00:03 --> 00:11 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners offense comes alive in game three and they take a commanding 21 series leader of the Detroit Tigers.

00:50 --> 01:05 [SPEAKER_00]: And we welcome you to this episode of the Marine Lair podcast part of the just baseball podcast network recording here on Tuesday evening October 7th and Cal Rally Stamps the Mariners went into Troy tonight.
01:05 --> 01:07 [SPEAKER_00]: It was an electric night or here at the hall.
01:07 --> 01:11 [SPEAKER_00]: You can hear all the ambient noise behind us Queen and beer hall here in Seattle.
01:11 --> 01:13 [SPEAKER_00]: The watch party was great.
01:13 --> 01:14 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners offence was better.
01:15 --> 01:16 [SPEAKER_01]: That was awesome.
01:17 --> 01:21 [SPEAKER_01]: They had come out of the gate a little bit slow as we all know in the first two games.
01:21 --> 01:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Oppenst didn't really get click and finally we saw it tonight.
01:25 --> 01:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Is that a result of a lot of time off and getting your flow back?
01:29 --> 01:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Is it the result of Jack Flerity just hasn't had a great year?
01:32 --> 01:33 [SPEAKER_01]: There's no real way to know.
01:33 --> 01:36 [SPEAKER_01]: The important thing is they put a stamp on that game tonight.
01:36 --> 01:38 [SPEAKER_01]: The mayor has often said, yeah, we're here.
01:38 --> 01:41 [SPEAKER_01]: This is who we are and we came to play today because they did.
01:42 --> 01:44 [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of people who felt good about tonight's matchup.
01:44 --> 01:46 [SPEAKER_00]: You had to like Logan Gober going on the mound.
01:46 --> 01:50 [SPEAKER_00]: A guy had a lot of people thought should have started game one of this series.
01:51 --> 01:53 [SPEAKER_00]: And tonight I think he showed a little bit of that why.
01:53 --> 01:56 [SPEAKER_00]: The difference between what he did and what Jack Flarity did.
01:56 --> 02:01 [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a huge tipping point in this series from what each team can get from their starter.
02:01 --> 02:08 [SPEAKER_00]: But it again comes back to as I've talked about after game one, talked about after game two, this is a big gap in these lineups.
02:09 --> 02:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Big Gow.
02:10 --> 02:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Mariners can still have off-night from guys.
02:13 --> 02:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter.
02:13 --> 02:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Line up is still so much deeper.
02:15 --> 02:21 [SPEAKER_00]: And what happens when the Tigers don't get contributions from Carrie Carpenter and Riley Green?
02:22 --> 02:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing.
02:23 --> 02:24 [SPEAKER_01]: They go dead silent.
02:25 --> 02:30 [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, did the Mariners take a gamble with waiting until Game 3 to start Logan Gilbert?
02:30 --> 02:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure they did.
02:30 --> 02:31 [SPEAKER_01]: We talked about that.
02:31 --> 02:35 [SPEAKER_01]: They played the matchups, which we totally get because Kirby and Castillo pinched much better at home.
02:35 --> 02:36 [SPEAKER_01]: That's been well documented.
02:37 --> 02:38 [SPEAKER_01]: and they took a gamble.
02:39 --> 02:50 [SPEAKER_01]: But by Logan going in game three here tonight, they proved exactly why that paid off because they were able to come away from the homestand, splitting one one, and then what happens?
02:50 --> 02:59 [SPEAKER_01]: You get Logan Gilbert versus Jack clarity, a match up that totally favors the Mariners and just about every facet with a chance to tilt the series.
02:59 --> 03:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Do you feel better with anybody out there right now that's healthy than Logan Gilbert to go out and get you a win?
03:05 --> 03:07 [SPEAKER_01]: My faith isn't Logan before anybody else in this rotation.
03:09 --> 03:15 [SPEAKER_01]: But with that, they got to one one, they give them all the Logan and he tilts it back in their favor, so that gamble paid off.
03:16 --> 03:20 [SPEAKER_00]: And he was about as good as we've seen him all season long tonight.
