00:23 --> 00:25 [SPEAKER_01]: You can check all our stuff out or our website as well.

00:32 --> 00:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get it rolling.
00:47 --> 01:00 [SPEAKER_00]: And we welcome you to this episode of the Marine Lair podcast part of the just baseball podcast network recording here on Wednesday evening December 24th recording a day early this episode will come out on Friday morning.
01:00 --> 01:01 [SPEAKER_00]: What are the odds?
01:03 --> 01:08 [SPEAKER_00]: We get screwed over and we have to scrap this and record a different podcast like if Jerry signed someone on Christmas.
01:09 --> 01:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know what two years ago today was, right, as of time of recording, Mitch Garver, but we hadn't recorded yet.
01:15 --> 01:17 [SPEAKER_00]: So it were honestly it worked out fine.
01:18 --> 01:26 [SPEAKER_00]: And I remember that, because like, you know, me, my family do stuff on Christmas Eve all the time, but it was like a nice dead period that jury just kind of snuck that deal.
01:26 --> 01:28 [SPEAKER_00]: And so it worked out.
01:28 --> 01:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're recording a little before five o'clock here on a Wednesday on Christmas Eve.
01:33 --> 01:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was a round that time.
01:34 --> 01:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I think that the trade broke because I know you guys are always out at Pike Place market in the mornings a lot of the time on Christmas Eve.
01:40 --> 01:41 [SPEAKER_01]: But you must have been back by then.
01:41 --> 01:47 [SPEAKER_00]: No, I was just sitting, I think I was just sitting around watching, because the Hawaii bulls usually the only game on tonight.
01:47 --> 01:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's literally what I was watching.
01:49 --> 01:54 [SPEAKER_00]: And then he said, then he signed and it's like, I don't even think we thought we were going to do a podcast.
01:54 --> 01:55 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, should we?
01:55 --> 01:57 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, yeah, I guess, that's fine.
01:57 --> 02:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because it was the biggest contract they've ever given out to a position player at that time.
02:02 --> 02:03 [SPEAKER_01]: So a free agent contract.
02:04 --> 02:06 [SPEAKER_01]: So we were like, yeah, we should probably do one.
02:06 --> 02:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Plus, the previous couple weeks of that offseason had gone so piss poor, that we figured people needed some positivity.
02:13 --> 02:17 [SPEAKER_01]: So in fact, I was taking a nap that day, I remember I'd fallen asleep.
02:17 --> 02:20 [SPEAKER_01]: my brother woke me up when he saw the news.
02:21 --> 02:26 [SPEAKER_01]: He was just like, while wake up, it's like, they made a signing and I kind of snapped away.
02:26 --> 02:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I looked and my first words were just, thank God.
02:30 --> 02:36 [SPEAKER_00]: I think those were those the last time he said those words about Mitch Garver.
02:38 --> 02:48 [SPEAKER_01]: it must have been or when he hit that walk off home or against the braze when he struggled terribly in April that first year and then he hit the walk off home and he basically felt the whole the same way as the whole city.
02:48 --> 02:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Remember where he kind of like just chucks his bat in the air out of relief and closes his eyes on that?
02:53 --> 02:56 [SPEAKER_00]: The only other time I said that is when he had the sack flag and scuba.
02:57 --> 02:57 [SPEAKER_00]: That was it.
02:58 --> 02:58 [SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
02:58 --> 03:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Because they had Nailur on third and then I was like oh I think it's like he didn't strike out thank god.
03:03 --> 03:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they think goodness.
03:06 --> 03:11 [SPEAKER_00]: So we're hedging right now as we're sitting here recording this on Wednesday.
03:12 --> 03:20 [SPEAKER_00]: But Jerry doesn't trade for bread and donovan on Christmas day can can Jerry make it an entire holiday where he should.
03:20 --> 03:23 [SPEAKER_00]: perhaps, or what I don't know, Jerry celebrates.
03:23 --> 03:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm in this scenario that also me celebrates Christmas.
03:26 --> 03:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And Hope Jerry just has his phone down for the entire day.
03:31 --> 03:33 [SPEAKER_00]: No talking, no talking to High and Bloom.
03:34 --> 03:34 [SPEAKER_00]: No, none of that.
03:34 --> 03:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Only his family.
03:36 --> 03:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, dude, if you're a baseball exec, making a trade on Christmas day, you've got to be a real psycho.
03:41 --> 03:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, even they spend time with their families.
03:44 --> 03:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Do we think A.G. Preler spends time with his family?
03:48 --> 03:50 [SPEAKER_00]: probably what makes you think of him.
03:51 --> 03:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Cause it didn't ever stop working even more than Jerry.
03:55 --> 03:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's true.
03:56 --> 04:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we've seen with our own two eyes and you walk past AJ, probably.
04:00 --> 04:07 [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about this when the Padres came in town because Lala were doing some bullpen banner stuff with the Padres and we're just hanging out in front of their dugout.
04:07 --> 04:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Here comes AJ.
04:09 --> 04:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it looks like he just woke up from a nap.
04:11 --> 04:34 [SPEAKER_00]: uh... i think it's closer wrinkled he had huge bags under his eyes uh... it looked like degeneracy except age-a-prodler's form of degeneracy is trading so he'd be the one to make a trade on christmas yeah he would there there is going to be a second while there i could totally see correct brislow the red socks being a trade on christmas he seems like
04:35 --> 04:47 [SPEAKER_01]: like that kind of guy it's possible but again takes two to tango don't these other execs have their phones down on Christmas you think let's hope
04:48 --> 04:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's hope so.
