01:04 --> 01:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Mariners three blue j's one a one zero lead in the A L C S how about it.
01:15 --> 01:16 [SPEAKER_00]: How about it?
01:16 --> 01:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Holy hell, let's just start here, stolen win stolen win that those boys just took away a game one in Toronto.
01:24 --> 01:25 [SPEAKER_00]: My goodness.
01:25 --> 01:30 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you look at this game and all the odds that were stacked against them going into it.
01:30 --> 01:31 [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about it plenty.
01:31 --> 01:34 [SPEAKER_00]: We said, look, the Americans can absolutely win this series.
01:34 --> 01:37 [SPEAKER_00]: We said game one, that's an uphill battle.
01:37 --> 01:39 [SPEAKER_00]: You've got Bryce Miller on three days rest.
01:40 --> 01:44 [SPEAKER_00]: You've got a team that had a delayed flight out of Seattle to Toronto on Saturday.
01:44 --> 01:51 [SPEAKER_00]: They were up way late into the night on Friday playing 15 innings, bullpens, tax, not a lot of fresh arms, blue jays arrested.
01:52 --> 01:54 [SPEAKER_00]: We said this is really going to be an uphill battle.
01:54 --> 01:57 [SPEAKER_00]: They're probably going to have to slug their way to a win if they want to win.
01:58 --> 01:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Boy, where are we wrong?
01:59 --> 02:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Bryce Miller, hang the stones out.
02:01 --> 02:02 [SPEAKER_00]: My goodness.
02:03 --> 02:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
02:03 --> 02:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Dominant innings.
02:05 --> 02:09 [SPEAKER_01]: That was way more than I think anyone expected from going into this game.
02:10 --> 02:11 [SPEAKER_01]: You and I sat here and we talked about this.
02:11 --> 02:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I said, you know, on three days rest, given that Bryce didn't pitch great last time around, he struggled multiple times with the order.
02:19 --> 02:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Why don't you let Bryce go for good innings if he's got four good innings in him and then you worry about all the bullpen Maybe our guy Emerson Hencock gets in maybe someone else throw some bulk innings.
02:30 --> 02:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no We were instead having to discussion should Bryce Miller go seven complete innings because let's be real Bryce Miller had an awful first inning George Springer take the first pitchy season parks it over the right field fence for a home run
02:42 --> 02:45 [SPEAKER_01]: gives up a couple of other scorched balls in that first inning.
02:46 --> 02:51 [SPEAKER_01]: This is after, by the way, the Mariners squander a prime scoring opportunity in the first inning.
02:52 --> 02:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Here we go again.
02:53 --> 02:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'll just be transparent with everybody.
02:55 --> 02:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Between not scoring.
02:57 --> 02:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Can we win over?
02:58 --> 02:59 [SPEAKER_00]: No, I didn't do that.
02:59 --> 03:01 [SPEAKER_00]: No, I did not do that.
03:01 --> 03:02 [SPEAKER_00]: That's not what I did.
03:02 --> 03:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't put words in my mouth.
03:03 --> 03:16 [SPEAKER_00]: But I did say that after they didn't score in the first and on the first pitch of the bottom of the first, springer absolutely parks one the other way, way out of the yard, I did say this has the chance to be a long day.
03:17 --> 03:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I said it's got a chance to be a long day because again, we knew the odds were going to be stacked again some today and it's no knock on the Mariners again.
03:24 --> 03:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Even if they had lost game one, they can absolutely win this series.
03:27 --> 03:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely win this series.
03:30 --> 03:35 [SPEAKER_00]: When springer hit the home run the first, we said, yeah, this is going to be a hard game for them to win.
03:35 --> 03:37 [SPEAKER_00]: And then everything flipped after that.
03:37 --> 03:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Price Miller went from having like a 30 pitch first inning to being as efficient as all hell the rest of the way.
03:44 --> 03:45 [SPEAKER_00]: And the offense doing just enough.
03:46 --> 03:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Any face to worse line up earlier this week in the Tigers in a start.
03:49 --> 03:58 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners wanted to win a game for to avoid facing Terrick Schubel and in a like he didn't look this good, it's not like Bryce was missing a ton of bats today.
03:58 --> 03:59 [SPEAKER_01]: He missed bats when he needed to.
03:59 --> 04:01 [SPEAKER_01]: His fast mobile loss it was up.
04:01 --> 04:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I throw out the saw.
04:03 --> 04:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Slow down my words here.
04:04 --> 04:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Thought he threw some really good sliders as well.
04:06 --> 04:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, you know, it was a lot of contact with the thing is it was really good contacts that he was allowing.
04:13 --> 04:14 [SPEAKER_01]: The hard hit balls in the first inning.
04:15 --> 04:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's a good staffer.
04:15 --> 04:17 [SPEAKER_01]: He's so expected batting average, right?
04:17 --> 04:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Ball off the bat, how often is it going to be a hit?
04:19 --> 04:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Given those parameters of the ball.