03:20 --> 03:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Stepping up on the road, not in the most ideal environment in the world.
03:25 --> 03:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Not only are you pitching on the road in the playoffs, which look, I thought the Detroit crowd was fine.
03:29 --> 03:31 [SPEAKER_00]: It was a little hard to get a read on the crowd.
03:31 --> 03:34 [SPEAKER_00]: And here, given that we were amongst a crowd of ourselves.
03:35 --> 03:40 [SPEAKER_00]: But Logan goes out after a three hour range delay in which he's got a sit.
03:40 --> 03:44 [SPEAKER_00]: He's got a weight and Logan is so routine oriented and he's structured.
03:45 --> 03:46 [SPEAKER_00]: He likes things the way he likes it.
03:47 --> 03:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Still goes out there and it's pretty sharp.
03:52 --> 03:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't too erratic.
03:54 --> 03:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't
03:56 --> 04:02 [SPEAKER_00]: was around the strike so when he needed it, Logan will sometimes spike a few, but that's because his pitch is moving a lot.
04:02 --> 04:05 [SPEAKER_00]: But every single big moment, he stepped up.
04:06 --> 04:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Just like look what happened when the lineup flipped over for a third time.
04:09 --> 04:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Logan Gilbert was there and snuff sniffs out any chance of the tiger scoring.
04:15 --> 04:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean in that third time through who's sitting right there at the top of the order and Kerry Carbender AJ hinge moved him up in that lineup today, by the way.
04:22 --> 04:29 [SPEAKER_01]: He said, look, we're going to force the Mariners to make some top decisions when they get to that 19 to bat with Kerry Carbender Logan stayed in.
04:30 --> 04:32 [SPEAKER_01]: It was nice that the Mariners had a very nice cushion at that point.
04:33 --> 04:37 [SPEAKER_01]: And to Logan's credit, he made the pitch that should have gotten him out of the inning.
04:37 --> 04:39 [SPEAKER_01]: JP Spike, the throw, so it went on a little further.
04:39 --> 04:44 [SPEAKER_01]: But Logan Gilbert, a tack carpenter with a bunch of splitters, which he does not hit well.
04:44 --> 04:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Carpenter crush his fastballs and we know he crush his righties.
04:47 --> 04:48 [SPEAKER_01]: He is not hit.
04:49 --> 04:50 [SPEAKER_01]: off-speed well this season.
04:50 --> 04:55 [SPEAKER_01]: He has not hit splitters well clearly they knew that because they were attacking him with splitters and it worked.
04:55 --> 05:00 [SPEAKER_00]: It makes Logan Gilbert a really bad match of forum because there's one thing Logan likes doing, it's throwing junk.
05:01 --> 05:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Right, he junks it up a lot.
05:02 --> 05:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Specifically splitters.
05:04 --> 05:06 [SPEAKER_00]: It made the decision third time through so much easier.
05:07 --> 05:12 [SPEAKER_01]: because they had a lead and a carry carpenters swing couldn't put the game out of hand there.
05:12 --> 05:17 [SPEAKER_01]: If what have only been fourth three at the absolute worst and we'll talk about tomorrow in a little bit here.
05:18 --> 05:22 [SPEAKER_01]: But with the way things are structured tomorrow, you may need.
05:22 --> 05:27 [SPEAKER_01]: a lot of your bullpen tomorrow to be fresh and ready and set to go to throw some innings.
05:27 --> 05:31 [SPEAKER_01]: So the fact they could get six out of Logan and the fact that they had the four nothing lead.
05:32 --> 05:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, made it way easier to decide what to do the third time through because again, I think they're really going to need a joint effort.
05:39 --> 05:42 [SPEAKER_01]: in game four from Bryce and the Boatman to go get a win.
05:42 --> 05:44 [SPEAKER_01]: But sticking on game three, Logan was awesome.
05:44 --> 05:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Game six.
05:45 --> 05:46 [SPEAKER_01]: That thing's the length did not have a problem.
05:46 --> 05:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Third time through the order.
05:48 --> 05:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely down.