04:49 --> 04:51 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what we're hedging right now.
04:51 --> 04:54 [SPEAKER_00]: If there's no trade, then you'll hear this mailback episode on Friday morning.
04:55 --> 05:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Before we get into this mailback episode, just want to remind everybody, if you want priority for these episodes, the place to go is our Patreon, patreon.com slash marine layer pod.
05:04 --> 05:09 [SPEAKER_00]: If you sign up for our Patreon, here are some perks that you can get, depending on which tier you choose.
05:09 --> 05:13 [SPEAKER_00]: You can get ad free episodes, you can get mailbag priority.
05:14 --> 05:18 [SPEAKER_00]: So your questions will get answered every week
05:18 --> 05:29 [SPEAKER_00]: And then, if this fancy zoo, you can get on a monthly video call with Lala and I will answer all the mayor's questions or live questions, you can just hang out with us every single month.
05:30 --> 05:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Really cool opportunity there, patreon.com slash marine layer pod.
05:34 --> 05:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I know the people won't hear the the discount will run out by the time by the time the episode comes out.
05:40 --> 05:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to mention our merch was running through Christmas going to be 20% off with code marine layer.
05:46 --> 05:48 [SPEAKER_00]: But unfortunately that code expires.
05:49 --> 05:52 [SPEAKER_00]: But there's still a great opportunity for you guys to go check out.
05:52 --> 05:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Marine layer pod.com slash merch.
05:54 --> 05:56 [SPEAKER_00]: We have some new new items up there if you're interested.
05:56 --> 05:58 [SPEAKER_00]: So go take a look at it.
05:59 --> 05:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, wow.
06:00 --> 06:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Bryson on Patreon starts it off.
06:02 --> 06:03 [SPEAKER_00]: This is a diabolical question.
06:04 --> 06:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to you, Bryson, for asking this.
06:05 --> 06:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I know you know your stuff and you know like deep about the systems of a lot of these teams.
06:12 --> 06:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Bryson's question is, what is your favorite non-ranked, meaning not in the top 30, Mariners prospect at every level in the system?
06:22 --> 06:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, yeah, that is a diabolical question.
06:28 --> 06:29 [SPEAKER_01]: You can go first on this one.
06:29 --> 06:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm curious what you cook up.
06:32 --> 06:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I agreed with him on Triple A.
06:33 --> 06:38 [SPEAKER_00]: There's not a, see, there's not a ton of options for Triple A because most of them aren't prospects.
06:38 --> 06:40 [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of them are minor league free agents.
06:40 --> 06:41 [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not going to count that.
06:42 --> 06:45 [SPEAKER_00]: So he said Spencer Packard all say Spencer Packard as well.
06:45 --> 06:47 [SPEAKER_00]: The roster for Tacoma right now is pretty barren.
06:47 --> 06:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So not a lot to choose from.
06:49 --> 06:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Double A.
06:51 --> 06:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Double A, I think I'll choose our guy, Danny, or Chansky.
06:55 --> 06:58 [SPEAKER_00]: He's the best.
06:59 --> 07:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Hi A, here's a name, he follows us on Instagram, likes all of our stuff, super excited to watch him, a fellow sun devil, and a draft pick of this upcoming year of this past year, Lucas Kelly.
07:12 --> 07:16 [SPEAKER_00]: He had my favorite video, literally, of a strikeout, my entire draft.
07:17 --> 07:24 [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to watch him, and then whatever the Abel team is, I know.
07:24 --> 07:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I think you only asked us to do Hi A Double A Triple A.
07:27 --> 07:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, he had one in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in,
07:57 --> 08:17 [SPEAKER_01]: essentially non-existent there's only what ten guys on that roster right now because I'm filled it out so if I had to pick obviously can't pick gold emerson but I probably go to the victorlabrata just because he's been around forever and he's been in some forever and again there's so many guys you can choose from on that right near his roster
08:17 --> 08:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Double A similar to you where I'm going to pick one of our guys, but different left hander I'm going to go with revamp scooter who is like an OG OG Marine layer pod guest and Marine layer pod guy who is the man by the way and he was minor league pitcher of the year in 2023 last year it was kind of unfortunate a lot of those guys we really like in double a
08:39 --> 08:41 [SPEAKER_01]: read Michael Morales.
08:41 --> 08:49 [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of them started the year late because they battled some injuries where they didn't get out of spring training on time, and they have to play from behind and do some catch-up all year.
08:49 --> 08:50 [SPEAKER_01]: But
08:50 --> 08:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man.
08:51 --> 08:56 [SPEAKER_01]: For read, I hope he comes back and really just light it up again in 26 because we're rooting our asses off for him.
08:57 --> 08:58 [SPEAKER_01]: I would say Luke is Kelly's same thing in hi-A.
08:59 --> 09:01 [SPEAKER_01]: When we saw, we got to have a son devil in the system.
09:01 --> 09:03 [SPEAKER_01]: We were like, yes, because there wasn't one.
09:03 --> 09:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there'd been one since we started this podcast.
09:06 --> 09:07 [SPEAKER_01]: We're like, hell yeah.
09:08 --> 09:09 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's awesome, too.
09:09 --> 09:11 [SPEAKER_01]: He, like, we're the meta-men person yet.
09:11 --> 09:12 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking forward to meeting him and spring training.
09:13 --> 09:14 [SPEAKER_01]: But,
09:14 --> 09:15 [SPEAKER_01]: he's yeah, he's the man.
09:15 --> 09:19 [SPEAKER_01]: You want to explain to people what that video was that you're talking about by the way with the strike out.