04:21 --> 04:26 [SPEAKER_01]: In the first inning, he gave up three batteballs with an expected batting average over 500.
04:26 --> 04:29 [SPEAKER_01]: The rest of the game he allowed to.
04:30 --> 04:31 [SPEAKER_01]: rest of the game.
04:31 --> 04:36 [SPEAKER_01]: He and if you went through 70, probably doesn't allow another one after that, we're talking six innings after the first.
04:37 --> 04:37 [SPEAKER_01]: After the first.
04:38 --> 04:39 [SPEAKER_01]: where he's just flat out dominant.
04:40 --> 04:48 [SPEAKER_01]: In a matchup, if I'm a Blue Jace fan, I am just sitting your kicking, screaming, like I'm what we felt in game one against the Tigers.
04:49 --> 04:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Mariners at every advantage in the world against the Tigers throwing a bullpen game, but hey, sometimes that's just how it happens.
04:55 --> 05:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Today was one of those games where that's just how that happens for the Mariners, where you have a starter, doesn't matter if it's your five starter, you have a starter, go out there and you have them deal.
05:02 --> 05:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Against the other team's ace,
05:04 --> 05:07 [SPEAKER_01]: and the Mariners offense goes out there and scratches across just enough runs.
05:08 --> 05:09 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to the offense in a little bit.
05:09 --> 05:11 [SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to do some reading here.
05:11 --> 05:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we're going to save the reading.
05:13 --> 05:13 [SPEAKER_00]: We can save the reading.
05:14 --> 05:16 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just looking more at Bryce Miller's final line.
05:16 --> 05:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Because again, he threw about 30 pitches in the first inning.
05:19 --> 05:22 [SPEAKER_00]: He finished six innings with under 80 pitches.
05:23 --> 05:38 [SPEAKER_00]: under eighty insane efficiency i mean he absolutely dealt from the second inning on to the point where look games fire through great seven inning and the pocket there for him made sense between facing bar show and having a turn sawn tundair around to the right side instead of him hitting from the left side
05:40 --> 05:42 [SPEAKER_00]: But there was a real argument, Bryce could have gone out for the seven.
05:43 --> 05:44 [SPEAKER_00]: And it's fine that he didn't.
05:44 --> 05:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the Mariners won the game, and the three ball pen arms absolutely dealt, and we can get to them, too.
05:49 --> 05:54 [SPEAKER_00]: But the fact that we went from is Bryce Miller gonna get through three innings tonight, too.
05:54 --> 05:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he could go for seven.
05:56 --> 05:57 [SPEAKER_00]: He was awesome.
05:57 --> 05:59 [SPEAKER_00]: He was absolutely amazing.
05:59 --> 06:06 [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, the only reason Bryce Miller even started this game is because the rest of the Mariners starters couldn't pitch in game one.
06:06 --> 06:08 [SPEAKER_00]: They all threw in game five to get him here.
06:08 --> 06:09 [SPEAKER_00]: So you have to start Bryce Miller.
06:09 --> 06:13 [SPEAKER_00]: He goes out there and Look, we've asked for this all year.
06:13 --> 06:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's stamp it right here because I don't think it's a hot take in any way shape or form.
06:17 --> 06:19 [SPEAKER_00]: That was twenty twenty four Bryce Miller.
06:20 --> 06:25 [SPEAKER_01]: The fastball at the top of the zone I thought was the best, the biggest reason why Bryce was doing what he did tonight.
06:25 --> 06:30 [SPEAKER_01]: The Blue Jays could not get on top of that fastball when he put it on the top rail of the strike zone.
06:30 --> 06:34 [SPEAKER_01]: George Sringer got a middle away fastball and parked it over the fence.
06:35 --> 06:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Then Bryce started moving his fastball up to the top end of the strike zone and the Blue Jays kept popping and flying out.
06:42 --> 06:42 [SPEAKER_01]: that's it.
06:42 --> 06:48 [SPEAKER_01]: And then when he would put that sinker down inside the righties, they would pound it right into the dirt and they would ground out.
06:48 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's a fun fact today.
06:49 --> 06:52 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not even just a price thing today about pitch efficiency.
06:52 --> 06:53 [SPEAKER_01]: The mayor's pitchers today.
06:54 --> 06:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Got a huge break from this blue jays lineup.
06:56 --> 07:01 [SPEAKER_01]: The blue jays don't strike out a whole lot as a lineup, but that's almost to their detriment today.
07:02 --> 07:05 [SPEAKER_01]: The mayor's pitchers through exactly 100 pitches today.
07:06 --> 07:09 [SPEAKER_01]: They almost throw a collective, or Maddox is a strikeout.
07:09 --> 07:12 [SPEAKER_01]: So a Maddox plus one as a pitching staff.
07:12 --> 07:34 [SPEAKER_01]: So you essentially let, you not only let a pitcher on, if you're the Blue Jays, you let a pitcher on three days rest, get through six innings on an incredibly efficient pitch count, and essentially bail out sort of the biggest weakness of pitching on short rest, which is not being able to throw 110 pitches if you need to, but they also made Andres Muñoz Matt Brashin, gave Spire completely available tomorrow as well.
