01:38 --> 01:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Lyle Miles Masterbone is going to be hitting clean up for the entire season.
01:43 --> 01:44 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll do you one better.
01:45 --> 01:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Michael O'Royos, go to the Hall of Fame.
01:48 --> 01:48 [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
01:49 --> 01:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Let us know which one of those is more likely down in the comments section below.
01:53 --> 01:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Which one do you think is more likely?
01:54 --> 01:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Whoo!
01:55 --> 01:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's a way you could spin your take to say it's gonna be right.
01:59 --> 02:09 [SPEAKER_00]: There could be a game this year where there's so many injuries that somehow some way miles master-bony ends up in the cleanup spot for a day.
02:10 --> 02:23 [SPEAKER_01]: That's a fair point, and I think you could also spin zone your way to say, there's no way the Mariners would ever have miles MasterBony hitting cleanup, like considering the amount of injuries it would take for him to get to the cleanup spot.
02:23 --> 02:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, let's start rattling off guys, though it hit cleanup in front of miles MasterBony and see how far down the list we're gonna get.
02:29 --> 02:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, first one is Josh Nailer.
02:32 --> 02:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Randy Rosarena, Cal, Julio, Dom Canzone, Luke Rayleigh, so that's seven.
02:40 --> 02:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Raph Snyder, Raph Snyder's eight.
02:43 --> 02:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, honestly, JP's nine, I put Victor Robless at 10.
02:49 --> 02:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Eleven would be, I feel like we're forgetting one regular.
02:52 --> 02:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Brendan Donovan, Brendan Donovan.
02:55 --> 02:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Put Garver ahead of him.
02:56 --> 02:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Garver's 12.
02:58 --> 03:00 [SPEAKER_01]: You can put almost out of position players.
03:00 --> 03:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you could put Leo Reeva to head of them.
03:03 --> 03:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Leo Reeva, especially because you can hit right-handed 13.
03:06 --> 03:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it might be tough.
03:08 --> 03:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
03:09 --> 03:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Final thing before we move on.
03:12 --> 03:13 [SPEAKER_00]: As we're finishing up this list.
03:13 --> 03:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Who hits cleanup?
03:14 --> 03:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Miles Masks for Boney or Andrew Kisner.
03:17 --> 03:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Well there we go, I just think on a slightly more serious note, it is going to be a little tougher for Master to get onto the roster this year, given how it's constructed.
03:29 --> 03:30 [SPEAKER_01]: It really is going to hurt him that he hits left-handed.
03:31 --> 03:47 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners have so many lefties, and this is why you would probably hear an argument from an objective perspective from just an Hollander or Jerry DePoto that it wouldn't make as much sense to have a master on the roster over Leo Rivas who can hit right-handed.
03:47 --> 03:51 [SPEAKER_00]: And Leo was given the job at the end of the year where he was playing in September.
03:51 --> 03:53 [SPEAKER_00]: He hit the walkoff, Homer in September.
03:54 --> 03:56 [SPEAKER_00]: He obviously had the huge hit and game five during the playoffs.
03:57 --> 04:00 [SPEAKER_00]: He's a little more versatile than Mastro.
04:00 --> 04:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, actually, that's a master place in the outfield.
04:03 --> 04:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's true.
04:04 --> 04:06 [SPEAKER_00]: I think Leo mixed in in the outfield a little bit toward the end, right?
04:06 --> 04:07 [SPEAKER_00]: He got like anything I do and left me.
04:07 --> 04:09 [SPEAKER_01]: He's a really an outfielder.
04:09 --> 04:11 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so defensively, never mind.
04:11 --> 04:16 [SPEAKER_00]: The master, yes, is more versatile, but the lack of switch hitting does hurt him.
04:17 --> 04:20 [SPEAKER_00]: It does feel like unless something happens to Rivas, that's probably his job.
04:21 --> 04:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm 100% totally agree.
04:23 --> 04:25 [SPEAKER_01]: So those are our sarcastic early season takeaways.
04:25 --> 04:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Michael Royal, in the first game, dealt by the way, oh my God, he looked really good.
04:30 --> 04:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he looked awesome.
04:32 --> 04:38 [SPEAKER_00]: And man, I mean, not only was that home run hit hard and the double hit hard, opo.
04:38 --> 04:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he hit it up, though.
04:40 --> 04:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Both hits, that was pretty good.
04:42 --> 04:43 [SPEAKER_01]: That was pretty good.
04:43 --> 04:49 [SPEAKER_01]: In the home run, it was impressive because there was on a no-to-count and he still think the exit VLO was 102 miles an hour.
04:49 --> 04:50 [SPEAKER_01]: He hit it over 400 feet.
04:50 --> 04:51 [SPEAKER_01]: That was great.
04:51 --> 04:58 [SPEAKER_01]: And then on next, I think it was either his next step out of the iPad after false behind again.
04:58 --> 04:59 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure and goes the other way.
04:59 --> 05:01 [SPEAKER_01]: And this is like what Michael Aroyo does.
05:01 --> 05:04 [SPEAKER_01]: If you'll look at his minor league numbers, I mean, he does spray the ball all over the place.
05:05 --> 05:07 [SPEAKER_01]: He does have some pretty solid power.
05:07 --> 05:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I want to circle back to a story line that you and I discussed over the weekend about like sort of the thoughts going through our mind for 2027, but I guess that's not quite as pressing given that the 2026 season is about to start.