09:19 --> 09:40 [SPEAKER_00]: He struck he struck some dude out with like a we if you want to go back to our episode with Joe Doyle that we did after the draft we we talked specifically about this video and I and I and I said like this is my favorite thing I've ever seen so Lucas Kelly throws from like a he he he sinks down a little bit like Brian we were right he's got this this
09:40 --> 09:54 [SPEAKER_00]: that he throws from and he threw this insane 99 mile an hour fastball with just crazy carry that just blew the doors off this guy and Joe tweets out that highlight when they drafted him I'm like oh fuck.
09:56 --> 09:57 [SPEAKER_00]: that's something you can work with.
09:57 --> 10:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Joe did say, hey, look, that's like the best pitch you through all year, but let's hope the Mariners can get more of those kind of pitches out of them.
10:05 --> 10:06 [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, wow.
10:06 --> 10:08 [SPEAKER_00]: And then all of a sudden, he's like an over-step on Instagram.
10:08 --> 10:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, perfect.
10:09 --> 10:10 [SPEAKER_00]: This is great.
10:11 --> 10:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Shout out Lucas Cali, dude.
10:12 --> 10:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, they...
10:13 --> 10:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's to him being minor league pitcher of the year next year.
10:16 --> 10:16 [SPEAKER_01]: How about that?
10:17 --> 10:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
10:17 --> 10:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Just I don't know.
10:18 --> 10:22 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I wouldn't say shock everybody, but just yeah, go do your thing.
10:22 --> 10:26 [SPEAKER_01]: If I mean, it's hard to pick a low-A guy because they currently don't have a team.
10:27 --> 10:29 [SPEAKER_01]: So they're, you know, they're relocating.
10:30 --> 10:37 [SPEAKER_01]: But if you want me to pick somebody out of the complex league, I mean, just to add one more.
10:37 --> 10:41 [SPEAKER_01]: See, for a while, I actually like that George Feliz kid, but I think he's somewhere else now too.
10:42 --> 10:46 [SPEAKER_01]: So I would have said him, I obviously can't pick Kate Anderson.
10:46 --> 10:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's in your heart in the top 30, right, because the sign here's the top Who's this is top international sign at your obitista?
10:55 --> 10:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's I mean he's in the top 30.
10:58 --> 11:01 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah Let's just go with let's go with Lucas Cali revenge good or Victor Lebrada.
11:02 --> 11:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's about as good as we could do thank you Bryson if you have some more names for us Please just send us a message on page your on because
11:09 --> 11:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we know a lot.
11:10 --> 11:11 [SPEAKER_00]: We do know a lot, Lyle.
11:11 --> 11:15 [SPEAKER_00]: That might be a trading a little bit out of our water with that question.
11:15 --> 11:19 [SPEAKER_01]: We know a lot of the prospects, but you really have got a dig deep for that question.
11:19 --> 11:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
11:20 --> 11:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Next question comes from Teddy on Patreon and Teddy's question is what's going on with Ryan Bliss is going to be back in healthy in 2026?
11:28 --> 11:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Will he make the roster?
11:30 --> 11:36 [SPEAKER_01]: He should be back healthy in terms of making the roster feels like it's gonna be tough, especially if the Mariners go get another second basement.
11:37 --> 11:43 [SPEAKER_01]: You'll see him a bunch in spring training and he'll play in a bunch of the games, but I think he starts the year in Triple A.
11:43 --> 11:47 [SPEAKER_01]: It just feels like that's where he'll...
11:47 --> 12:04 [SPEAKER_01]: begin the year you'll probably see him at some points throughout the season because there's injuries and you need extra guys and again he's still young and still has some potential but I just think with the crowded second base spot right now and it may get even more crowded if they go get Donovan or somebody else could tell it's going to be hard for Ryan Bliss.
12:06 --> 12:07 [SPEAKER_00]: It's frustrating for him.
12:07 --> 12:08 [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like he's a big leager.
12:08 --> 12:13 [SPEAKER_00]: He's got to be a big, not a big leager on the Mariners, but he's a big leager somewhere.
12:14 --> 12:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Like there's got to be a team out there that would give him a chance to play on the infield and play second base.
12:19 --> 12:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Second base is not the most offensively deep position in Major League Baseball, and we've seen Ryan Bliss able to hold his own in short spurts of second base.
12:27 --> 12:32 [SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like the dude needs a chance, but he's not going to get that chance in Seattle, which stinks for him.
12:32 --> 12:33 [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
12:33 --> 12:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like he could be a trade piece.
12:34 --> 12:36 [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to get thrown in somewhere.
12:36 --> 12:42 [SPEAKER_00]: It's good to have this depth in the minor leagues But the Mariners would be bleeding any potential value.
12:42 --> 12:44 [SPEAKER_00]: He would have an opportunity for him.
12:44 --> 12:47 [SPEAKER_00]: It, you know, works for both sides If he just hangs out into coma more.
12:48 --> 12:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
12:49 --> 12:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
12:50 --> 12:57 [SPEAKER_01]: I hope he got the chance one way or another is great dude But it is just going to be crowded in second base
12:57 --> 13:01 [SPEAKER_00]: he would have to dominate Koliang to have a chance.
13:02 --> 13:07 [SPEAKER_00]: They would need to, the two of them would need to show up to spring training and Ryan Bliss looked like looks different.
13:07 --> 13:08 [SPEAKER_00]: He's running different.
13:09 --> 13:11 [SPEAKER_00]: His glove takes a big step forward.
13:11 --> 13:18 [SPEAKER_00]: He's got these exit velocities that are popping off the bat and then Koliang would need to just not look like himself.