07:35 --> 07:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and if we want to spend a second on those guys, number one, how nice was it to see Gabe Spire throw a nice ending.
07:40 --> 07:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Very nice.
07:41 --> 07:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Look, the Mariners need him.
07:43 --> 07:51 [SPEAKER_00]: They need not only need him to pitch, but need him to be prime Gabe Spire, and for his amazing is he's been all year, and everybody knows how great he's been.
07:52 --> 07:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you had a couple shaky outings in the tiger series that really didn't come at great times.
07:56 --> 08:04 [SPEAKER_00]: But to see him in game one of the ALCS bounce back and look like the games fire we all know and love needed that.
08:04 --> 08:13 [SPEAKER_00]: That might have been one of the most underrated storylines in this game is that with a two-run lead, you went back to Spire and he looked like completely normal dominant games fire.
08:13 --> 08:15 [SPEAKER_00]: That is a very good sign going forward.
08:16 --> 08:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and then Matt Brash.
08:16 --> 08:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll just throw eight pitches.
08:18 --> 08:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's find, get out of it.
08:19 --> 08:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Moonios, I'll just shut it down on the 9th.
08:21 --> 08:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Also, eight pitches.
08:21 --> 08:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
08:22 --> 08:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Blue.
08:23 --> 08:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you have to thank the Blue J. So that because they were being very aggressive early in the count.
08:27 --> 08:29 [SPEAKER_01]: And they weren't doing anything with it.
08:29 --> 08:30 [SPEAKER_01]: And now they're deflated.
08:30 --> 08:32 [SPEAKER_01]: And now they're down one-on-one at home.
08:32 --> 08:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And think about this.
08:34 --> 08:36 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners now know in this series.
08:37 --> 08:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Logan Gilbert's going to pitch tomorrow on Monday.
08:40 --> 08:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Brian Lewis also going to pitch later in the series.
08:43 --> 08:46 [SPEAKER_01]: And so his George Kirby, the blue jays are going to have to be of those three.
08:46 --> 08:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Not even counting Luis Castillo's got a two and a half year at home.
08:49 --> 08:52 [SPEAKER_01]: The mayors are going to have to be those, the blue jays are going to have to be those three.
08:53 --> 08:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Four combined times to win the series.
08:55 --> 08:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or at least math.
08:57 --> 09:00 [SPEAKER_01]: I can't do math, but they're going to have, it's tough for the blue jays now.
09:01 --> 09:02 [SPEAKER_01]: The point being bad podcast map.
09:02 --> 09:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's ASU math is what it is.
09:05 --> 09:05 [SPEAKER_00]: It is.
09:06 --> 09:09 [SPEAKER_00]: The mariners are going to get three of these games at home.
09:09 --> 09:13 [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get Brian Wuth rowing at home, where he obviously deals.
09:13 --> 09:14 [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get a Louise think.
09:15 --> 09:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, they said later in the series, I can't imagine that's later than game five.
09:19 --> 09:20 [SPEAKER_00]: And if it's game five, it'll be at home.
09:21 --> 09:22 [SPEAKER_00]: If it's game four, it'll be at home.
09:22 --> 09:23 [SPEAKER_00]: So we would home.
09:24 --> 09:26 [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get Castillo at home, where he dominates.
09:26 --> 09:27 [SPEAKER_00]: You get Kirby at home.
09:27 --> 09:29 [SPEAKER_01]: So Castillo game three now, we're thinking?
09:29 --> 09:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
09:30 --> 09:36 [SPEAKER_01]: So Logan's going to pitch tomorrow, game two, Castillo game three, Kirby game four, and we'll game five.
09:37 --> 09:44 [SPEAKER_01]: And then you'll flip Logan game six, Kirby, or everyone game seven, I guess.
09:44 --> 09:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
09:44 --> 09:46 [SPEAKER_00]: And also, it depends on when we was ready.
09:46 --> 09:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was ready game four, a pitch game four.
09:48 --> 09:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
09:49 --> 09:49 [SPEAKER_00]: But...
09:50 --> 09:55 [SPEAKER_00]: The point is, the Mariners stole game one by put it Logan Gilbert out on the mound and game two.
09:55 --> 09:57 [SPEAKER_00]: They're going for throats in Toronto.
09:57 --> 09:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
09:59 --> 10:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Originally, I thought they might have to go cast the out and that's obviously not a perfect matchup because he does really struggle on the road.
10:04 --> 10:11 [SPEAKER_00]: But by going a Logan on the road, in Toronto, who is on normal rest, by the way, because I know he threw the couple innings in the 15 inning thriller.
10:12 --> 10:17 [SPEAKER_00]: But that was his bullpen day, so we didn't really throw that many more pitches than he normally would on that day.
10:17 --> 10:23 [SPEAKER_00]: So he's on pretty normal rest and they've got a chance to seriously step on the BlueJace the Roads tomorrow.
