00:00:00 Speaker 1: What episode number two ninety eight of the Marine Layer Podcast. The Murders play one of their best series in franchise history and sweep the Astros. They're three games up in the division, They're two games up for the number two seed. Their magic number is at three. The vibes are high, and we're gonna break it all down. 00:00:18 Speaker 2: Just before all that, just a reminder of you, guys, make sure you're staying on top of everything. Over at our website that's marine layerpod dot com. You can go get your merch sign up for our Patreon, you can check out our live show schedule. Belt two ass, belt to ask, belt to ass, belt to fucking ass. Let's go, dude. 00:01:12 Speaker 1: What we watched this weekend was two completely different classes of teams. There was one clear superior team on the field this weekend in Houston, and I'll tell you what for the first time in probably a decade, it was not the Houston Astros. 00:01:31 Speaker 2: There was a team there that. 00:01:32 Speaker 1: Deserved to win the division, and then there was another team there that certainly didn't deserve to win that division. 00:01:39 Speaker 2: I'm hyped. 00:01:39 Speaker 1: Everyone who the Maritors needed to show up showed up this week. The Astros played terribly, the home field advantage didn't matter, estoc paratus, Hail Mary didn't matter, and the Mariners come out in the best case scenario playoff position that they could be in. 00:01:56 Speaker 2: What a weekend. I mean, it was honestly perfect. 00:02:00 Speaker 1: There are other sports outcomes this weekend that were also fantastic, and the Mariners just cap it off. Man, Oh my god. 00:02:09 Speaker 2: This might be the greatest regular season series they've ever played. Is it crazy to say that? If not, it's in the top three. 00:02:17 Speaker 1: The only other competitions ninety five in two thousand and one, they were so far in first place there were no regular season series to play for like that, And in the other years that the Mariners have been in playoff contention, they've never come through. 00:02:32 Speaker 2: Never. 00:02:33 Speaker 1: They don't do this. They do not go into a series tied for first place and come out with a three game lead and dominate. They dominated that team. It was not a competition this weekend. The Mariners bullpen did their best to give the Astros some life. But man, what the Mariners did this weekend to the Houston Astros is essentially what Victor Roblist did to them on that last play on Saturday. He snatched their season away and waved goodbye. He said, thanks for showing up. You guys are not as good as we are. And I thought that was pretty clear, Like, seriously, the Astros have not played this version of the Mariners. The Astros have gotten the Donovan Solano, rowdy Tules Dylan Moore version of the Mariners with an injured starting rotation. They didn't get all five starters, They didn't get the additions in the lineup of Gino and Josh Naylor. They didn't get the minor additions in the bullpen either. And then what happened when a healthy Mariners team rolled up to face the tattered remains of the Houston Astros dynasty. It was a butt whoopin It wasn't even close. 00:03:41 Speaker 2: Where do we even want to start? Do we want to go chronological? Do we want to go by the things that just jumped out to us the most. I don't know where you want to start. I will say before we really dive into it, there wasn't really a series in ninety five that was like this. They collapsed and then all the sudden caught wind and got some life come playoff time, and in that game won sixty three against the Angels, which was only one game. They didn't really have a series like this in the regular season. Okay, now, so now I now again, we weren't alive in ninety five, but as two people who have watched plenty about that season, as far as I remember and as far as I can understand, there was never a series like this. 00:04:25 Speaker 1: So then you could say this is one of the five greatest series they've ever played in, behind the four playoff series in their franchise history that they've won. Correct, feels about right. One in ninety five, one in two thousand, one in two thousand and one, and one in twenty two. That's it. 00:04:44 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy. And Victor Roblaze's catch on Saturday maybe one of the five greatest plays in the history of the Mariners. 00:04:51 Speaker 1: That was fucking insane. He came out of nowhere. The swing of emotions. You see as Mooney is not having the cleanest inning in the world and he walks the battery, he hits a batter. Then Korea hits this perfectly placed little pop up. It looked like that that could swing the series, and it could. Who knows what happens lyle that drops the Astros walk off, and then they go into Sunday Night Baseball a chance to retake the division. And then the Mariners are the ones who have to buckle up during this week and go out and clinch a playoff spop because by the way, that Cleveland team does not stop winning. They don't, They've closed all the margin for error behind the Mariners. So the Mariners really had no choice but to go out there and win, and Victor Morblisz was not gonna let them lose on Saturday. That was insanity. The emotion you're watching it on the television, He's out of frame, out of frame, You're like, oh, that ball's dropping. The ball dropped. Games tied. 00:05:51 Speaker 2: No, it's kind of like what you just mentioned about how he snatched it right away. I almost think about it as the this could be a little niche, but it's a playoff game. So it shouldn't be when DK absolutely went off in that Eagles playoff game and he clinched it with that crazy catch when he leaped into the air, came came down with the ball, stealed the win, and then he looks up to the entire crowd in Philly and hits him with the peace sign, like go home. See the hell later. That's essentially what Victor roblaz did with that catch. He only just forgot to throw up the peace sign to all the Astros fans and say go your ass home. 00:06:27 Speaker 1: Sometimes Vic's aggressiveness comes back to bite him. I mean, we even saw the catch he had here on Saturday, another amazing catch, but Julio clearly had the ball and was calling for it in the right center gap, and did he like I said. 00:06:41 Speaker 2: You mean Sunday. I think he said Saturday. 00:06:42 Speaker 1: Oh sorry, Sunday. Yes, here on Sunday, like Robliss took Julio's ball away from him, and you can see Julio after his like like what the fuck is he doing? Why did he do that? But that aggressiveness was first of all, the arguably the reason he got hurt in San Francisco in the first week of the season and all the reason he just saved the Mariners season. It really is full circle for him. 00:07:06 Speaker 2: Crazy. I'll tell you what, I'm glad he was out there because the Mariners have deployed a lot of right fielders out there over the last couple of years that are not making that play. Could even be this year? Look, Dom can Zones had an unreal year. He's been such a massive contributor to this team. Is he making that play? No chance? Luke Rayley might be a pretty good athlete. Is he making that play? No chance? Could you imagine? I was even thinking all the way back to this if the Mariners had actually decided to let mich Haneger hang around on the roster all year, somehow, maybe he's out in right field. No, he's not making that play, but you get Roblays not only as one of your best athletes on the team playing next to Julio, which is it's really a center fielder playing right field, but you also have him out there. He's back healthy, fights all the way back after going through an absolute whirlwind of a year with the injury and the chucking the bat and finally getting back and then playing a few games and serving the suspension and then getting back on the field. Everything he's gone through and it leads to that that right there which saved the series. It may have saved the season. I called it franchise altering the other night. 