13:18 --> 13:20 [SPEAKER_00]: in spring training, for I think Ryan Bliss to have any shot.
13:20 --> 13:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Ryan Bliss's other issue is that he's only a second baseman.
13:24 --> 13:25 [SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to play short.
13:25 --> 13:26 [SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to play third.
13:27 --> 13:33 [SPEAKER_00]: So that kind of fits him into this really tiny window of opportunity for himself.
13:33 --> 13:36 [SPEAKER_00]: That's why guys like Brennan Donovan are so valuable.
13:37 --> 13:42 [SPEAKER_00]: When you can play more than one spot, it makes you it makes it a lot easier to just if I have a new on the roster.
13:43 --> 13:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Next question comes from Nick on Patreon.
13:46 --> 13:48 [SPEAKER_00]: This one's going to be right up your alley Lyle.
13:48 --> 13:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you guys really think it's possible for Colt Emerson to come up mid season?
13:52 --> 13:56 [SPEAKER_00]: And for Dan Wilson to put him in the lineup every day over JP Crawford.
13:59 --> 14:03 [SPEAKER_00]: He's asking, will Colt Emerson just replace JP?
14:03 --> 14:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
14:04 --> 14:07 [SPEAKER_00]: And Nick, Nick is saying this because he doesn't believe Dan will do that.
14:07 --> 14:16 [SPEAKER_00]: He said he puts JP Crawford in the same bucket as Dylan Moore in terms of guys they just don't want to get off the roster.
14:17 --> 14:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I can't do that.
14:18 --> 14:19 [SPEAKER_01]: That's not fair.
14:19 --> 14:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I understand JPS is deficiencies defensively at short stop.
14:23 --> 14:38 [SPEAKER_01]: But guys, let's remember, before Dylan Moore was off the roster, he was on the team to hit left handed pitching and be versatile, he had a 140 OPS for three months straight against left handed pitching.
14:39 --> 14:43 [SPEAKER_01]: JP Crawford doesn't even hit lefties fantastically, but he ain't doing that.
14:43 --> 14:44 [SPEAKER_01]: He's not doing that.
14:44 --> 14:45 [SPEAKER_01]: He's a solid hitter.
14:46 --> 14:48 [SPEAKER_00]: JP Crawford's a two to three-win player.
14:48 --> 14:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't he a three-win player last year?
14:50 --> 14:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
14:51 --> 14:52 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't have the number up.
14:52 --> 14:52 [SPEAKER_00]: I can look.
14:53 --> 14:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I look while you talk.
14:54 --> 15:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I will say while you look it up, the way Nick started this question is, not enough talk about Dan's terrible decision making this offseason.
15:01 --> 15:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Listen, we haven't exactly been shy to criticize the way Dan manages games, but the moves that get made aren't, oh wait, he's saying this offseason we haven't talked to Dan Wilson's in-game managing it up, I'm going to be honest with you Nick.
15:15 --> 15:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I needed some time off from that after a while.
15:17 --> 15:18 [SPEAKER_01]: He's just beating a dead horse.
15:19 --> 15:32 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, like I'm sure it's going to come up again in 26 and less he has some whirlwind change where he just becomes AJ Hinch managing a bullpen, but like I think we needed a break from it.
15:32 --> 15:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I think everybody has to be honest 2.8 F4 for JP.
15:36 --> 15:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
15:37 --> 15:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so he's a good player.
15:38 --> 15:48 [SPEAKER_01]: The thing I've suggested is could JP go play third base and Colt-Amerson play short, just because Colt-Amerson's really supposed to be a good defender, doesn't seem like they're gonna do that.
15:48 --> 15:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Even if our vote would be to have Colt play short stop and I think mine would be if he was gonna come up.
15:54 --> 15:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't seem like the Mariners themselves are gonna do that.
15:57 --> 16:01 [SPEAKER_01]: So to answer your question, I think Colt-Amerson will play third base in his first year.
16:01 --> 16:05 [SPEAKER_01]: and then assuming JP isn't back in 27, yeah, then it's gonna be called to job.
16:05 --> 16:06 [SPEAKER_01]: That'll be the short stop.
16:06 --> 16:08 [SPEAKER_01]: And the royals did a similar thing.
16:08 --> 16:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Bobby Witton's first year was a third baseman, but then he took over as the short stop after that, and look how great he's been.
16:16 --> 16:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Dan Wilson has a soft spot for JP.
16:19 --> 16:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, JP's defense is not really good.
16:22 --> 16:24 [SPEAKER_00]: The metrics hate JP's defense.
16:24 --> 16:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'd say my IDEST and Lyle's IDEST also backed up that JP's just not the defender he was.
16:30 --> 16:33 [SPEAKER_00]: And he sometimes costs the Mariners runs out there at shortstop.
16:33 --> 16:37 [SPEAKER_00]: But when you hit like he hits, there is no soft spot for JP.
16:37 --> 16:46 [SPEAKER_00]: So even if like logistically on defense, you would say, okay, we are better if we put
16:47 --> 16:48 [SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't happen very much.
16:49 --> 16:56 [SPEAKER_00]: We're like, that a prospect will come up and unseat a three-wind player at a position.
16:56 --> 17:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you like there would really need to be something wrong.
17:01 --> 17:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
17:02 --> 17:10 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when Kevin McGonagall gets up for the tigers this year, the tigers don't have a shoe in every day shortstop.
17:10 --> 17:11 [SPEAKER_01]: So that would be his job.
17:11 --> 17:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the Mariners again, you have a two and a half to three when player, that is a valuable player.