05:49 --> 05:53 [SPEAKER_00]: And then the Mariners dot offense did their best to have Andre Spunios, not pitch in this game.
05:53 --> 05:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they come up late in that game.
05:55 --> 05:55 [SPEAKER_00]: And.
05:56 --> 06:02 [SPEAKER_00]: keep stacking, scoring plays, until Cal Rowley comes up and hits his home run.
06:02 --> 06:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Custard Big swings from everybody.
06:04 --> 06:08 [SPEAKER_00]: JP Crawford, a left-on-left bomb off of Brand Herter.
06:08 --> 06:09 [SPEAKER_00]: That was pretty epic.
06:09 --> 06:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Cal Rowley doing what he's doing.
06:12 --> 06:14 [SPEAKER_00]: And the only reason the Tigers scored,
06:15 --> 06:17 [SPEAKER_00]: because Kale Ferguson had a bad outing.
06:17 --> 06:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he did not have a good outing.
06:19 --> 06:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I did not want Andre's Munoz pitch again that game.
06:22 --> 06:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Given how he had thrown three innings in the first two games.
06:25 --> 06:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Even with the off day giving him one day off so you could have him for four and five would be great.
06:31 --> 06:31 [SPEAKER_00]: had to do it.
06:32 --> 06:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's no choice.
06:33 --> 06:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you couldn't mess around with it anymore.
06:35 --> 06:38 [SPEAKER_01]: When it got to that point, it's like, all right, Ferguson did not have it.
06:38 --> 06:45 [SPEAKER_01]: It was not a sharp outing and it got to the point where the Mariners had to say, look, at the end of the day, we have to win this game.
06:45 --> 06:48 [SPEAKER_01]: You cannot blow any one lead in the ninth inning and credit the moody.
06:48 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_00]: You came in and did it.
06:49 --> 06:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I need to get flowers to Gino.
06:51 --> 06:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
06:52 --> 06:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Comes up with a big swing in this game.
06:54 --> 06:56 [SPEAKER_00]: That was the loudest sight shared all game.
06:56 --> 06:57 [SPEAKER_00]: I was jumping.
06:57 --> 06:58 [SPEAKER_00]: He crushed it.
06:59 --> 07:24 [SPEAKER_01]: and because he looked awful at the plate in the first two games, overmatched, not even close to making contact, but huge swing here tonight was great, they need that, that really set the tone, like when he hit that home run, that's when this game just felt a little different, because you're right, Gino had been overmatched in a lot of the first two matchups, he was swinging in a lot of pitches, but man, he stayed right on that and just destroyed it, and when that happened, again,
07:25 --> 07:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that when you started to feel the tied turn in this game?
07:27 --> 07:28 [SPEAKER_01]: That was the turning point for me.
07:28 --> 07:30 [SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
07:30 --> 07:32 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope, look, I was confident this entire game.
07:33 --> 07:37 [SPEAKER_00]: And once the Mariners scored their first run, I felt pretty good.
07:38 --> 07:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Because again, I don't buy the Tigers on him.
07:40 --> 07:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Can you name me a time this series where the Tigers have forced runs in against the Mariners?
07:47 --> 07:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Now there are the all their offense has essentially been from two hits.
07:51 --> 07:54 [SPEAKER_00]: They had carry carmen or home running game one, which should have never happened.
07:55 --> 07:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Did it never happen?
07:55 --> 07:58 [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, it should be three out right now with a sweet, but we'll let it go.
07:58 --> 08:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Game two, Josh Naylor makes a crucial error.
08:01 --> 08:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Matt Brass throws one bad pitch.
08:03 --> 08:06 [SPEAKER_00]: The air is even bigger because then that torque can't would have never happened.
08:06 --> 08:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Those are the runs in game two and then tonight it was a JP throw that led to that only run.
08:12 --> 08:19 [SPEAKER_00]: And then the Mariners were up eight one and took the worst outing of the entire series from a reliever from the push across three runs.
08:19 --> 08:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
08:20 --> 08:20 [SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
08:21 --> 08:23 [SPEAKER_00]: The offense for the Tigers have a has no show.
08:23 --> 08:23 [SPEAKER_01]: No.