10:23 --> 10:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Because if you're up to nothing, go back to Seattle and then again, you get Castillo Woo Kirby.
10:28 --> 10:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're in a really good spot and the BlueJace would get to the point where they're going to have to throw.
10:34 --> 10:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Shane Bieber in Game 3, who has not looked great in the postseason, you're going to throw Max Scherzer and Chris Bassett combined in Game 4, who Bassett's been on the I.L.
10:43 --> 10:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's had a solid year, but again, he's coming off an injury.
10:46 --> 10:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Max Scherzer, who knows what you're going to get out of him.
10:50 --> 10:50 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
10:51 --> 10:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Winning that game one does so much for the Mariners.
10:55 --> 10:58 [SPEAKER_00]: And again, you have a chance to stop on some throats tomorrow.
10:58 --> 10:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Just the pitching event.
10:59 --> 11:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's your number five against their number one and you want.
11:02 --> 11:03 [SPEAKER_01]: And I'll pitch them right.
11:03 --> 11:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Kevin Gosman is the Blue Jays number one starter.
11:06 --> 11:09 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to be easy tomorrow against Tray Savage.
11:09 --> 11:11 [SPEAKER_01]: He's been really good this postseason.
11:11 --> 11:17 [SPEAKER_01]: His stuff is really dynamic and the Mariners might swing him a little bit tomorrow.
11:17 --> 11:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Perhaps even more than it was against Kevin Gosman.
11:20 --> 11:20 [SPEAKER_01]: But he is a rookie.
11:21 --> 11:22 [SPEAKER_01]: It is the playoffs.
11:22 --> 11:24 [SPEAKER_01]: This is a better lineup than the one he faced in New York.
11:26 --> 11:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Things can sack up a little bit.
11:27 --> 11:31 [SPEAKER_01]: And what do you know, the mayor said a couple of the ballpark, rattle, maran a little bit, and then what do you know?
11:31 --> 11:33 [SPEAKER_01]: He might be a little flustered in that moment.
11:33 --> 11:34 [SPEAKER_00]: There's no doubt.
11:35 --> 11:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about the offense a little bit.
11:37 --> 11:40 [SPEAKER_00]: And then I would say that's just about a podcast.
11:40 --> 11:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, before we talk about the offense, can we just give a shout-out to our friends here at Moss Bay Hall?
11:44 --> 11:45 [SPEAKER_01]: This has been last to them.
11:46 --> 11:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Lift the glass to our friends over at Moss Bay Hall.
11:48 --> 11:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, we've done a couple of these watch parties over at Queen Ambeur Hall.
11:52 --> 11:54 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we've done a bunch of live events in Oxford, the dental hall.
11:54 --> 11:57 [SPEAKER_00]: We've done a couple of events here at Moss Bay Hall in Kirkland.
11:57 --> 11:58 [SPEAKER_00]: It was awesome tonight.
11:58 --> 11:59 [SPEAKER_00]: At Miss Fear was electric.
11:59 --> 12:01 [SPEAKER_00]: We had a ton of podcast supporters out.
12:01 --> 12:02 [SPEAKER_00]: We had a ton of Mariners fans.
12:03 --> 12:04 [SPEAKER_00]: It was packed in the place.
12:04 --> 12:05 [SPEAKER_00]: People were going crazy.
12:05 --> 12:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Such a fun environment.
12:07 --> 12:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
12:08 --> 12:12 [SPEAKER_01]: It is one of the better places to go watch a Marinagame in the Seattle area.
12:13 --> 12:14 [SPEAKER_01]: probably are favorite.
12:14 --> 12:15 [SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's pretty awesome.
12:16 --> 12:28 [SPEAKER_01]: And if you're around any of the three hall locations, whether you're down by the ballpark on Occidental, whether you're in queen and in the Seattle or you can go to queen and beer hall, the OG, or if you're over here on the east side, come check out Moss Bay Hall and Kirkland, the food's great.
12:29 --> 12:30 [SPEAKER_01]: You can get as much to drink as you want.
12:30 --> 12:31 [SPEAKER_01]: You get a leader of this.
12:31 --> 12:32 [SPEAKER_01]: This is 16 ounces.
12:32 --> 12:33 [SPEAKER_01]: You can get more than this.
12:33 --> 12:35 [SPEAKER_01]: If you really want, come here.
12:35 --> 12:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Come watch the mayor's environment was fantastic.
12:37 --> 12:40 [SPEAKER_00]: And our friends at Savage Brewing were out tonight too, which was great.
12:41 --> 12:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Lofa to Tupus, a huge part of Savage Brewing will, who's the owner of it, awesome dude.
12:45 --> 12:47 [SPEAKER_00]: They were out and full displayed tonight.
12:47 --> 12:48 [SPEAKER_00]: They were all getting all fired up.
12:48 --> 12:49 [SPEAKER_00]: It was really fun.
12:49 --> 12:50 [SPEAKER_01]: It was a blast.