17:16 --> 17:18 [SPEAKER_01]: He's not an MVP valuable.
17:18 --> 17:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
17:19 --> 17:34 [SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't make, I, I, to me, it doesn't make sense to like stir try and like stir things up or maybe rich JP getting pissed off and maybe it affects the clubhouse potentially all hypotheticals of course over.
17:34 --> 17:42 [SPEAKER_00]: something you can deal with for a year and you'll be fine and then you can move on and not resign JP and then Colt Emerson is in your shortstop.
17:42 --> 17:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean look again, I think there's a chance the Mariners could add more value by just letting Colt play shortstop, but it doesn't seem like they're going to do that.
17:52 --> 17:57 [SPEAKER_01]: So that's my opinion, but if they're not going to do it, it almost feels like
17:57 --> 18:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Not beating a dead horse, but it almost feels like a moot point because how much can we talk about it if they're not going to do it feels like Colts going to play third in your one and then after that, he'll move over to shortstop I don't know if it'll be a Well, I don't know if I was just I don't know if it'll be a significant change in wins although if Colts that good defensively Maybe But defense can only impact the game so much because you only get
18:24 --> 18:26 [SPEAKER_00]: however many opportunities a game.
18:26 --> 18:35 [SPEAKER_00]: That's why people struggle to grade defense because during a year you will get eight, like 750 at bats, max.
18:35 --> 18:37 [SPEAKER_00]: But on defense, you don't always get that much.
18:37 --> 18:42 [SPEAKER_00]: You get a lot of innings out there, but your opportunities are fewer and far between than everyone else.
18:42 --> 18:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Like the pitcher throws 115 pitches that you field five of his outs.
18:48 --> 18:50 [SPEAKER_00]: It's so much smaller.
18:51 --> 18:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, we'll see.
18:54 --> 18:57 [SPEAKER_01]: If you're talking about soft spots for Dan Wilson, I don't think it's JP Crawford.
18:58 --> 19:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I think there's two very, very big soft spots he had in his first year and I'll let you guess them.
19:06 --> 19:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Trent Orton?
19:07 --> 19:08 [SPEAKER_00]: That's one.
19:12 --> 19:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't more.
19:14 --> 19:14 [SPEAKER_00]: No.
19:14 --> 19:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Not even someone else.
19:15 --> 19:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Carlos Vargas.
19:16 --> 19:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Carlos Vargas, there we go.
19:18 --> 19:19 [SPEAKER_01]: I'd say those two check out.
19:20 --> 19:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
19:23 --> 19:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
19:24 --> 19:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, this is what Trent was still healthy this year.
19:28 --> 19:32 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there were, there were games where it's like, it's almost like he's force feeding him into appearances.
19:34 --> 19:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Without, again, Trent Thornton ended his season.
19:37 --> 19:42 [SPEAKER_00]: At the end, when he got hurt, he was the worst, he was like the second worst reliever in base, probably more.
19:44 --> 19:46 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, maybe just not the eighth inning anymore.
19:48 --> 19:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, maybe lower leverage when the score is not within two runs.
19:53 --> 19:54 [SPEAKER_01]: I like that idea.
19:54 --> 19:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
19:54 --> 19:55 [SPEAKER_01]: I like that idea.
19:55 --> 19:56 [SPEAKER_00]: And they should probably do the same thing with Vargas.
19:57 --> 19:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
19:57 --> 20:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Before we get to our next question, Loud, we want to re-nad.
20:00 --> 20:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how about our friends over at Pagachus Pub 85?
20:02 --> 20:03 [SPEAKER_01]: It's this awesome spot.
20:03 --> 20:15 [SPEAKER_01]: You guys hear us talk about it and we'll continue to do so this awesome spot over in Kirkland, this great neighborhood bar where there's 20 TVs in there for all your sports watching, there's great food, there's games like pool and darts and drink specials.
20:15 --> 20:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're great all the time, but if you go during happy hour, you can get them for three and four bucks, two to six PM on Monday through Friday.
20:22 --> 20:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how about those deals?
20:23 --> 20:27 [SPEAKER_01]: You guys, two to six PM, Monday through Friday, great happy hour specials.
20:27 --> 20:29 [SPEAKER_01]: That's all at Pagachus Pub 85 in Kirkland.
20:30 --> 20:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Next question comes from Luke on YouTube, Luke's question is, do you think a player like Okamoto is still on the table for the Mariners given that Murakami, his countrymate, Japan, got a lot less money than expected at the beginning of the off season?
20:46 --> 20:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so, because after Rob Reff said her sign, there's really not a spot for him.
20:51 --> 20:57 [SPEAKER_01]: I would be a little bit more open-minded in general to Okamoto over Murakami, and I think we've talked about that.
20:57 --> 21:02 [SPEAKER_01]: But I just think after the after-wrecks that are signed, there's not space for them on the roster.
21:03 --> 21:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, come on, it could provide value, but then you have other questions you need to answer about your roster going forward.
21:08 --> 21:10 [SPEAKER_00]: And it would counter-dict some of the things you've already told us.
21:10 --> 21:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Like that, you really want to play Cole Young.
21:13 --> 21:15 [SPEAKER_00]: You really want to play Cole Temerson when he gets promoted.
21:16 --> 21:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you sign Ocomodo,
21:18 --> 21:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Not you both those things can't happen.
21:21 --> 21:32 [SPEAKER_00]: And then the Mariners would be forced into a situation where they're a little more uncomfortable where you have a third baseman slash dh Third baseman slash dh you have a top prospect to a play third base you have a second baseman.