00:08:15 Speaker 1: And it may go and win a World series. 00:08:17 Speaker 2: It is, yeah, because it totally just changed the guard in the AO West. 00:08:24 Speaker 1: And he also contributed with the bat. He had the home run. I mean, Victor Robless put his stamp on this series. There's so many stamps to go around for this, but because he saved the game, I think the first guy we rightfully talked about is Victor Robless, but he's certainly not the only one. Can I give a shout to the offense, Like the offense did not let the Astros breathe one bit in this series. Game one, they jump on him right away, first inning, Julia home run. Game two Saturday, cal rally breaks open the scoring with his fifty seventh home run in credible, amazing, and then JP Crawford here on Sunday put the nail straight into the Astros coffin. Alexander cruises through his first inning and then the Mariner's offense is like, yeah, no, we're not letting Jason Alexander shut us down, and then they knock him down, knock him out in the second inning and only let him get one out. I mean, just an incredible job of scoring early, making the Astros play catch up and knocking these starters around. Like, listen to these stat lines. Remember when I said I wasn't worried about these pitching matchups. Mariner's offense agreed with me. Hunter Brown made his way through six innings, but there were some times in that game where the Mariners were putting the pressure on him. Managed to get six innings, two runs. Framber, this is a tale's oldest time against the Mariners. He just cannot figure out. Doesn't matter what version of the Mariners lineup they put out, he cannot figure them out. Four and two thirds five runs on Saturday, and then Jason Alexander today and ending in a third seven. That is how you go out there and win a series. You put your foot on the gas and you don't pick it up. 00:10:07 Speaker 2: Crazy, And I was worried. I was worried about having to face those guys because those are two really good starting pitchers, and in big time games, especially with a guy like Franber that's been in those situations. Yeah, it's it's a tall task and they lived up to it. Every single person that had their doubts about it, including us, especially including me. I was a little nervous about going into Houston and facing those guys. Didn't matter. They they went out and they silenced everybody. They certainly silenced that crowd in Houston. 00:10:35 Speaker 1: The only Mariner who didn't have a big series with the bat I think was Randy, and that's because Randy was riding like an over twenty over twenty one. It was tough going for Randy, but everyone else. Cal has his two home runs, He's got a real chance at sixty three entering this final weekend. Like, just give our final week just give him a two home run game and then all of a sudden, watch out. Seriously, Aaron John, watch out. 00:11:01 Speaker 2: Well. Unfortunately for Cal, he's going up against Murderer's row of pitchers this week, so it maybe it may be tough for him to put any balls out of the yard. 00:11:08 Speaker 1: Do you have the probables in front of you? Uh? 00:11:12 Speaker 2: I do. Let's let's read him out. Oh you know what, Sorry, they haven't announced The Rockies haven't announced their starters yet for the series, so it's still TVD. 00:11:21 Speaker 1: Well, I'd say, your guess is it's somebody with an ear ray over six. 00:11:27 Speaker 2: Yeah, yep. 00:11:29 Speaker 1: Whether it's a big league or minor leaguer, I'll tell you what. So Cal's got his two home runs, He's got a real chance at sixty home runs, which again is crazier the closer he gets to it. You had Julia with a big offensive series, you had Polanka with a good offensive series. How about JP Crawford again with another huge moment during this stretch. And there was an earlier part of this summer that JP was ice cold at the plate. During this two week stretch, he's stepped up and he has just delivered. 00:12:02 Speaker 2: It's been awesome. He really seems to have a knack for the clutch moment. We've seen him come through lat in games, We've seen him come through in big situations. He just did it again this weekend. None bigger than the Grand Slam on Sunday. But it's funny for You're right, the ups and downs that he's had at different points of the year, the one constant through all of it seems to be he seems to find a way to just come through when it matters most. We saw it again this weekend. 00:12:30 Speaker 1: Yeah cool, So am I missing from the lineup? 00:12:33 Speaker 2: Well, let me say this about Randy, even though he was the one guy that's on a little bit of a cold streak right now, I'm not that worried about him. Number one, because he's such a great player. Number two, you know when he's gonna get hot during the postseason. Doesn't really matter to me. If Randy struggles during the Rocky Series this week, or maybe he has a ho hum series against the Dodgers. You know when he's gonna get hot when you need him the most, when the postseason picks up. That's when Randy's gonna get hot. Because Randy lives for those moments and he thrives in those moments. You don't need us to tell you what he did in twenty twenty. You've seen what he does in big moments in the past. Randy lives for that stuff. And if he's not hot before the end of the year, I would be pretty confident he's gonna get it going in the postseason. Oh, I'll give you another name, Gino. On Friday, Torch that. 00:13:19 Speaker 1: Homer up on the train tracks he overall had a good offensive series. So did Josh Naylor. Yes, why you build a deep lineup? 00:13:28 Speaker 2: Right? Naylor hit the home run Friday, the four solo homers on Friday. It was Julio and then it was Gino, and then it was Vic and then it was Naylor and that power of the four nothing win. 00:13:41 Speaker 1: You look at the lineup that the Astros are rolling out there across the way, and you look like and you say, that's why you able to deep lineup and be have them stay healthy, because it makes a difference in this series. Think about the injury situation of those two teams. The Astros had thirteen players on the injured list, and I don't think that counted Jordan, who was active but not on the injured list, even though he might not play the rest of the season. 00:14:08 Speaker 2: Wait, is he not on the IL? Is he not technically on the I. 00:14:11 Speaker 1: Didn't think he was on the IL. I don't think they've I just thought they didn't weren't clearing him to do baseball activities. I don't think they've I led him. 00:14:18 Speaker 2: No, he's he's on the IL. Yes, that sounds right, Yeah. 00:14:21 Speaker 1: Okay, So regardless, he wasn't there and he wasn't playing. The Mariner's only guy on the IL right now is Logan Evans, and Logan just he made a rehab start this week through an ending of a third, so he's working his way back. But the Mariners also have all five of their original starters back anyways, so that almost cancels out that i Els did. That's where that makes a big difference, I think. But overall, Man, you and they took advantage of it, which was the most important part. 00:14:54 Speaker 2: What else do we need to hit on in this series? There's the Brian Wu thing, which I don't know if we want to do now or later. 00:15:00 Speaker 1: We can save that for later. 00:15:01 Speaker 2: I was saying, there's more positives to hit on on this series before we talk about Wu. 00:15:05 Speaker 1: The starter's nails. 00:15:08 Speaker 2: Yeah, well that involves Wu. It just only involves five innings instead of seven or eight. 00:15:13 Speaker 1: Your other two starters, who have struggled on the road this season six innings each. It wasn't the cleanest and most dominant, but they both gave you a very good chance of winning. 