08:23 --> 08:26 [SPEAKER_00]: And you got to give a lot of props to the Mariners pitchers for that.
08:26 --> 08:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
08:27 --> 08:39 [SPEAKER_01]: When you really think about it like that, you say to yourself, yeah, this has not been an impressive line of, again, the only reason they have a win in this series is basically all on the Marvers, the Marvers beat themselves.
08:40 --> 08:44 [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't the Tigers absolutely showing up and throttling the ball offensively.
08:44 --> 08:45 [SPEAKER_01]: They have not done that at all.
08:47 --> 08:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I have a more of a big picture thought that I want to get to here in a second, but before that, we just want to give a huge thanks.
08:53 --> 08:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Huge thanks to our host here at the Hall tonight.
08:55 --> 09:01 [SPEAKER_00]: The watch party was fantastic, just to note you guys, they're doing another watch party for game four tomorrow.
09:01 --> 09:06 [SPEAKER_00]: I believe the start times if the Yankees who are right now up three runs win,
09:06 --> 09:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Watch Partio B. The first pitch will be at 1 o'clock at the 8-key somehow blow this through a read lead right now The game will be at 4 o'clock Pacific time.
09:15 --> 09:16 [SPEAKER_00]: I have that right.
09:16 --> 09:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Why am I head?
09:17 --> 09:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Did I think it was 12 not one?
09:18 --> 09:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's double check that Tomorrow Wednesday's game.
09:23 --> 09:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah 12.
09:23 --> 09:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it is 12.
09:24 --> 09:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
09:24 --> 09:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't listen to me then
09:26 --> 09:27 [SPEAKER_00]: that first part.
09:27 --> 09:30 [SPEAKER_00]: 12 o'clock is the first pitch of tomorrow's game.
09:30 --> 09:39 [SPEAKER_00]: But at the Blue J's win, and the series is over, which doesn't look like it right now, then they would play it three or four, four, four, okay.
09:39 --> 09:40 [SPEAKER_00]: So there you go.
09:40 --> 09:42 [SPEAKER_00]: So it was a great time here at the All Tonight.
09:42 --> 09:43 [SPEAKER_00]: The energy was great.
09:43 --> 09:44 [SPEAKER_00]: If you look over our shoulder,
09:45 --> 09:47 [SPEAKER_00]: you can see everyone's still here having a great time.
09:47 --> 09:51 [SPEAKER_00]: When he thanked Georgetown Brewing for coming out tonight, come by and grab yourself a boaty.
09:52 --> 09:53 [SPEAKER_00]: It was fantastic.
09:53 --> 09:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I had a couple of myself.
09:54 --> 09:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Simply Seattle with the water to go in.
09:56 --> 09:57 [SPEAKER_00]: The whole fucking thing shirts.
09:58 --> 09:58 [SPEAKER_00]: We're here tonight.
09:59 --> 10:00 [SPEAKER_00]: They're great as well.
10:01 --> 10:01 [SPEAKER_00]: And also,
10:03 --> 10:09 [SPEAKER_00]: If you are here at the hole this month at all, we recommend tomorrow, but at all, come try the new smash to the month.
10:10 --> 10:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Grand Salami Smash, it's so good.
10:13 --> 10:15 [SPEAKER_00]: I'd recommend coming by and checking it out.
10:15 --> 10:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Huge thanks to our friends at the hall.
10:17 --> 10:18 [SPEAKER_00]: They are awesome.
10:18 --> 10:22 [SPEAKER_01]: If this is such a cool place to hang out, again, we were at Queen Ambeer Hall tonight.
10:22 --> 10:25 [SPEAKER_01]: That's where the watch party will be again here on Wednesday, Queen Ambeer Hall.
10:25 --> 10:28 [SPEAKER_01]: There's three locations, obviously, but so cool.
10:28 --> 10:28 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was packed.
10:29 --> 10:30 [SPEAKER_01]: People are screaming, there's chanting.
10:34 --> 10:38 [SPEAKER_01]: To talk about an environment to watch a baseball game out with Mariner fans, especially when they're on the road.