21:33 --> 21:34 [SPEAKER_00]: You have an established shortstop.
21:34 --> 21:36 [SPEAKER_00]: You have an established first baseman.
21:36 --> 21:36 [SPEAKER_00]: There's just no room.
21:37 --> 21:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Someone's getting pushed out of the roster.
21:40 --> 21:43 [SPEAKER_00]: And for someone who's not proven in major league baseball.
21:43 --> 21:45 [SPEAKER_00]: That's not enough of a sure thing.
21:45 --> 21:47 [SPEAKER_00]: That's just not something you take the risk on.
21:48 --> 21:54 [SPEAKER_01]: And Mark hobby feels like a little bit of a safer bet than sorry, Okamoto feels like a little bit of a safer bet than Mark hobby.
21:54 --> 21:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Not as high of a floor, but a little bit of a safer bet.
21:57 --> 22:03 [SPEAKER_01]: That being said, there are still questions with him too about hitting good quality VLO in Major League Baseball.
22:03 --> 22:07 [SPEAKER_01]: We talked about him and that specifically at the start of the offseason.
22:08 --> 22:12 [SPEAKER_00]: The reason they signed Raph Snyder was to occupy the role that Okamoto would have.
22:12 --> 22:14 [SPEAKER_00]: What if Okamoto comes over?
22:14 --> 22:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Is he playing every day you think?
22:17 --> 22:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I guess it depends on the team he signs for.
22:19 --> 22:20 [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like, yeah.
22:21 --> 22:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Fuse on the Mariners, and they didn't have ref Snyder.
22:23 --> 22:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think he'd play every day?
22:25 --> 22:29 [SPEAKER_01]: He probably de-h a lot of days and then mixed in at the corners.
22:29 --> 22:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like close to every day because the money you're going to pay him is probably at every day player.
22:34 --> 22:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
22:35 --> 22:38 [SPEAKER_00]: But then again, you need D.H.J.
22:38 --> 22:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Sir Cal.
22:39 --> 22:41 [SPEAKER_00]: You room for Colt to play third with him.
22:42 --> 22:49 [SPEAKER_01]: You can zone to D.H. Like, it's, I mean, this is why it just doesn't really fit the roster at this point.
22:51 --> 22:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Next question comes from Mariners Mute Near on X.
22:55 --> 23:00 [SPEAKER_00]: The question is, the Mariners can't allow the Blue Jays to sign Kyle Tucker and Boba Shet.
23:01 --> 23:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Agreed?
23:03 --> 23:04 [SPEAKER_00]: What could they do to stop that?
23:06 --> 23:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Sign Kyle Tucker.
23:08 --> 23:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Woo!
23:09 --> 23:13 [SPEAKER_00]: There's a second part of this question, which I actually thinks a little bit more interesting.
23:14 --> 23:16 [SPEAKER_00]: The BlueJays have indicated they will sign Tucker first.
23:17 --> 23:24 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners need to put an offer down four beset at the very minimum prevents the BlueJays from getting a hometown discount.
23:27 --> 23:28 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm,
23:29 --> 23:37 [SPEAKER_01]: I'd be interested in the Mariners' signing boba shed, but we've talked about it with the defensive deficiencies and the money he's gonna ask for.
23:37 --> 23:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Do you feel great about that signing?
23:41 --> 23:43 [SPEAKER_00]: No.
23:44 --> 23:45 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna be honest, I don't.
23:47 --> 23:51 [SPEAKER_01]: just feels like one that could age poorly feels like a guy that could be a dh before he's 30 years old.
23:52 --> 23:58 [SPEAKER_00]: And again, this counterdics your statements about prospects on your roster, where it's like, oh, we love these guys who wanted to play a bunch.
23:59 --> 24:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Signing mobile show would make you a lot better for 2026, but with that comes.
24:06 --> 24:23 [SPEAKER_00]: less flexibility at the rest of the roster and a potential crunch later on when Bobushet his already poor defense goes down even further perhaps his style of hitting where he chases a ton doesn't take walks
24:23 --> 24:30 [SPEAKER_00]: ages them out a little bit and then the Mariners are left holding the bag for a potentially 25 to 30 million dollar player.
24:30 --> 24:31 [SPEAKER_00]: It's just not a sure thing.
24:31 --> 24:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Cal Tucker seems like more of a sure thing.
24:34 --> 24:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Alex Breggman seems like more of a sure thing than Boba Shet.
24:39 --> 24:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's right.
24:41 --> 24:43 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, side Cal Tucker, there's your easy solution.
24:43 --> 24:48 [SPEAKER_01]: And then if you have to train a couple of your right fielders, by all means, because you don't Kyle Tucker.
24:49 --> 24:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
24:51 --> 24:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Next question comes from MC Sloptown on Instagram.
24:56 --> 25:01 [SPEAKER_00]: This question is, if the MC don't sign anyone else, is this offseason a severe disappointment?
25:03 --> 25:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Severe disappointment?
25:04 --> 25:06 [SPEAKER_01]: No disappointing?
25:06 --> 25:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the roster's currently not good enough, off-entently.
25:11 --> 25:14 [SPEAKER_00]: You qualify this as disappointment even after ref-sider?
25:15 --> 25:17 [SPEAKER_00]: I would say incomplete, I wouldn't say disappointment.
25:20 --> 25:26 [SPEAKER_01]: If you line up that offense right now, there are a lot of question marks.
25:28 --> 25:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I think it doesn't alleviate all the question marks.
25:31 --> 25:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Why does all of a sudden go to because you wouldn't have that length in line up with the one extra bat keep in mind where the mariners were last year for the playoffs.