12:50 --> 12:52 [SPEAKER_00]: It was a lot of really, there was a lot of people here.
12:52 --> 12:56 [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, for those of you who know on the mark, he's big on social media.
12:56 --> 12:57 [SPEAKER_00]: He's the guy who cuts all the mariners.
12:58 --> 13:19 [SPEAKER_00]: hair like he's he's the Mariners hair cut guy he was here um... oh we have some podcast fans here shout out to our friend landin who made us some marine layer pod cards this was sick like he shows up cards cards leaves there's a space on here to autograph it and he says hey can you guys sign these cards and we're like this is the coolest thing i've ever seen i mean they look like tops cards but they're us
13:19 --> 13:22 [SPEAKER_01]: So now we have our own exclusive card isn't it it's pretty cool.
13:22 --> 13:23 [SPEAKER_00]: It is really really cool.
13:23 --> 13:27 [SPEAKER_00]: So overall the event was great shout out to our friends here at at the hall here at Moss Bay.
13:28 --> 13:28 [SPEAKER_00]: What a blast.
13:29 --> 13:31 [SPEAKER_01]: What hitter should we start on do we should we start on cow?
13:33 --> 13:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Love you cow, but no we need to start on polo again this man.
13:39 --> 13:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll say it again.
13:40 --> 13:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Could you imagine if he had signed in Houston this off season, that makes me want a vomit thinking about it because they are not here anywhere near here without Jorge Polaco.
13:51 --> 14:05 [SPEAKER_00]: If you thought the man couldn't get any more clutch, then his 50th inning walkoff capper in the ALDS, then hit in two homers off-target scuba, then being the most clutch hitter in major league baseball this season, look it up on fangrass by clutch factor.
14:05 --> 14:05 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a real stat.
14:08 --> 14:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Two more RBI hits tonight.
14:10 --> 14:11 [SPEAKER_00]: It's unbelievable.
14:11 --> 14:13 [SPEAKER_01]: The go ahead and then the insurance run.
14:14 --> 14:18 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not enough for him to just be the most clutch player in baseball during the regular season.
14:19 --> 14:22 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, also needs to take the crown as the most clutch player in the postseason.
14:22 --> 14:27 [SPEAKER_01]: And it seems like as the lights get bigger and bigger and brighter and brighter.
14:27 --> 14:28 [SPEAKER_01]: He keeps stepping up.
14:28 --> 14:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to keep bringing up what you keep saying about him.
14:30 --> 14:36 [SPEAKER_01]: His demeanor is so calm, cool, collected, relaxed, balanced.
14:38 --> 14:39 [SPEAKER_01]: And it works out that he's a switch hit or two.
14:40 --> 14:44 [SPEAKER_01]: So whatever the matchup is, he's always gonna find himself in a favorable matchup for his sense.
14:44 --> 14:49 [SPEAKER_01]: He's had clutch hits this year as both, or in this, in this postseason, as both the righty.
14:50 --> 14:56 [SPEAKER_01]: And as a lefty and you saw that here tonight again, they're bringing in pictures to switch him around and it does not matter.
14:56 --> 14:59 [SPEAKER_01]: And he shows up and he knocks in a clutch hit.
15:00 --> 15:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Given that the guys in front of him can be a little volatile at times with their swing and miss in Julio and Cal.
15:06 --> 15:08 [SPEAKER_01]: That's not a problem with Polanco at all.
15:08 --> 15:10 [SPEAKER_01]: And it comes through in the biggest moments.
15:10 --> 15:13 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we sat here during the game and said it.
15:13 --> 15:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Are Julio and Cal the biggest stars on the team?
15:15 --> 15:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Of course they are.
15:16 --> 15:16 [SPEAKER_00]: But.
15:17 --> 15:40 [SPEAKER_00]: we know sometimes they have some swing and miss in their game and they will punch out and it's just part of who they are doesn't mean they're not stars they are but in that situation when you need it a clutch hit or you need it a sack fly i turn to you and said there anybody else you want up in the scenario and we're both like no polo nailer both of them are insanely clutch and what is polo do like you said go ahead hit insurance run hit
15:40 --> 15:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I think Jorge Planco is the ultimate uniter of Mariners fans.
15:44 --> 15:45 [SPEAKER_01]: I really do think so.
15:45 --> 15:47 [SPEAKER_01]: What do people complain about the most last two years?
15:49 --> 15:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Just could not hit with runners in scoring position.
15:51 --> 15:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
15:52 --> 15:54 [SPEAKER_01]: And what's the biggest complaint about that specifically?
15:54 --> 15:56 [SPEAKER_01]: It's that they swing and miss way too much.
15:57 --> 15:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so Paolo doesn't swing and miss.
15:59 --> 16:02 [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't get out over his shoes.
16:02 --> 16:04 [SPEAKER_00]: He's relaxed and he just gets clutching.
16:04 --> 16:05 [SPEAKER_00]: And he still hits her power.
16:06 --> 16:08 [SPEAKER_01]: If you need him to take terrible yard twice in a game, he's there.