10:39 --> 10:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is the spot.
10:40 --> 10:41 [SPEAKER_01]: It was so cool.
10:42 --> 10:42 [SPEAKER_01]: So cool.
10:42 --> 10:44 [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, are you going to survive?
10:45 --> 10:48 [SPEAKER_01]: and I shouldn't be talking because of my own voice recovered pretty quick.
10:48 --> 10:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, your voice is going through it.
10:51 --> 10:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I get to sleep tomorrow.
10:53 --> 10:53 [SPEAKER_00]: You don't.
10:53 --> 10:54 [SPEAKER_00]: That helps.
10:54 --> 10:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Usually.
10:54 --> 10:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
10:55 --> 10:57 [SPEAKER_00]: When we're done here, I'm going to drink a lot of water.
10:57 --> 10:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Probably no more beer for me tonight.
10:58 --> 11:00 [SPEAKER_00]: You might want to go buy yourself some cough drops.
11:00 --> 11:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Cough drops.
11:01 --> 11:02 [SPEAKER_00]: That would be good.
11:02 --> 11:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe some tea.
11:03 --> 11:04 [SPEAKER_01]: You're drinking some tea here today.
11:04 --> 11:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I need some tea.
11:05 --> 11:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Just this.
11:06 --> 11:07 [SPEAKER_01]: keep myself awake.
11:07 --> 11:08 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm almost no sleep.
11:10 --> 11:16 [SPEAKER_01]: It was a long day, a great day, but a long day because we thought this game was going to start at one o'clock, build a roof to try it.
11:17 --> 11:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Big picture.
11:18 --> 11:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
11:19 --> 11:20 [SPEAKER_00]: We laid it out after Monday.
11:21 --> 11:25 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners had two Terrix scoobal starts, two games into try it.
11:26 --> 11:31 [SPEAKER_00]: After losing game one Monday, if they wanted to win the series, they had to win three of those.
11:33 --> 11:34 [SPEAKER_00]: They made it look pretty doable.
11:35 --> 11:37 [SPEAKER_01]: They beat Scooble and they want a road game.
11:38 --> 11:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see them wrap this thing up tomorrow, man.
11:41 --> 11:42 [SPEAKER_00]: All hands on Dechymal, right?
11:43 --> 11:46 [SPEAKER_00]: So Bryce is scheduled to get the start and game four.
11:47 --> 11:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Bryce is still technically stretched out.
11:50 --> 11:52 [SPEAKER_00]: He pitched the last game of the season, so it has been,
11:54 --> 11:57 [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have a month, we can have for him since he's last started a game.
11:58 --> 12:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Not the longest stretch off in the world.
12:00 --> 12:02 [SPEAKER_00]: He's thrown some bullpens, but he'll start tomorrow.
12:02 --> 12:04 [SPEAKER_00]: If he pitches well, he could pitch five.
12:05 --> 12:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I'd say somewhere between four to five innings for Bryce Miller tomorrow.
12:10 --> 12:14 [SPEAKER_00]: But if they have a lead after four innings, it's all hands on deck.
12:14 --> 12:15 [SPEAKER_00]: I think to finish.
12:15 --> 12:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Outside of, outside of Kirby to start game five.
12:20 --> 12:21 [SPEAKER_00]: It's all hands on deck.
12:21 --> 12:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Kirby and Logan go were the only two not available tomorrow.
12:23 --> 12:28 [SPEAKER_01]: And I would not be shocked if it gets to a game five and I hope it doesn't, it gets to a game five.
12:28 --> 12:31 [SPEAKER_01]: I would not be shocked to see Logan come in out of the bullpen for a couple.
12:31 --> 12:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
12:31 --> 12:32 [SPEAKER_01]: That would be his bullpen day.
12:32 --> 12:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Just yeah, just not tomorrow.
12:34 --> 12:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Not tomorrow.
12:35 --> 12:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Kirby could come out of the pen tomorrow if they're all hands on deck.
12:37 --> 12:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Once it gets to game five, the Mariners outside of outside of Bryce Miller will have everybody available.