00:15:25 Speaker 2: Both of them. Both of them went six and one. How much can you complain about in games that were essentially playoff games, George Kirby and Logan Gilbert both went six innings, giving up one ear and run and to your point, pitched well on the road, stepped up in a big way on the road and additionally when they were needed a third time through the order, which we have spent time on in the second half of the year talking about how when those two guys have gone the third time through this year they have run into problems. They power through all that this weekend. George Kirby and Logan Gilbert, third time through the order. You're right, it wasn't perfect, didn't need to be perfect, but they exit their start going six innings, one run and giving their team everything they had in a game where they absolutely needed it. Twice. Those guys absolutely delivered. 00:16:09 Speaker 1: I don't know how long how it took me this song to get to this. The leverage arms in the bullpen were money. They were awesome. You know what, guys, the four guys I'm gonna list off, Bizardo, Brash, Munnos and Gabe Spire were fucking nails and no reason they were able to sweep this series. 00:16:30 Speaker 2: And you know who we should start with those four it's Bizarto. Yeah, it's not Munno's in this series. It's not brash in this series, even though those guys did their job. Dude, it's Edward Bizardo, that guy. When Wu exits his start on Friday, he went and gave them two dominant innings in relief. There was plenty of bad vibes circling around that game at that point because you don't know the status of Brian Wu. You know, he leaves the game with a trainer. You start to worry about how things could unfold. Nah, Edward Bizardo steps into that game and just slams the door for two straight innings. Unreal. 00:17:07 Speaker 1: You and I were talking off recording and we were curious if they were going to manage the series truly like a playoff series. That on Friday was managed exactly like a playoff series. 00:17:16 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Now, I. 00:17:18 Speaker 1: Don't think in June they go Bizarto for two innings, but I think they understood the importance of that, especially given the magnitude of taking that first game. 00:17:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, now, Saturday and Sunday, I'm a little bit different, but you know what, there's the one. 00:17:33 Speaker 1: It was different, but that also was different because of rest purposes a little bit more because you had everyone fresh on Friday, Yeah, you did. But yet, yes, you're right. They did go to Carlos Vargas probably twice too many times during the weekend, which did not help. But literally the rest of the bullpen, besides Carlos Vargas was good. 00:17:55 Speaker 2: They were great. Ferguson struggle. Ferguson struggled on Sunday too, but still. 00:18:00 Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that's a fair point. Gabe on Saturday unreal, his really only moment of the series, and he comes in in a huge moment and you could tell Hugh was jacked up. He was thrown harder than he had thrown all season, gets that huge strikeout. Oh he blew it by it ninety eight on that strikeout. Yeah, he was pumped up, and you saw it on his facial reaction when he walked up the mountain. 00:18:24 Speaker 2: He is screaming. And look, Gabe has certain points in the year where he'll get really fired up, and there's certain points where I think he's more even key old, or at least he keeps it internal if he's not even earlier in the week. Yeah, not on not on Saturday. He let it all out for every good reason. 00:18:42 Speaker 1: Earlier in the week, I saw people tweeting wondering if Gabe was tired because he was throwing ninety three. Yeah, I don't think he was tired when I watched him on Saturday. 00:18:50 Speaker 2: No. And then he talks about postgame how that was the most electric clubhouse postgame after any game he's ever been in. That was pretty cool, I'd hope. 00:18:59 Speaker 1: So yeah, a lot of things to be excited about. Goodness, What else? 00:19:04 Speaker 2: Can I just leave a note here on Gabe Spire? And again, this is all supposed to be positive, and it is positive because I'm gonna spin this positively about Gabespire, But I just do want to get this little PSA out into the universe for anybody that might be listening to this. Why exactly do they treat Gabe Spire like he can't pitch to a right handed hitter. I don't get it one bit. I know he's better against lefties, and that just speaks to the overall year he's had. But you're talking about a guy that's given up about a six hundred ops to righty's on the ear and a four to eighty ops to lefties. Why can't he throw against righty's? Carlos Vargas is ops against righties this year is about three hundred points higher than what Gab Spiers is. 00:19:47 Speaker 1: I don't have an answer to that question, and it's especially puzzling because they have another lefty in the bullpen for a specific lefty appearance if you need it, I don't know, and especially against the Astra, who are very right hand heavy. There's no yord On in that lineup anymore, the ultimate left handed hitter for Gabe to get out, so that leaves like in the last time the Mariners were in Houston, Gabe didn't pitch at all because there's so many righties stacked in that lineup. I'm glad they got him in when they could in this series, but it was apparent that there were some leverage outs that needed to be had, and Gab only got one of them. 00:20:27 Speaker 2: He faced one batter the whole series. I'll just say it, one hundred out of one hundred times in the slot where Carlos Vargas threw. I'm going with Gabe Spire and I'm not thinking about it. If he is rested and he's healthy, it's not a thought. I don't care about lefty righty, especially when he's proven that he can get right. He's out. I'm going with game Spire. 00:20:45 Speaker 1: I'm with you. Anything else we're not highlighting. I feel like we've got most of the storylines out of the way, just besides the fact, man, you and I, this is probably the second happiest right now we've been as Mariners fans, just on a personal life, aside from the clinch, aside from twenty twenty two. Yeah, when they clinched and broke the drought. I think right now that is the happiest I've been. That we can combine that in the Toronto series together. Was it within a week of each other. That's about as happy as I've ever been as a Mariner fan. Besides that, oh, when Roblist makes that catch and the realization sets in that you're gonna win the series and you're gonna exit the weekend with the West lead, with the Rockies coming into town, and just looking how these two teams match up on paper, Like, how can how can you not feel as good as you felt in twenty five years? Besides twenty two. 00:21:39 Speaker 2: It's impossible, It's impossible. I don't know how much in depth analysis I can give you on that other than it is you just slayed the dragon that's been sitting atop the ao wes for almost a decade. You went into their house, into their dungeon, and you slayed the dragon, and you did so in absolutely dominating fashion, which, by the way, the capitol all of it. Was it not pretty fitting that that series ended by punching out Jose Altuve, of all people. Wasn't Zach Cole. It wasn't even Esak Predes, who's new to the team, you know, it wasn't Jake Myers to punch out Jose Altuve and that series? Does that not feel pretty metaphoric? Does that not feel like it has some symbolism? Does it not feel like that's a passing of the torch in some sort? When I watched that, I said, that's a pretty cool cherry on top to this whole weekend. 00:22:30 Speaker 1: It does. But you have to go win something. You need to make the CS. You have to at least you can't just bow out in the first round, because what happens if the Astros make the third wild card and go farther in the playoffs than you, then who's laughing? 00:22:46 Speaker 2: Well, then yeah, that's not a great look. 00:22:48 Speaker 1: One hundred percent think about it in twenty twenty three, Like, do you think the Astros were happy about this that they won the Division over the Rangers? Yet it was the Rangers who beat them at home in the Championship Series and then won the DF then won the World Series. 