16:09 --> 16:09 [SPEAKER_01]: He's got you.
16:09 --> 16:11 [SPEAKER_01]: And he hits from both sides.
16:11 --> 16:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, hits from both sides.
16:12 --> 16:15 [SPEAKER_01]: There is going to be, I think, really the way it showed.
16:15 --> 16:19 [SPEAKER_01]: No more important player this postseason than Jorge Planco, because he's going to keep batting clean up.
16:20 --> 16:35 [SPEAKER_01]: guys you're going to go on in front of him, Randy, Julio, Cal, they might walk Cal, might walk Julio, and it's going to be up to Jorge Polanco to step up and drive those guys in like he did tonight and be the difference between the Mariners winning or perhaps going to extra innings again and we put out the cool card.
16:35 --> 16:37 [SPEAKER_01]: They're not allowed to play any more extra innings again.
16:37 --> 16:41 [SPEAKER_01]: That is banned from this podcast and from the playoffs as postseason.
16:41 --> 16:45 [SPEAKER_01]: No more extra innings in Jorge Polanco, make sure they didn't do it tonight.
16:45 --> 16:47 [SPEAKER_00]: I cannot take any more extra earnings at all.
16:48 --> 16:52 [SPEAKER_00]: And it's funny, I went into this game still so drained from Friday.
16:52 --> 17:01 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I was so drained that I said, look, knowing what the Mariners have to go up against in game one, like I'm not gonna freak out if they lose.
17:01 --> 17:04 [SPEAKER_00]: It, I understand what the matchup is today.
17:04 --> 17:10 [SPEAKER_00]: But then as the games starts to go on and they've got a lead and there's 12 outs to go and then there's nine outs to go.
17:11 --> 17:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, they might actually wait a couple of while.
17:13 --> 17:16 [SPEAKER_00]: And then I was planning it.
17:16 --> 17:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Believe me, I was planning a wake by the time they're scoring runs.
17:19 --> 17:23 [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm starting to get nervous again because I'm seeing them get out after out after out.
17:23 --> 17:26 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh my god, they could steal this win.
17:26 --> 17:28 [SPEAKER_00]: They could seriously steal this win.
17:28 --> 17:29 [SPEAKER_00]: And they did, they did.
17:30 --> 17:33 [SPEAKER_01]: It honestly didn't even feel like a steal at the end because they flat out just outplayed the blue chase.
17:34 --> 17:34 [SPEAKER_01]: What did they steal?
17:35 --> 17:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Blue chase.
17:35 --> 17:39 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like the blue chase sat there and handed the Mariners runs on silver platters.
17:40 --> 17:40 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners are just better.
17:42 --> 17:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I think we saw in this series-style, but this first game, the difference in pitching, there is we in their opponents.
17:48 --> 17:49 [SPEAKER_00]: There's no tarick scuba.
17:50 --> 17:50 [SPEAKER_00]: No.
17:50 --> 17:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Kevin Gaussman's really good.
17:51 --> 17:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Tray's savage, especially for being a rookie.
17:53 --> 17:53 [SPEAKER_00]: He's really good.
17:53 --> 17:54 [SPEAKER_01]: The bullpen arms.
17:54 --> 17:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, again, Troy Milton is going to haunt my dreams all off season, even though the Mariners won the series.
17:59 --> 18:01 [SPEAKER_01]: So Troy Milton and that, BlueJay's bullpen.
18:01 --> 18:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
18:01 --> 18:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Not really.
18:02 --> 18:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, there are BlueJays bullpen arms that are good and we highlighted some of them on Friday's episodes slash Saturday mornings episode.
18:09 --> 18:15 [SPEAKER_00]: But there's none that are just overpowering the guy Jeff Hoffman was supposed to be is that.
18:16 --> 18:17 [SPEAKER_00]: And he hasn't really been that this year.
18:17 --> 18:21 [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't pitch in game one, but he hasn't been that guy again.
18:21 --> 18:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Brendan Little's been good and Braden Fisher's been good, but they don't have
18:24 --> 18:26 [SPEAKER_00]: You're right, they don't have a toy melt.
18:26 --> 18:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
18:26 --> 18:30 [SPEAKER_01]: A Troy Melton or even a Will vest who's been really good this year.
18:30 --> 18:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Brant Herder has been really good this year as well for the Tigers like the Blue Jays don't.
18:34 --> 18:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Blue Jays are almost like a bottom third bullpen.
18:36 --> 18:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Bottom third pitching staff, period.
18:38 --> 18:41 [SPEAKER_01]: They are then the best stuff for them is going on the mound tomorrow.
18:41 --> 18:49 [SPEAKER_01]: And at the mayor's beat that, who by the way, they're going to counter with better stuff because they have five pitchers deep in the starting rotation, the Blue Jays do not.
18:50 --> 19:01 [SPEAKER_01]: So, once the mayor gets through trace, savage, and a victorious tomorrow, I mean, the Blue Jays to keep their season alive, season alive, are going to be going with aging, veterans who are not what they once were.