12:43 --> 12:47 [SPEAKER_00]: And less Bryce only goes in inning in a third tomorrow, which I don't think is hot.
12:47 --> 12:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think is going to happen.
12:48 --> 12:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Cause again, Tiger's line of piss is very good.
12:51 --> 12:53 [SPEAKER_01]: They could really use Bryce tomorrow, man.
12:53 --> 12:55 [SPEAKER_01]: And some of Bryce has started so at the end of the year.
12:55 --> 12:59 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you saw a lot of positives in what was the 2024 Bryce Miller.
13:00 --> 13:01 [SPEAKER_01]: You've seen this swing in this.
13:01 --> 13:03 [SPEAKER_01]: You've seen him get strikeouts.
13:04 --> 13:09 [SPEAKER_01]: It's just about efficiency, working deep into games, and don't let the one big swing kill you.
13:10 --> 13:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Logan Gilbert stepped up in every way tonight and put together one of his best start to the year.
13:15 --> 13:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Man, it will be so awesome to see 20, 24 Bryce returned tomorrow and put together his best start of the year.
13:21 --> 13:27 [SPEAKER_01]: In a year that has been really tough for Bryce with a bunch of injuries and having to work his way back from a bunch of things.
13:27 --> 13:34 [SPEAKER_01]: If he stepped up tomorrow and gave him five, even talk about six the way Logan did tonight, that would be awesome.
13:34 --> 13:34 [SPEAKER_01]: It would be amazing.
13:35 --> 13:37 [SPEAKER_00]: What kind of desperation things we think the Tigers are doing tomorrow?
13:45 --> 13:48 [SPEAKER_01]: because they don't burn the game five of school.
13:48 --> 13:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Because like when would you throw him?
13:49 --> 13:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, look, because if you had a lead, do you be like, oh, well, we need him to win tomorrow.
13:54 --> 13:56 [SPEAKER_00]: So no, what if they're losing by a run?
13:59 --> 14:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.
14:00 --> 14:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I guess what they, I mean, because again, if they lose seasons over and they don't get to pitch game five.
14:07 --> 14:15 [SPEAKER_01]: The thing is, when you say what kind of all hands on deck things could the Tigers do, how many stops can the Tigers really pull out?
14:15 --> 14:17 [SPEAKER_01]: This roster outside of Terrac's Google isn't that good.
14:18 --> 14:24 [SPEAKER_01]: So what do you want them to go to, Tyler Holten, they get Detroit, Troy Melton again, sorry, not Tyler Holten.
14:24 --> 14:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Troy Melton again, I guess, I don't call that as, I don't call that a crazy pulling out the stop.
14:30 --> 14:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh no, here it comes, the net absolute ace.
14:33 --> 14:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the Tigers version of that is just hitting Kerry Carpenter versus a lefty.
14:37 --> 14:39 [SPEAKER_00]: that's not pulling out a stop either sucks against lefties.
14:40 --> 14:45 [SPEAKER_00]: But meaning they need, they'd rather him hit against the lefty than other options against the lefty.
14:46 --> 14:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So it's been Jamai Jones against lefties for them who's been solid, but Carrie Carpenter's a better baseball player.
14:52 --> 14:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
14:53 --> 14:58 [SPEAKER_01]: So you're saying you let him hit against the lefty to sacrifice that a bat and let him come back up against the righty bullpen arm.
14:58 --> 14:59 [SPEAKER_00]: It's possible.
14:59 --> 14:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
15:00 --> 15:02 [SPEAKER_01]: But there's not that many crazy stops the Tigers can pull out.
15:03 --> 15:04 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners are better than this team.
15:04 --> 15:05 [SPEAKER_01]: It is very clear.
15:06 --> 15:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, they should probably have swept this series three out.
15:09 --> 15:09 [SPEAKER_01]: They should have.
15:10 --> 15:13 [SPEAKER_01]: But they are at two one right now, and it is very clear that they are better than this team.
15:14 --> 15:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Even with a game tomorrow where you may need a lot from a lot of arms, they should still go take this thing.
15:19 --> 15:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Casey Mides is not had a good second half.