00:23:02 Speaker 2: Well, no, right. 00:23:05 Speaker 1: And those two arrivals. Definite, there's some some heat there. It all depends on how the Mariners finished this season. Then I could say absolutely, it's metaphoric Hosey L. Twove handing the baton to the Mariners. You don't have to win the World Series. I'd love them to win the World Series, but for that baton to be passed, make an appearance in the ALCS or in the World Series, then I will. 00:23:28 Speaker 2: Say it's past. Yeah, I can buy that. But for the time being and for what this series currently stands for, in that moment, it felt pretty metaphoric to me that again, it wasn't Paina, it wasn't Again, it wasn't Myers, it wasn't Coal, it wasn't. 00:23:46 Speaker 1: Col still managed to homer this series. 00:23:49 Speaker 2: He did manage to Homer. But again, like and Payne is a great player. But when you think of this regime at the Houston Astros, it's Altuve, it's Korea. You could add Break and Springer and some of those other guys into that if you wanted to too. But the main guy, the one that sticks out like a sore thumb, Jose Altuve, that's who you punch out to end this thing. I thought that was a pretty cool cherry on top. 00:24:12 Speaker 1: Well, let's hope they do something with it and they make it worth it for us. I think this is a good transition into this because while everything else to the Mariners fell into place this weekend to make it that much more sweet and set the Mariners up to make that deep playoff run. I hope everyone's looking at the standings this morning when you hear this and it comes out on Monday. Not only do the Mariners now have a three game lead in the American League West, they now have a two game lead over the Detroit Tigers for the number two seed in the American League. They can clinch not only the American League West, but they can clinch that number two seed with their magic number being at three heading into the Rockies series. How about that they could. All they need to do is sweep the worst team in baseball. One of probably the ten worst teams of all time that have ever been fielded in this great league. And they will be they will have a buye, they'll get a week off, and they'll clinch a postseason spot. And then you and I lile, we have a relaxing weekend. From an emotional standpoint, We'll still be at the park. 00:25:18 Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll still be at the park. But oh, that'll be great. I was gonna say, Mariners can relax. You could get guys some days off. You could get Cal off his feet. You could have your starters go three innings so you don't have to tax them. You could do a lot of different things and get guys rest and get people off their feet. Because when you say basically a week off, if they were to clinch during the Rocky Series, let's say it's on that Thursday where they get the number two seed, you don't have to do much of anything against the Dodgers. And then if you don't have to do much against the Dodgers followed by not playing in the wildcard round, that's a little over a week off because the first time the Marrors would play a game again would be that following Saturday. So you get over a week, and I think. 00:25:57 Speaker 1: The Dodgers might not have a thing to play for either. Maybe they just forfeit. 00:26:03 Speaker 2: That would be actually hilarious if both teams like, yeah, we don't want to be here today. 00:26:07 Speaker 1: The Dodgers are three games up on the Padres in the National League West right now, and they are and there's no chance at them getting a bye. The Phillies and Brewers are pretty sizably ahead of the like there's a chance of the Phillies collapse this week, but they have a four game lead on the Dodgers for the number two seed in the National League, so that could all be wrapped up by the time they head to Seattle for the final weekend. Also, there's a chance neither of these teams really are doing anything besides sending Clayton Kershaw off. 00:26:40 Speaker 2: Also, yes, the Dodgers are currently four games back of the Phillies, so a collapses possible. But ask me who the Phillies are playing this week. 00:26:50 Speaker 1: Are the Phillies also playing the Rockies? 00:26:52 Speaker 2: No, but they are playing the Marlins and then the Twins. 00:26:58 Speaker 1: Dodgers are not passing the Phillies. 00:27:00 Speaker 2: No, no, So if the Dodgers lock up the NLS. There's not gonna be much for them to play for either, so might. 00:27:07 Speaker 1: That works out very well for the Mariners, but it was. It's not just the two seed that works out for them as well. Texas got swept over the weekend by the Marlins. They're completely out of it. Mariners took care of business against the Astros, so that puts them right on the outside looking in or not. I guess technically right now on the outside looking into the playoff picture, because the Astros and Guardians both have the same record in Cleveland has the tiebreaker over Houston. So now you have those two teams that would battle out for that final spot. Right now, what else do you are you taking away from looking at this playoff picture? 00:27:44 Speaker 2: I guess just who the Mariners could face if they stick in that two seed, and right now, it would be the winner of either the Tigers slash Guardians. Honestly, there's a chance the Tigers and the Guardians will have played six times two weeks and then they play again in the first round of the playoffs in the wildcard series. There's a chance that happens and the Mariners play the winner of that series. 00:28:07 Speaker 1: So the yeah, the conundrum there in right now is that so Cleveland is a game behind Detroit. So yeah, Cleveland's a game behind Detroit. But Cleveland right now holds the number six, the number six seed aka the third wild card. Detroit holds the three seed. Cleveland passes Detroit, then Cleveland gets the three seed and Detroit gets the sixth seed, and they would still play each other, it just switch venue at this moment. 00:28:35 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what we're watching at this point. 00:28:39 Speaker 1: In the Red Sox, who also did not have a good weekend. They lost again tonight to the Rays. So there's gonna be the There are gonna be three teams fighting for the final two spots, but I don't think it's the three teams we envision it could it could end up being the Red Sox, Astros, and Tigers instead of the Mariners, the Mariners, Rangers and who else was it? It was like Yankees slash Red Sox, right but now instead it's gonna be those three teams. 00:29:11 Speaker 2: Yeah. Also for his adrenaline pumping, as that series was all weekend for the Mariners. If anybody needs a day to relax here on Monday, you're gonna get it because there's nothing for anybody to sweat out. On Monday, there are three games going on in Major League Baseball and all three of them are National League games. So people have a nice relaxing Monday, and Tuesday will be back at it. Mariners will be playing the Rockies, and you're gonna be scoreboard watching across the league, especially what the Tigers and Guardians are doing. 00:29:39 Speaker 1: So here's the upcoming schedule for all the teams that the Mariners need to either win or lose. So the Mariner's upcoming schedule this week, three versus the Rockies, three versus the Dodgers. Tigers have three at Cleveland and then three at Boston. I don't know. I don't know how the Tigers are gonna make it. Have been awful the last two weeks. They've been atrocious. 00:30:05 Speaker 2: And this is an epic collapse. They have blown an eight game lead in ten days. 00:30:11 Speaker 1: Last month, they were fifteen and a half games up on the Guardians. 