19:02 --> 19:05 [SPEAKER_01]: And the Mariners are going to feel really good.
19:05 --> 19:08 [SPEAKER_01]: All could change or the Blue Jays come and start hitting.
19:08 --> 19:10 [SPEAKER_01]: The Blue Jays offense did not show up tonight.
19:10 --> 19:14 [SPEAKER_01]: They are going to live and die by them scoring a ton of runs, and they did not score a ton of runs tonight.
19:14 --> 19:15 [SPEAKER_01]: That could change in this series.
19:16 --> 19:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I just keep the formula like this tonight.
19:18 --> 19:20 [SPEAKER_01]: You gotta be feeling really, really good.
19:21 --> 19:23 [SPEAKER_00]: The blue jays are the number one seed because of their offense.
19:23 --> 19:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
19:24 --> 19:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Their offense and show up tonight.
19:25 --> 19:25 [SPEAKER_00]: That's simple.
19:26 --> 19:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
19:27 --> 19:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Last thing, and then we can wrap up, we do have to talk about the fact that Cal just owns this entire country.
19:33 --> 19:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Or they, so they could, could Canada legally just kick them out tomorrow?
19:39 --> 19:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Do they have to forefend as a result?
19:42 --> 19:43 [SPEAKER_00]: even the mariners forfeit?
19:43 --> 19:44 [SPEAKER_00]: No, the blue jays.
19:44 --> 19:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Do they have to forfeit by kicking cow out of the country?
19:46 --> 19:50 [SPEAKER_01]: No, see, this is where it's different between dealing with like a league versus dealing with a government.
19:51 --> 19:52 [SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to do that tomorrow.
19:54 --> 19:55 [SPEAKER_01]: They won't, but they won't.
19:55 --> 20:01 [SPEAKER_01]: But if CalRolli keeps sending home runs, they might consider leaving him out of, not, not approving his visa for game six and seven.
20:01 --> 20:05 [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, unfortunately, he's the questions we have to answer now.
20:05 --> 20:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Cal's gonna continue to crush Blue J's pitching.
20:08 --> 20:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, Mariners down one nothing.
20:11 --> 20:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Facing Kevin Gosman.
20:13 --> 20:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Goodbye, the way.
20:14 --> 20:16 [SPEAKER_01]: In that breakout season, that CalRolli had.
20:17 --> 20:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Breakout season is 2022 rookie year, which really put him on the map.
20:20 --> 20:22 [SPEAKER_01]: First home run of the season was against.
20:23 --> 20:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Guardsman.
20:23 --> 20:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Guardsman's.
20:24 --> 20:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Same pitch.
20:25 --> 20:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Splitter hung up over the middle.
20:27 --> 20:29 [SPEAKER_01]: And that one cow hit the other way.
20:29 --> 20:31 [SPEAKER_01]: This one cow parked in the right field seats.
20:32 --> 20:34 [SPEAKER_00]: And cows first home run out of the 20, 22 playoffs.
20:34 --> 20:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wait, sorry.
20:35 --> 20:36 [SPEAKER_00]: That was Alec Manella.
20:36 --> 20:38 [SPEAKER_00]: But regardless, still Blue Jays.
20:38 --> 20:39 [SPEAKER_00]: How's she doing?
20:39 --> 20:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's not in the organization anymore.
20:42 --> 20:42 [SPEAKER_01]: I know.
20:43 --> 20:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's just check in.
20:44 --> 20:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, remember, dog pressure is only a thing you put in tires.
20:47 --> 20:50 [SPEAKER_01]: I was about to say, is that all you should remind of the blue jays of that tonight?
20:50 --> 20:52 [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, is that like me know if feeling any pressure these days?
20:53 --> 20:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Probably not.
20:53 --> 20:55 [SPEAKER_00]: He's with the braves who are not in the playoff.
20:56 --> 20:57 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very important thing.
20:59 --> 21:01 [SPEAKER_01]: But we're just running out of things to say about Cali.
21:01 --> 21:02 [SPEAKER_01]: It's steps up in the biggest moment.
21:02 --> 21:10 [SPEAKER_01]: He, in the first postseason where he has been the center star of a team has delivered at the plate.
21:10 --> 21:12 [SPEAKER_01]: The swing at this has not been as much of a problem.
21:12 --> 21:13 [SPEAKER_01]: He's just delivered.
21:14 --> 21:15 [SPEAKER_01]: It's what you want.
21:16 --> 21:18 [SPEAKER_01]: What time does, what time does Aaron judge in the Yankees play tomorrow?
21:19 --> 21:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what time do the Yankees play tomorrow?
21:22 --> 21:23 [SPEAKER_01]: What time is it in Cancun?
21:23 --> 21:25 [SPEAKER_01]: What time is two?
21:25 --> 21:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, actually two.
21:26 --> 21:26 [SPEAKER_01]: What is it?
21:26 --> 21:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Two, oh, two, oh, two, oh, three.
