good

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's the first series lost

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_02]: fan base to begin with in general.

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I think for Mets and Mets fans

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_02]: to like, hey, remember, we are still

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: the Mets.

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We're not a World Series contending

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_02]: team right now.