00:30:17 Speaker 2: Fifteen and a half. 00:30:18 Speaker 1: The Guardians sold at the deadline. This is almost like the reverse of what happened last year with the Tigers. Tigers seld the deadline, make this crazy run of the postseason, and now it's Cleveland's Stern Cleveland traded Shane Bieber. I know that's and they might have to face him in the postseason at some point, So the Tiger's schedule is not easy. This week. Guardians schedule three at home against Detroit and three at home against Texas. Astros get three at the A's and three at the Angels. Red Sox get three at the Blue Jays, which is going to be brutal, and then three against the Tigers. Like there's a chance this actually kind of works out for the Astros. Unfortunately, given that they get three against each of two teams, they can beat the A's being the better one, but the Red Sox playing the Blue Jays like the Blue Jays are still I still think need to clinch the number one seed. So the Blue Jays right now have a three game lead on the one seed. Not totally out of the cards for the Mariners. Unlikely, but not totally out of the cards. The Mariners would need to make up four games in six four games in the six games they were play remaining, which is gonna be very tricky, but the Red Sox have that tough series. The Tigers or the Guardians are gonna have a tough series this week, given they play each other and then the Astros don't, so that could goodly to a whole lot of interesting things. I'll tell you what. The Mariners, though, they don't have to worry about shit in the middle of the week. 00:31:48 Speaker 2: Just beat the pathetic Rockies. That's all you have to do. 00:31:53 Speaker 1: Let's walk through the math with the magic numbers so people understand it. So the Mariner's magic number is three for both the division and the number two seed. The Division one is pretty easy. They need three combined wins from themselves and losses by the Astros. That might but with the the Maritors having the tiebreaker, well the numbers three, the tiebreaker allows them to win by default, so it's almost two essentially. 00:32:26 Speaker 2: Right, we'll call it three right now. With three to win the West, three to get into the playoffs, it's about the same. 00:32:32 Speaker 1: And then the same goes for the number two seed, but that require that requires the Tigers losing, and then for the playoff picture, it requires the last team out, So that's what you have to pay attention to. Let's try not to over complicate things, because we were trying to talk through it before we started recording and it was. It was the math was getting a little confusing. But the numbers three for both that's what you need to pay attention for. 00:32:54 Speaker 2: I know we're getting a little ahead of ourselves, but I'll just throw the hypothetical out while we're sitting and talking about it. Who would you rather face if you're the Mariners in the playoffs between the Tigers and Guardians. I present it like this, and I'll give the reasoning for both sides. Tigers. The positive for the Mariners is they're absolutely free, free falling and playing terrible baseball at the wrong time. The other side to it is you would have to face Terek Scooble twice to play the Guardians. The positive for the Mariners is they don't really have an ace. But the other side do it is you know, they're insanely pesky and they're peaking at the right time. I would rather play the Tigers, even having a face Schooble twice in a five game series. 00:33:35 Speaker 1: Because you have the lineup and pitching to back it up. Yeah, do you I the Guardians and Mariners on like a clash course. Do you know how many runs the Guardians have given up during this run? Let me go find the tweet's. 00:33:49 Speaker 2: I want to. I want to say, it's like ten. 00:33:51 Speaker 1: It is half as much as every other team in baseball during this stretch they're on. I'll find it if you give me like one second. But if we're talking about like scoring runs against a playoff team, the Guardians are not the team you want to play during that Where is it? 00:34:06 Speaker 2: While you look, I did realize we saw here. 00:34:10 Speaker 1: It is here. It is last eighteen games allowed. Give me a guess, Matt, how many runs the Guardians have allowed? 00:34:15 Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure I saw the same tweet. It was ten twenty eight. Oh, then I was looking at a different tweet. 00:34:21 Speaker 1: Okay, do you want to know the next closest team. The Cubs have given up sixty five runs. I'd rather play the Tigers because guess what, You're gonna get games where Terror Schooble doesn't. 00:34:33 Speaker 2: Pitch, but you might get two where he does. 00:34:38 Speaker 1: I'll live with it, because guess what. If you play the Guardians, you get five games against the team that gave up twenty eight runs. Twenty eight runs in eighteen games. 00:34:50 Speaker 2: That is less than two runs per game. That's fair. And again, they are such a pesky team. And they're impossible to put away, and they're hard to strike out, and they don't go away. They don't have Emmanuel Klasse though, No they don't. 00:35:04 Speaker 1: If he was maybe a little bit more responsible, then he gonna get on this postseason roster. But O Lole, you're right, he is not on that roster. 00:35:13 Speaker 2: No, he's not. I just realized we somehow forgot one Mariner storyline from this series. I don't know how we did it, but we'll do it now. Cal Raley hit another homer. He hit his fifty eighth homer. 00:35:24 Speaker 1: Nuts he's gonna need to break Judge's record. He needs five in the final six games. 00:35:31 Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, we briefly talked about Cal having a chance to go hit against the Rockies briefly, but just to actually boldly highlight this storyline, he hit home run number fifty eight of his season. It doesn't break any records with this one, but it gets him closer to sixty, gets him closer to Maris, it gets him closer to Judge Man. 00:35:52 Speaker 1: I would love for him to break Aaron Judge's record, But even if he gets to sixty, just think of the names he's up there with. The player ever to hit sixty home runs in a season all time are Aaron Judge, Roger Marris, Babe Ruth Sammy Sosa, Mark McGuire, Barry Bonds. That's it. 00:36:17 Speaker 2: I know those are the only ones. 00:36:20 Speaker 1: That's crazy, And it could be Cal Rawley could pass some other incredible names that got stuck. I fIF you know not John Carlos Stanton got this close to sixty, this close, didn't quite get there. Then there's a few others too. You gotta go fifty eight. 00:36:38 Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's gonna be a real conundrum that final weekend against the Dodgers. If the Mariners clinched their playoff spot, they clinched the West, they clinched the two seed. Is what do you do with Cal in that final weekend. Let's say he hits two or three homers in the Rocky Series, because you have to balance making sure he's as rested as humanly possible for the playoffs and the people that are gonna be screaming for him to get every possible at bat to try and break this record. 00:37:05 Speaker 1: I just dhm all three games. 00:37:07 Speaker 2: You could do that. 00:37:09 Speaker 1: Harry Ford can catch all three games against the Dodgers, great practice for him. 00:37:13 Speaker 2: And Garver two and Garver. 00:37:15 Speaker 1: Yeah, you can mix the two of them. Cal doesn't have to catch a single game that series. That's perfectly fine with me. But I think Cal's not gonna admit it, But I think he would want the record. If he hits three in the Rocky series and he's sitting at sixty one and during the Dodgers series, yeah, he's gonna want to play. They're not sitting him. Aaron Judge and the Yankees that final series in twenty twenty two are clinched. Dude, Air Judge did not have to play in that series. 