25:41 --> 25:44 [SPEAKER_01]: They were essentially six deep with hitters you could really rely on.
25:44 --> 25:54 [SPEAKER_01]: I know Gino was a great in the postseason, but his presence in the lineup with the year he had last year in the 49 homers did provide a threat and impose opposing pitchers.
25:54 --> 26:12 [SPEAKER_01]: So right now, the Mariners have four of those guys, because you lost Polaco, you lost Geno, you have four of them, Donovan would be five, but if you don't get Donovan or one other bat, it feels more like you're four deep, and you are hoping everybody else is just good enough.
26:12 --> 26:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, what happens with there's a righty on the mound.
26:14 --> 26:16 [SPEAKER_01]: You're talking about ref Snyder, then ref Snyder is probably not in the lineup.
26:17 --> 26:20 [SPEAKER_01]: And for his goodest cold Emerson could be, for his goodest cold young Kenbee,
26:21 --> 26:24 [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of question marks for a team that's coming off at ALCS.
26:26 --> 26:27 [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't go to disappointment.
26:27 --> 26:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I just say incomplete, and I classed by those two things differently, because I call if I disappointment as failure.
26:33 --> 26:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think the Mariners, if they didn't make another move failed the off-season?
26:36 --> 26:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think there's a difference between disappointment and failure.
26:38 --> 26:44 [SPEAKER_01]: I think failure is about the lowest you can go, then there's disappointing, and then there's incomplete, and then there's complete.
26:45 --> 26:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Disappointing is, look.
26:47 --> 26:48 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like you did nothing.
26:48 --> 26:50 [SPEAKER_01]: You got Josh Nailer back, and that's a big deal.
26:50 --> 26:53 [SPEAKER_01]: But aside from that, you're selling your fans on.
26:53 --> 26:57 [SPEAKER_01]: You got a unproven bullpen arm and a platoon bat.
27:00 --> 27:01 [SPEAKER_01]: That feels pretty disappointing to me.
27:02 --> 27:04 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm more in the incomplete train.
27:04 --> 27:06 [SPEAKER_00]: It would not be, it would not be an A off season.
27:06 --> 27:10 [SPEAKER_00]: It would be a B minus to C plus off season.
27:11 --> 27:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Don't see, we still see this differently.
27:12 --> 27:14 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm probably giving it more like a C grade.
27:15 --> 27:16 [SPEAKER_01]: If they,
27:16 --> 27:19 [SPEAKER_01]: if they go out and don't get another that.
27:19 --> 27:21 [SPEAKER_00]: And again, see, can I say this?
27:22 --> 27:26 [SPEAKER_00]: We said we were at sea, like a sea off season great after they saw a nailer.
27:27 --> 27:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Is that what we said?
27:28 --> 27:29 [SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
27:30 --> 27:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, okay, then sea plus at that.
27:33 --> 27:35 [SPEAKER_00]: That's at least how I felt about it.
27:37 --> 27:40 [SPEAKER_01]: It is not gonna be a great grade if they do not get one more proven that.
27:40 --> 27:42 [SPEAKER_01]: If they get Donovan, like we said on Wednesday's episode,
27:43 --> 27:47 [SPEAKER_01]: then their off seasons more like a B plus or A minus if they do not get this last proven bat.
27:48 --> 27:50 [SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a lot of holes on this offense.
27:50 --> 28:00 [SPEAKER_01]: I do because they're four deep and by the way, you still have to bank on Randy to do what he did again next year after I know it's a small sample, but he had a brutal postseason too.
28:01 --> 28:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to do them stay right now because we both think the Mariners are going to get that bat, but it is something to think about if the worst case scenario happens and they don't get another bat.
28:11 --> 28:12 [SPEAKER_00]: How are we going to think about that?
28:12 --> 28:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
28:12 --> 28:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for that question.
28:13 --> 28:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, I would just end it with this.
28:15 --> 28:20 [SPEAKER_01]: They were 60 with that playoff roster last year with six truly imposing bats, right?
28:20 --> 28:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Now they have four, I don't know if, I don't even know how imposing dot of it is, but he is good.
28:25 --> 28:27 [SPEAKER_01]: So you've got to lengthen it by at least one more spot.
28:28 --> 28:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Final question of this mailbag comes from coal on Instagram.
28:31 --> 28:39 [SPEAKER_00]: The question is, how does this off-season compare to the 2022 or I'd say post 2022 off-season in terms of importance?
28:41 --> 28:44 [SPEAKER_01]: very very important because you've got to keep momentum going.
28:44 --> 28:47 [SPEAKER_01]: You don't what how would I compare it to 22?
28:47 --> 28:52 [SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'd say in some ways it's similar because you've got a build on this momentum.
28:52 --> 29:07 [SPEAKER_01]: What the Mariners didn't do three years ago is build on momentum because they were a bat short and 23, Mr. playoffs, bat short and 24, Mr. playoffs, definitely a bat short last year, but because of a 60 home run season from their catcher in a good deadline, they finally propelled it.
29:07 --> 29:09 [SPEAKER_01]: They have got to keep the foot on the pedal.
29:10 --> 29:16 [SPEAKER_01]: And so far, they're building up the pieces to do that this off season, but they have got to go get that last bat to do so.
29:16 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: So I would say it's similar in the sense of needing to build momentum.
29:20 --> 29:25 [SPEAKER_00]: It's the same level of importance, because both the teams had the same goals to go in the world series.
29:25 --> 29:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Now you could say they were chasing a world series every off season.