15:22 --> 15:23 [SPEAKER_01]: He did not have a good start in Cleveland.
15:24 --> 15:26 [SPEAKER_01]: This is once again a start that should,
15:27 --> 15:32 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's going to wait for the same way that it did with Logan Gilbert on the mound, but it's a game they can and should absolutely win.
15:32 --> 15:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Both teams are going to be equally reliant on their bullpen.
15:35 --> 15:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but there's a big difference here.
15:37 --> 15:40 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners have not had to tax their entire bullpen.
15:41 --> 15:43 [SPEAKER_00]: The Tigers have had to tax their entire bullpen.
15:45 --> 15:57 [SPEAKER_00]: three out of the five games this postseason if Terri school's not on the mound the longest start a tiger starter has had is four and two thirds and that was Jack Clarity against the Guardians Jack Clarity tonight went
15:58 --> 15:59 [SPEAKER_00]: two and a third.
15:59 --> 16:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Not great.
16:00 --> 16:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Not great.
16:00 --> 16:01 [SPEAKER_01]: And look.
16:02 --> 16:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I did not like seeing Andre's moonios in there at all today.
16:04 --> 16:05 [SPEAKER_01]: They had to do it to get the win.
16:06 --> 16:08 [SPEAKER_01]: I would have loved to see him just get rested.
16:09 --> 16:11 [SPEAKER_01]: But he only threw nine pitches.
16:12 --> 16:14 [SPEAKER_01]: So he should be more than okay for tomorrow.
16:14 --> 16:15 [SPEAKER_01]: We only threw nine pitches.
16:15 --> 16:15 [SPEAKER_01]: It's postseason.
16:15 --> 16:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's available every day.
16:17 --> 16:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
16:17 --> 16:18 [SPEAKER_01]: But.
16:18 --> 16:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Day off on Monday, only nine pitches two day.
16:21 --> 16:23 [SPEAKER_01]: He should absolutely be available Wednesday.
16:23 --> 16:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Games fired in pitch.
16:25 --> 16:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Matt Brash had a really efficient outing.
16:27 --> 16:30 [SPEAKER_01]: All their A level guys should be set and ready to go.
16:30 --> 16:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of well, no, not Kirby.
16:33 --> 16:33 [SPEAKER_00]: No, just kidding.
16:33 --> 16:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking for a second.
16:34 --> 16:39 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like Kirby might put Kirby because he'd have for an inning.
16:41 --> 17:07 [SPEAKER_01]: if you are set on winning game four and you think you have got it if you put George Kirby in it's possible and then if for whatever reason you didn't win that game then Louis starts game five and Logan might be piggybacking them for a couple in it yeah and I I'd be okay with that I think there is a chance we see George Kirby in game four if the Mariners think they can win this thing and they've shown they've been willing to throw them in the bullpen and the one outing he has had out of the bullpen in his career in the postseason it was pretty good it's very good that's always an option there
17:08 --> 17:13 [SPEAKER_00]: you could still throw him for an inning tomorrow and just start him on Friday if you wanted to.
17:13 --> 17:14 [SPEAKER_00]: If it's his bullpen.
17:16 --> 17:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm thinking that through.
17:17 --> 17:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, one off the day.
17:18 --> 17:21 [SPEAKER_00]: One bullpen, one like one inning, 20 pitches.
17:22 --> 17:32 [SPEAKER_00]: His start might be shortened on Friday if you do that, but his start might be shortened anyway, given that either not gonna let him go to the line of three times and if you don't win the game,
17:33 --> 17:35 [SPEAKER_00]: You know that your guys are going to pitch anyways, you need everyone to pitch.
17:35 --> 17:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So it would be brash, bazardo, price miller, potentially again, muños, maybe they'll put Ferguson back in there, even though I don't think, I don't think people have to tonight want to see it back in there.
17:49 --> 17:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I wonder how his role is going to be going forward.
17:52 --> 17:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Is he going to go to the Doc House?
17:54 --> 17:55 [SPEAKER_00]: We were talking about it with some people here.
17:55 --> 17:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to our friend Nick.