00:37:42 Speaker 2: Yeah, I would love love to peek into Cal Raley's brain because we see all the answers he gives with this stuff, and they're the right answers that team first, don't make it about me, it's about winning it all, and you know what, he genuinely does believe that. So I'm not dismissing that any means. College is by every sense a team first guy, and everybody knows that. You guys listening all know that. But it's human nature. You can't tell me that he would not want to go break that record if he's that close in the final weekend TJ's right. He won't say a word about it out loud nowhere in the media, but in his head he's thinking about it. Of course he's thinking about it. If I was in his position, I'd try to go up there with a metal bat if it was up to me. I think. 00:38:31 Speaker 1: He's not thinking, well, he's probably not thinking about the MVP specifically, he's not probably thinking more about the record. But I've continued to say, we both continued to say breaking Aaron Judges record is the ultimate card in winning this American League MVP? Are the voters really going to turn him down if he breaks Judges record, even if he. 00:38:50 Speaker 2: Gets to sixty, I think it gets to be a real serious conversation, even more than it already is. Right now, they're tight. 00:38:57 Speaker 1: Like you're tight in Warren. He has sixty homers. Yeah, it's like, all right, we're talking about value. The value seems pretty high. Col's story is better, his team is better. People like a good storyline. 00:39:15 Speaker 2: And again he's a catcher. Judge. The last two months has basically been a DH. 00:39:22 Speaker 1: Let's hope, So let's hope the Rockies throw the best there is out there. 00:39:27 Speaker 2: Again. Now that we're right ahead, of the Rocky Series. I think we've done this a couple of times, but just for shits and gigs, you want to read through these ras for everybody while it's now relevant as they're gonna get set to play the Rockies this week. Let's run through. There are six qualified starters here. You roll out with Kyle Freeland, who has posted an absolutely menacing four and sixteen record on the year. Yes, pitcher wins don't matter, but saying that out loud is hilarious. He leads all of baseball and losses. He's sitting at a five to fourteen ERA. They're dominant ACE and South Park. Kyle Freeland running out of five to fourteen ERA with a one four six whip that's the race. 00:40:06 Speaker 1: He Yeah, that's a team best era. If that wasn't clear enough for Lyle you it is. 00:40:12 Speaker 2: You then go to Antonio Senzatela at they're number two and there. I mean, I don't know if he's their number two starter, that's just where they list him. Senstela has a six' eight FOUR era on the. Year that is six eight. Four Herman marquez is in the number three spot at a six four NINE era on the. Year, yeah six four. 00:40:34 Speaker 1: Nine do you remember When Herman marquez was, Good. 00:40:37 Speaker 2: Remember when he was being floated out there as a trade chip and people were floating out absurd packages for the. 00:40:42 Speaker 1: Guy they should have traded. 00:40:44 Speaker 2: Him i'll tell you. That, yeah they should have traded. Him Chase dolander comes in after. That now he's got a six five TWO. Era it's a little, skewed And dolander maybe the one guy where if The mariners face, him he could give them. Something AND i mean and he could give The rockies some real length and some real, production because these have to be the most insane home road. Splits in all of These. 00:41:09 Speaker 1: I'm looking at the same thing you. Are it's. 00:41:11 Speaker 2: Bonkers are our friends over on The Just Baseball, Show we're just talking about this the other day and then you look at it right in front of your. Face it's. Crazy Chase, DOLANDER i know he's only a, rookie but this feels like a guy where the second he has the ability to get the hell out Of, colorado he's leaving because away from Coors, field he's actually been very. Good he's got a three four SIX era on the year as a, rookie and this is a guy with again huge, stuff was a star At, tennessee was drafted in the top, five and away from Coors field he's really good again three four era at Coors, Field, well that would be a nine to nine to eight era he has at home in twenty twenty. Five so if The mariners Get dolander in this, series that could be the one starter who might give them some. Trouble and then the key there is, might it's not for, sure. 00:42:01 Speaker 1: And i'll. 00:42:04 Speaker 2: That is more than a run per. 00:42:06 Speaker 1: Inning his whip is almost. 00:42:08 Speaker 2: Two, now now let's keep. Going there's still two other starters we got to hit here who The amerigs can. See there's Then Tanner gordon with AN era eight flat six over fourteen, starts and we'll close it out With Austin, gomber who The maritics have crushed in the, past who has a seven four nine. Er actually has he even still on The rockies or did they cut? Him let's say he. 00:42:33 Speaker 1: Is, oh he's in a he's a. 00:42:34 Speaker 2: Cub, yeah, okay so he's. Gone. 00:42:38 Speaker 1: Well their bullpen has actually had some solid run prevention this. Year the problem is they haven't had many leads to hold on. 00:42:45 Speaker 2: To Oh i'm, sorry DOG i forgot somebody. Else H then you get To Bradley, blaylock who AGAIN i guess With gomber, gone somebody else has had to make some starts this. Year he has made eleven starts and he has a nine to one six er on the, dude how is this? Possible how can you be this? 00:43:05 Speaker 1: AWFUL i think it's just as amazing that despite those starter, eras they have two relievers with AN era under. 00:43:15 Speaker 2: Three, yeah it'll. 00:43:18 Speaker 1: Surprising Jimmy hergan has a two to six to ONE. Era this year's worth nearly three. Wins but the problem is The rockies don't hand their bullpen a lot of leads, because on top of the fact they have the worst pitching staff in, baseball they, also, somehow despite playing in course, field have the worst offense in baseball as. 00:43:35 Speaker 2: Well there's zero excuse to not sweep this, series even if Do lander, pitches zero excuse to not. 00:43:42 Speaker 1: SWEEP i don't care If Jonathan diaz starts all three games of this series of The, mariners they should. Sweep that's what you did to The astros arms this weekend Against Hunter brown and To. FRAMBER i, mean come, on they should score at least six runs a. 00:43:58 Speaker 2: Game, yeah you got you. 00:44:00 Speaker 1: Gotta there's also not there's not a bat really in This rockies lineup that scares. You Ezekiel, tovar who is probably the most talented player they, have has a six to ninety FIVE ops playing, course. 00:44:15 Speaker 2: The one bat would Be Hunter. 00:44:16 Speaker 1: Goodman, yes, OKAY i forgot to mention. Him Hunter goodman's been really good this year behind the. Plate he's been one of the best offensive catchers up there with cal in the whole. League but the rest of this, team, MAN i mean the fact you have a TEAM ops of six 't eighty five and you play that's not park adjusted playing In Coors field is. Incredible. Mariners she won every game by six. 00:44:38 Speaker 2: Runs Has Chris bryant can't be, healthy, Right, no he's still on the EYEL i just looked what a. Contract he's played eleven games this. 00:44:48 Speaker 1: Year that's that's not. Good, No so we're not gonna get to hear our Friends Scottie gaines sing The rockies won a. 00:44:56 Speaker 2: Game, uh if The mariners, lose we might have to tweet it out of just. Pity, yeah. 00:45:07 Speaker 1: So just like The mets, series, maybe, uh the win tweet should Be Scotti's scotty's. 00:45:15 Speaker 3: Video yeah, maybe, Man, okay you want to spend a couple of minutes here On Brian wu and then we can spend a couple of minutes on Our Savannah banana's experience and wrap it. 00:45:27 Speaker 1: Up sure sounds like everything's okay For Brian. Wu it's peck, soreness so that's why he was. Removed he got AN. Mri they, said minor, inflammation which was. Good doesn't they don't anticipate in il, stint which is also. Good still to be, determined, Though lyyle if he's gonna make another start in the regular season or if they just skip, it WHICH i think both are possible at