29:29 --> 29:32 [SPEAKER_00]: If the Mariners told us that last off season has said no, you're not.
29:32 --> 29:37 [SPEAKER_00]: But this off season with signing Josh Nailer making the moves they did, I would say so.
29:37 --> 29:40 [SPEAKER_00]: And I think they approached the post 2022 off season the same way.
29:40 --> 29:54 [SPEAKER_00]: So it kind of feels the same now the results of the 2023 season weren't what you wanted and certainly some of those players they got like Towsker and Colton Wong and AJ Pollock did not work out at all, but they did go try.
29:54 --> 29:59 [SPEAKER_00]: They certainly did try that seems like they're trying again this off scene.
29:59 --> 30:00 [SPEAKER_00]: I think they have the right idea.
30:00 --> 30:03 [SPEAKER_00]: It's now they just have to go finish that idea.
30:03 --> 30:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
30:04 --> 30:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Now I will say, in spite of everything we just talked about in the last mail bag question, about the Mariners still needing to lengthen that line up, there are less question marks.
30:12 --> 30:32 [SPEAKER_01]: They have to fill with this current roster than they did in 22, because even in 22 when they made the playoffs, you had Mitch Hanager who was struggling and about to enter free agency anyway, you had Adam Frazier at second base, so I think you knew you weren't going to bring back after the year he had.
30:33 --> 30:36 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, there was there was still quite a lot of incomplete starting rotation.
30:38 --> 30:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you did because yeah, Miller and Woo-Worn on the team back that in 22.
30:41 --> 30:48 [SPEAKER_00]: It was what I mean, it was Robbie, you had Robbie, Castillo and Logan Gilbert and Kirby came the net.
30:48 --> 30:55 [SPEAKER_00]: No, Kirby came that year still, but you still had, you know, one spot in your rotation open.
30:56 --> 30:59 [SPEAKER_00]: And then you'd have to open as soon as Robbie threw us first start.
30:59 --> 31:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So.
31:01 --> 31:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Why am I blanking on who the fifth guy in the rotation 22 was it was it was flexing wasn't it oh maybe that two was for some of it for some of it yeah flexing was more 2021
31:15 --> 31:16 [SPEAKER_00]: is better year 21.
31:16 --> 31:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't Marco, no, and yeah, it was Marco.
31:20 --> 31:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Remember that was, it was Marco and Flexon.
31:22 --> 31:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so Flexon made 22 starts that year.
31:25 --> 31:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Marco made 32, but remember the whole story was, Marco got left off the playoff roster for that series.
31:32 --> 31:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Because he wasn't very good.
31:33 --> 31:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
31:34 --> 31:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
31:35 --> 31:37 [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, that's who it was, you're right.
31:39 --> 31:41 [SPEAKER_00]: And, but they still had.
31:41 --> 31:42 [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of holes to fill.
31:42 --> 31:44 [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't fill all of them, but they, you know, they tried.
31:44 --> 31:46 [SPEAKER_00]: The offense was a big problem with that team.
31:47 --> 31:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Try to go fix it and they instead made it the most volatile offense.
31:49 --> 31:50 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we've ever seen.
31:51 --> 31:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
31:52 --> 31:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Now pitching wise, I think they knew Bryce Miller was coming that year.
31:54 --> 31:57 [SPEAKER_01]: I think Brian Wu got thrown into the fire a little bit that year.
31:57 --> 31:59 [SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of ways, he obviously held his own.
32:00 --> 32:01 [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think they expected Wu to be up that early.
32:02 --> 32:03 [SPEAKER_01]: They have to do it with injuries.
32:03 --> 32:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Bye.
32:04 --> 32:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it wasn't so much the pitching.
32:06 --> 32:10 [SPEAKER_01]: I think they knew they had guys coming, but yeah, there were questions on that offense.
32:10 --> 32:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Which is what we're talking about right now.
32:11 --> 32:13 [SPEAKER_01]: It's the offense I've got to still fix.
32:14 --> 32:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's a good batch of mailbag questions, uh, I'm waiting for the Mariners to make their last move here.
32:21 --> 32:22 [SPEAKER_00]: So allow an I can talk about it.
32:22 --> 32:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully as this new year turns, we will start getting into previewing the upcoming season because tell you what spring training is coming up.
32:31 --> 32:37 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners will report in like a month and a half and get on us quicker than we know.
32:37 --> 32:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was going to say, I
32:40 --> 32:53 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking forward to doing some of these previews and I hope it includes this last move for an impact back because it feels like the storylines just keep circulating for the Mariners in this just endless roundabout and it's all the same names.
32:53 --> 32:56 [SPEAKER_01]: It's just Donovan, Kattel, it's those two.
32:56 --> 33:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Nico Horner can be thrown in there a little bit but it's always about them these days and otherwise it doesn't feel like they have that much left in their offseason to do.
33:05 --> 33:09 [SPEAKER_00]: We've never talked about a player not on the the old to sorry.
33:10 --> 33:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Let me retract that statement The only player we've talked about not on the Meredith roster more than Brendan Donovan is Kyle Tucker Yeah, correct Correct and could tell it's not that far behind.
33:21 --> 33:28 [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, he's not so let's hope they wrap this up here soon though Not on the 25th you wait one more day.
33:28 --> 33:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
33:29 --> 33:30 [SPEAKER_01]: It's five with me
33:31 --> 33:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I do hope they wrap it up.
33:33 --> 33:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, if it was up to me, they'd go get another big ball pen arm too, but they might just save that for the deadline.
33:37 --> 33:39 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll say, we'll have to say.
33:40 --> 33:41 [SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, good stuff.