21:29 --> 21:31 [SPEAKER_01]: What time is two or three in Cancun tomorrow?
21:31 --> 21:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Give me a sec.
21:32 --> 21:35 [SPEAKER_00]: This is what's great about iPhones as you can look up times on a world clock.
21:35 --> 21:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Two, oh, two, oh, three in Cancun.
21:38 --> 21:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Mexico.
21:39 --> 21:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Cancun, Mexico.
21:40 --> 21:41 [SPEAKER_00]: It is currently 11, 27.
21:42 --> 21:42 [SPEAKER_00]: So you know what?
21:43 --> 21:43 [SPEAKER_01]: There's still there.
21:43 --> 21:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Two hours ahead right now.
21:44 --> 21:48 [SPEAKER_01]: So that'll be 403 first pitch for the Yankees tomorrow.
21:48 --> 21:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Watching at the resort in Cancun.
21:50 --> 21:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Good.
21:51 --> 21:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Aaron Judgen joined the beach.
21:52 --> 21:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe getting some nice dacres.
21:54 --> 21:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
21:55 --> 21:59 [SPEAKER_01]: he works so hard this season to get his team as far as possible.
21:59 --> 21:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Might as well relax.
22:00 --> 22:01 [SPEAKER_00]: It must be a really sad time.
22:01 --> 22:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I know Kankoon's lovely and I know the beach is probably great, but it's going to be hard if you're Aaron judge and you have to sit there.
22:07 --> 22:10 [SPEAKER_00]: You don't get to play in postseason baseball and you're watching the MVP.
22:10 --> 22:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Carious team.
22:11 --> 22:13 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it must be a really hard time for Yankee Band.
22:13 --> 22:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Postseason's allow are just reserved for gimmicks.
22:15 --> 22:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's it.
22:16 --> 22:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Like Aaron, like Aaron Judge.
22:17 --> 22:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
22:18 --> 22:21 [SPEAKER_01]: No, I know the continuing to play.
22:21 --> 22:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I only reserved for gimmicks, like how we're on it.
22:23 --> 22:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I forgot.
22:24 --> 22:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not real.
22:25 --> 22:27 [SPEAKER_00]: insert that Ryan Damien right here.
22:28 --> 22:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I want to know where Tiki Barber is right now.
22:32 --> 22:33 [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I have to say.
22:34 --> 22:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I can't do that in a post-game interview.
22:36 --> 22:39 [SPEAKER_01]: That would be, I mean, so he pulls a Cory Seeger.
22:39 --> 22:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Cory Seeger after the 23 season when he interviewed is like, man, I love spending money.
22:44 --> 22:44 [SPEAKER_01]: This is great.
22:44 --> 22:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Cows like, I'm a Tiki Barber right now.
22:50 --> 22:50 [SPEAKER_00]: If Cal did that,
22:51 --> 22:54 [SPEAKER_00]: He's already an absolute legend in the city.
22:54 --> 22:56 [SPEAKER_00]: That might get him a statue alone if he did that.
22:56 --> 22:57 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm down.
22:58 --> 22:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Fun stuff.
22:59 --> 22:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my goodness.
23:00 --> 23:04 [SPEAKER_01]: If you guys need a place to watch Moss Bay Hall tomorrow, like what 203 first pitch.
23:04 --> 23:06 [SPEAKER_01]: That's when it is roughly awesome place to go.
23:07 --> 23:10 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be locked in one zero Mariners.
23:10 --> 23:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Three wins away from the world series.
23:13 --> 23:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Actually, forgot to check this.
23:14 --> 23:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone who's listening to this is going to absolutely screaming yell that I don't know this, because we're diehard Mariners fans and I don't know this.
23:22 --> 23:28 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners won game one of an ALCS before they have you don't have to look it up in 95 They won game one again.
23:28 --> 23:29 [SPEAKER_01]: It's Cleveland good.
23:29 --> 23:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I should I clearly didn't pay close enough attention to the DVD Yeah, so they have won a game one.
23:34 --> 23:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they've won two actually.
23:35 --> 23:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there you go.
23:36 --> 23:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry Third game one win ever in ALCS for the Mariners
23:40 --> 24:09 [SPEAKER_01]: three more wins three more from legitimately uncharted territory just again i i don't want people to get their expectations up too high until they're legitimately about to clinch because that's how we break hearts and people play muster things and we don't want to do that we want everyone to have be in a good mood yes the Mariners the Mariners the rest of the series will be throwing that's the only brisemillers start the stairs i'll almost guarantee that the Mariners will either be throwing Logan Gilbert Brian Wu George Kirby or Louise Castillo
24:10 --> 24:23 [SPEAKER_01]: to go clinch a chance, go clinch an appearance in the World Series, where they will have the pitching advantage in every single game going forward, every single game.
24:23 --> 24:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Let that sink in as you go to bed tonight.
24:25 --> 24:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Even again, you mean again for Blue Jays?
24:26 --> 24:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
24:27 --> 24:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
24:28 --> 24:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