this, point especially given the. 00:45:51 Speaker 2: Opponent if The mariners had lost two to three to The, astros or even if they had won two of three and lost, ONE i might be itching a little bit more to See Brian wu pitch if he's, healthy to put The mariners in the best possible. Position but now that they're in this, POSITION i feel like they can probably afford to just let him skip that. Start call Up Jonathan, diaz let him throw a few, innings staff at the rest of the way with a bullpen, game and then Have wu ready to go once the playoffs, start because then you essentially Give Brian wu for an injury that is supposed to be pretty minor and not extremely, significant about two weeks. Off that seems like that would do a lot of dividends For Brian, wu where you don't have to put him on the, il you don't have to you don't have to rush him back before he needs to be rushed. Back, now if they end up playing in a wildcard series and don't get the two, seed this could become a different story in what you do With. Wu but even in that, situation he'd have about a week and a half. Off so, look if he's one hundred percent healthy and he feels fine to make The rocky, start The mariner's medical team is going to know a lot better than us just sitting. Here but us just sitting here trying to, gauge it doesn't seem like the worst idea to Let wu just, rest especially because he's supposed to throw the final game of That rocky. Series so if you're already looking ahead and then you see all of a sudden The mariners have won the first two in that, series all the more reason you can look and, SAY i think we could survive One rockies game without him for five six. 00:47:24 Speaker 1: Innings if The mariners won the first two of The Rocky, series there's a pretty high chance The mariners have already clinched the division at that. Point if, so Does brian need to pitch like everything's locked? Up, well everything but the, bye everything except the. Buye but even that the bye could be within a game of getting locked up at that. 00:47:46 Speaker 2: Point, yeah maybe the magic number would be one or two with three to, go. 00:47:50 Speaker 1: Which The mariners would be, Like i'm sure we're gonna get a game at some. Point and, like like we pointed out before we started recording, here that final game of The Rocky series IS i believe also going to coincide with the final game of The Guardians tigers. Series so like someone's gonna lose in that no matter, what especially if Say cleveland wins the first, two jumps behind The maritors and leads The American League, central but then The tigers win that finale and Then cleveland, loses and then that's the loss you need and your game might not even matter mm. Hm So i'm not too worried about. IT i honestly think they're just gonna skip his. START i think this week and this, weekend what you just did To houston and the amount of cushion you gave yourselves has afforded you to essentially Give Brian wu two weeks off before starting a division series after the, buye AND i think that works out. Great he'll be. 00:48:45 Speaker 2: Healthy we're a hell of a lot more common about this now than we were On friday during The Savannah bananas. GAME i gotta tell you, What so we're gonna put a vlogout On. Tuesday it's recapping our Whole Savannah banana's experience throughout that entire. Day but throughout it, all we're weaving in us and live reacting to all The Mariners friday night action against The astros because we combined it all together and, us just like a lot of people in that ballpark that, night were. Multitasking oh when we Watched BRIAN wu come out of the game with the trainer and before we knew what the diagnosis, WAS i, Mean i'll speak for. MYSELF i was ready to just about. MELTDOWN i was in a bad headspace just thinking about the. 00:49:26 Speaker 1: Scenario game one against The, astros biggest series of our lifetime in the regular, Season Brian wou's. Cruising you look like you're about to walk your way to victory In game, one and then the worst possible thing, Happens like the one thing The mariners cannot have happen Is Brian wu getting. Hurt who's been the most durable guy in that. Rotation it has been the best picture in that. Rotation if they want to, win they need, him and he exits the. Game but thankfully everything sounds good for the most. 00:49:55 Speaker 2: Part you will see it in the vlog we post On. Tuesday you gotta remember that Is Ring friday, evening when we don't have all the information. Yet you are seeing live reaction in real, time And i'll tell you. What you can see it all in my face and through my. Words you'll you'll hear. IT i, WAS i was very, nervous And i'm pretty much freaking out. Now i'm glad it ended up being. Okay CAN i we tweeted this the other? Day CAN i give basically a live audio reaction To mariners fans living through The Brian wu injury experience for twenty four? Hours? SURE i tweeted this the other. Day this is A this is a big cat from pardon my take who we're a big fan. Of this is essentially what Every mariner fan watched From friday evening To saturday afternoon when they, said, oh he doesn't need to go on the, il the injury's, minor he should be. Okay this is this is Essentially mariners fans over that twenty four hours watching everything. Unfold Oh i'm. Dead found fucking, Tick i'm. Dead i'm a fucking dead. Person i'm. Tick oh you so wucking dan accurate feels pretty, accurate pretty. 00:51:10 Speaker 1: Accurate by the end of The bananas, game we were feeling, okay. 00:51:13 Speaker 2: Yeah because everything had calmed down a little bit where they said all, right they said minor packed, tightness AND i was, like all, right that doesn't sound so. Awful it wasn't his. Arm it wasn't his, shoulder so that was a lot. Better we didn't know what it was when he when he asked, that we were worried it was his. 00:51:27 Speaker 1: Arm, Yeah so that's good to, uh good to see For. Brian we'll keep an eye on that this week and hopefully we'll have something to talk about For wednesday's. Podcasts on an update on whether or. Not he is gonna picture it, out so we'll see. There and The maritors cannot clinch By wednesday's, podcasts but they could clinch By friday's. Podcast so. 00:51:46 Speaker 2: It's almost certain. 00:51:46 Speaker 1: They're gonna clinch By friday's. Podcast So i'm gonna want to listen. 00:51:50 Speaker 2: To i'm gonna knock On wood just because you said. That but, yeah, yeah, hope let's. 00:51:55 Speaker 1: Hope, uh let's hope they win a game this. Week we'll say that instead of saying the opposite. 00:52:00 Speaker 2: Of that against The Colorado. Rockies, Yeah i'd, hope SO i would. 00:52:04 Speaker 1: Think so let's wrap it up with, This. Lyle we were at The, bananas The Savannah bananas On. Friday speaking of going through The brian wou. Injury the other thing we were there for was watching this grand experience of The Savannah bananas in forty seven thousand people on two, nights back to back, nights sold out the ballpark At Tea. Mobile we were there On. 00:52:26 Speaker 2: Friday we have to take it. 00:52:27 Speaker 1: In so what did we? 00:52:30 Speaker 2: Think it was? Cool it was really cool AND i think it appeals to all. PEOPLE i think if you're a diehard baseball, fan if you can go into that game and go into that experience understanding this is not A Major League baseball, game and it is a. Show it's a, performance and there's gonna be a lot of really cool elements to. It you can appreciate it a. Lot and then if you're a non baseball, fan, again it's like going to a show and they put on an absolute hell of a. Show and it starts from all the way in the afternoon when they're greeting all these fans and dancing out On Occidental avenue and they're signing all these, autographs and then to the game, itself where, again there's the best WAY i can describe. It i'd say my biggest takeaway from this is there's never any dull moment in the. Action there. Is it is two straight hours of keeping you. Engage