17:57 --> 18:01 [SPEAKER_00]: He was, you know, he's talking through the, I think this is what we're talking to Nick about.
18:01 --> 18:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you put Ferguson against the low leverage lefties and the fifth, depending on the status of the game.
18:07 --> 18:09 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a one run game, maybe not.
18:10 --> 18:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And then you save Gabe for later in the game.
18:13 --> 18:26 [SPEAKER_00]: but like that like the Mariners are up three runs I would consider doing that yeah if you throw strikes I can buy into that Yeah again, I think all hands are gonna be on deck for the Mariners tomorrow.
18:26 --> 18:36 [SPEAKER_01]: You can see all stops get pulled out to make sure they go out And get away by the way I know a lot of people were like where was Emerson Hancock tonight and totally fair.
18:36 --> 18:38 [SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people wanted to see Hancock close that game
18:39 --> 18:43 [SPEAKER_01]: with Bryce Miller being on what will likely be a short leash.
18:44 --> 18:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, again, let's just hope he deals tomorrow, but if he's on a short leash, they may need Emerson for a couple of minutes tomorrow, and he hasn't pitched in the series.
18:51 --> 18:56 [SPEAKER_01]: So that might be why they did not go to Hancock tonight, because they have gone to Luke Jackson's shirt.
18:57 --> 19:01 [SPEAKER_01]: But I think you might have seen them stay away from Emerson, because there's a chance you're going to need him in game four.
19:02 --> 19:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Free Luke Jackson.
19:03 --> 19:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, free Luke Jackson.
19:05 --> 19:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Tomorrow's game still I think will come down to the offense.
19:09 --> 19:13 [SPEAKER_00]: They bash round Casey Mice might not matter who throws in the bullpen.
19:13 --> 19:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, this tiger's bullpen has proven after game one to be pretty mid.
19:17 --> 19:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, pretty mid and pretty taxed, just not a good combination.
19:21 --> 19:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Mariners didn't put their foot down tomorrow and end this series.
19:24 --> 19:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I think don't let it come home.
19:25 --> 19:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Game next game played here at home.
19:28 --> 19:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully game one of the ALCS.
19:35 --> 19:39 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, yeah, don't let it come home and more importantly do not let it get back to Terrac School.
19:39 --> 19:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's the key.
19:41 --> 19:43 [SPEAKER_00]: That I do would rather not roll my dice with that.
19:43 --> 19:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Even if you're confident they'll beat Terrac School again.
19:46 --> 20:09 [SPEAKER_00]: shit can go wrong all the time in the postseason a bunch of error anything any little slipup can cost you your season right how about you just get to case you might as a game for again not a good second half and really did not pinch well and is one play off start so far yeah i'm feeling good man i'm feeling good they have redeemed themselves the last two games this offense comes out and hit tomorrow
20:10 --> 20:11 [SPEAKER_00]: We're talking ALCS.
20:12 --> 20:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Should I quote what I quoted as soon as Cal hit that home run, BTA, BTA tomorrow.
20:18 --> 20:19 [SPEAKER_00]: You can say it.
20:19 --> 20:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Belt to ask tomorrow.
20:21 --> 20:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Belt to ask.
20:22 --> 20:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Do it.
20:23 --> 20:24 [SPEAKER_01]: End this thing tomorrow.
20:25 --> 20:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Man is momentum swung back in their favor.
20:26 --> 20:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Feelin' good, feelin' good.
20:28 --> 20:30 [SPEAKER_00]: So good that we have now of a skeleton behind us.
20:30 --> 20:32 [SPEAKER_00]: And are not feeling any ill effects from it.
20:33 --> 20:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it is October.
20:34 --> 20:36 [SPEAKER_00]: It is October, spooky season.
20:36 --> 20:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, this has been such a cool event at Queen Ambeur Hall and at all the Hall locations.
20:40 --> 20:40 [SPEAKER_01]: So,

20:56 --> 20:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Anything else, or are we about good?
20:58 --> 20:59 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready for game four.
20:59 --> 21:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Bring it on.
21:00 --> 21:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Bring it on.
21:01 --> 21:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Go do it to him, Bryce.