it is not like a normal baseball game where between pitches you can sit and, relax maybe you check your, phone maybe you're in the middle of a. Conversation it's not like that at The Savannah bananas. Game it, IS i, mean one thing after another after another after. Another for all the GEN z people out there that are glued to their phones and watching all this short form, CONTENT i mean it's almost like SEEING i mean this in a good, way seeing short form content in real life because it is. 00:53:47 Speaker 1: NonStop it's almost overwhelming to a point like you get done with. It if you're there the full experience from say like they started around. Two if you from if you're there for two to, nine, hello you get a little exhausted at the end of. It it's it's very stimulating and can be over stimulating for a lot of. PEOPLE i, thought LIKE i thought it was really. Good we saw home. Run the it's you can't really tell how good the pitching, is like it's it is what it, is, Right they're they're doing, Tricks they're they're bringing celeb. Pitchers we'll talk about the slebs here in a, Second, like, Uh, dakota the guy in stilts ended up throwing like he's not throwing ninety miles an. Hour but we also saw home. Run there are some runs. Scored they are trying to play baseball at some point of the. Game but then there's also like when there's a pop play on the, infield you can't just catch the ball. Normally you have to go behind the, back you have to go through your, legs you have to do a. Backflip you have to do something and, that you, know that makes it a little bit more interesting as, well so they like they really try to like weave it all. 00:54:56 Speaker 2: In, YEAH i thought the baseball's was actually pretty. Good, again you have to, understand these are not major league baseball, players but when you see home runs flying out of the yard and you see balls being hitting the, gaps there's real baseball being. PLAYED i know it's mixed in with a lot of other, things but it's you, know it's not like it's a bunch of high schoolers out there playing, baseball not by any. 00:55:20 Speaker 1: Means the reaction, too when the home run was hit was pretty. Epic the horn, sounded the crowd was extremely, Loud LIKE i thought that part was, Cool like the energy of it was fantastic for the baseball and the non baseball. Stuff speaking of the non baseball, STUFF i do really like the sing. Alongs Like i'm a music. GUY i like the constant playing of popular songs. Throughout that might help be everyone's cup of tea who has more niche music, Tastes. 00:55:49 Speaker 2: But for the most, Part i'm humming along. 00:55:51 Speaker 1: With a lot of the music and it helps. You you're actively thinking about what's going, on which is. Great instead of doing a traditional seventh things, stretch the entire stadium stands up and Sings yellow From. Coldplay oh that was. GREAT i was humming along While i'm trying to take video of the whole. 00:56:07 Speaker 2: Thing it was very. Cool hopefully all the vlog stuff we did encapsulates it. All and we interviewed a few of the players, too who were, awesome and getting to meet up a bunch of the people there who are part of the. Experience it was. Great. YEAH i mean you're right that there are parts of it that feel a little over, stimulating because, again there's so much going, on but it. Is it is a very very fascinating, experience AND i mean that in a good. Way i'm glad we did. It let me put it like, That. 00:56:33 Speaker 1: I'm glad we did it. Too after we wrapped. Up like what comes to mind WHEN i think about. It it is sort of like A broadway play with. Baseball that's kind of what it, is and they've done a really good job of putting that. On for, ME i recommend, everyone if you get the, opportunity go watch it once see if you like it or. Not it'd probably be about a once siyar thing for. 00:56:57 Speaker 2: Me, yeah that feels at out. Right it's not like going to A mariners, game where you could go to forty a year and be excited every. Time now that you wouldn't be excited to see The savannah. Bananas but you're, right it feels like something that's more of it's meant to be an. Occasion, rights that's probably the right way i'd put. It when you see it as it as if it's an, occasion it's a really good. Experience it feels like maybe there would be a point where it's a little bit of, overkill but in the right, dose it's really. 00:57:26 Speaker 1: Cool And i'd also be curious to see how much they switch it up night to. Night like there's some different, dances there's some different, guests but like the baseball, itself a lot of the other things that they, do like how much of that really. Changes i'd be curious to see what would make me want to go to more than ONE i think is IF i was living In. Savannah there's a key difference between when they do THEIR us tour versus what they do when they play In. Savannah when they do THEIR us, tour it's pretty typical. Stadium you go to your, state you buy a, ticket you buy your food and, drink you sit, down et. Cetera all this. Stuff In, savannah when you buy a ticket from, them you get unlimited food and. 00:58:08 Speaker 2: Drink, yeah that'd be, fun but they. 00:58:12 Speaker 1: DON'T i. ASKED i was, like does everyone hear forty seven thousand people get free food and? Drink and guy looks at, me he says. NO i was, like, yeah that kind of makes. Sense that's a that's a big bill a foot on food for that many. People but In, savannah with a smaller, stadium you can do. 00:58:27 Speaker 2: It. Yeah i'll give a shout out To Jesse cole, too who's the owner of the. Team he Said seattle might have been the best environment they played on this whole, tour which just continues to speak volumes to what we've all always known about the city Of. Seattle it's a hell of a sports, town really really good sports. Town when when these teams give this fan base in this region something to truly love or something to truly show up, for people show. Up and we saw that in two nights with The Savanna, bananas where it was, loud it was, energetic it was. Exciting he were into. It he's not saying that to every, stadium and they're appreciative of everywhere they, go but they're not blowing. Smoke they're not telling every stadium you were the loudest stadium we've been at all. Year they said it. Here it was pretty. Cool and, again this is a this is a team and an organization that played In clemson's football stadium not that long. Ago that is way more capacity than T Mobile, park yet that was the loudest. ENVIRONMENT i also. 00:59:22 Speaker 1: Think it's really cool to have their own, baseballs AND i have, one So i've a BEEN i will forever have a banana. 00:59:27 Speaker 2: Ball it's cool again At Yellow, BASEBALL i was all for. It so but it was a fun day On. 00:59:34 Speaker 1: Friday it's fun to Multitask, Yeah mariners and and banana, ball and there we were not the only people in that ballpark paying attention to both at the same. 00:59:44 Speaker 2: Time, no and we got to meet a lot of fans who were into both and we got to spend time having some conversations with which was very. Cool so shout out to all you guys that either stopped us On friday or wanted to strike up a. Conversation it's always it's always a blast to talk to all. You, seriously that was that was awesome and the experience was. Great, YEAH i, agree a lot of. 01:00:05 Speaker 1: Fun hopefully they come back sometime. Soon maybe it might not be next, year might have to wait a couple of. 01:00:09 Speaker 2: Years, yeah But i'm sure it'll happen again at some. Point, yeah. Sure Shadow Jamie moyer And Walter, jones by the, way those were the two celebrities in the. Game so that was. 01:00:19 Speaker 1: Fun, friday and then On saturday it Was paxton and. 01:00:25 Speaker 2: Might have just Been. PAXTON i saw the lead singer From train was there doing a song On. 01:00:29 Speaker 1: Saturday, yeah maybe then he was the other, one but he didn't play mm. 01:00:33 Speaker 2: Hmm, yeah but very.