05:22 --> 05:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I'll just say you looked pretty good.
05:23 --> 05:24 [SPEAKER_01]: He was catching ice.
05:25 --> 05:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this could be a topic for another day, but I would just put it in the minds of everybody to think about in the sense of the Mariners, well, if there's a season in 2027,
05:35 --> 05:37 [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to have a lot of decisions to make.
05:38 --> 05:44 [SPEAKER_00]: I understand that not every prospect works out, and there's no way that every single one of these guys is going to be stars in the farm system.
05:44 --> 05:47 [SPEAKER_00]: It just never goes that way, unfortunately.
05:47 --> 05:51 [SPEAKER_00]: but they are likely gonna warn a chance to play at some point.
05:51 --> 06:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're the Mariners, you've gotta figure out either if you're gonna swing a couple big trades involving some of these guys before then, or if you're gonna find a way to get a bunch of them time because in 2027, the guys that are gonna need playing time if everything goes right are Kate Anderson, Ryan Sloan,
06:07 --> 06:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Cold timers will be up this year, but again in 27, Michael O'Rio will likely be up at some point this year, but again in 27, Johnny Farmello could very well get up in 27, last montage could get up in 2027, that's a lot of guys that you've got to find spots for or trade.
06:23 --> 06:29 [SPEAKER_01]: And Cole Young, by the way, who's not a prospect anymore, but is part of that group, I might say, right.
06:29 --> 06:31 [SPEAKER_01]: He was just the first one of that group.
06:31 --> 06:31 [SPEAKER_00]: So yes.
06:32 --> 06:55 [SPEAKER_01]: And even if you're if you're gonna lay this out on a piece of paper, so like so think about this this way before allow and I will again probably touch back on this in a different episode Like we had a great patreon call Bryson or one of our great patreon subscribers and followers he's followed us forever was sort of you know bringing up the ideas of these prospects playing in 2027 Or I think the question he asked us is Michael O'Royo gonna gonna be the starting left field or in 2027
06:55 --> 07:23 [SPEAKER_01]: very much a possibility but if you consider that by let's say August of 2027 the guys that might be ready for the Mariners in the outfield would be you would have a royal if things go well you'd have Johnny Farmello if things go well and Lazaro Montes if things go well you also needed the age so theoretically there would be room for all of those guys where you could let's hypothetically say this you would put a royal and left you put Johnny Farmello and right
07:23 --> 07:23 [SPEAKER_01]: That could work.
07:24 --> 07:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
07:24 --> 07:30 [SPEAKER_01]: But it's like then would you want to run out all of these prospects all at the same time and would you be good enough right in that case?
07:31 --> 07:39 [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be very, very interesting and a royal can obviously move around because I think what we saw on Friday is just a microcosm of
07:39 --> 07:48 [SPEAKER_00]: why his potential ability to learn different defensive positions is going to be really important because Michael Royale's value is pretty much all going to come from his back.
07:48 --> 07:58 [SPEAKER_00]: He is not the world's greatest defender really at any spot, but if the Mariners can find some way to just have him be passable in a couple different spots, doesn't have to be a star defensively, but just passable.
07:58 --> 08:04 [SPEAKER_00]: then you have the ability to move him around a lot and play him in some different spots, but find ways to get his bat in the lineup.
08:04 --> 08:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Because in a perfect world, you could have Michael and Roya play some second base, if Cole Young ever needed an off day or was facing a lefty, etc.
08:14 --> 08:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Just in general.
08:16 --> 08:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Michael Royale, his natural position, is second base.
08:19 --> 08:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Ideally, you'd like to see him move to third as well.
08:22 --> 08:28 [SPEAKER_00]: They want to play him in left, and he's taken some reps of both left field, now this winner, and third base over the years.
08:29 --> 08:32 [SPEAKER_00]: And then you'd also like to in a pinch, I would assume, have him play first.
08:32 --> 08:37 [SPEAKER_00]: That's not an ideal situation long term because he's a little small to play first base.
08:37 --> 08:54 [SPEAKER_00]: but if you were to have the ability to do it, that's four different positions plus the H. So if you're a royal, you don't have to be a star, but if you can be passable at those positions, we are seeing why that is important for him because he has got to find a way to get into the line up with his bat and he give himself options to do so.
08:54 --> 09:02 [SPEAKER_01]: And what he's going to have to do this year is essentially just show what he's shown each of the last three full seasons and the Mariners minor leaks that this guy rakes.
09:02 --> 09:14 [SPEAKER_01]: He has raked every single level he's played at and it has been this nice balanced approach of walks, strikeouts, contact, power, despite him being a little undersized.
09:14 --> 09:15 [SPEAKER_01]: It has worked for him.
09:15 --> 09:20 [SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see as the competition ramps up as he gets into the higher level.
09:20 --> 09:22 [SPEAKER_01]: The miners, how is that going to work out?
09:22 --> 09:25 [SPEAKER_01]: I do think his WBC opportunity is going to be amazing.
09:25 --> 09:33 [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be great because he's playing on a team in Columbia where he's going to be in the starting lineup facing big ligars on other teams the entire time.
09:34 --> 09:37 [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be like spring training, except there's going to be actual.
09:37 --> 09:40 [SPEAKER_01]: things at stake and lucky for him dog.
09:40 --> 09:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's got a chance to play a ton of games in this WPC.
09:43 --> 09:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you've checked in where Colombia is situated among all the teams, but they're in a pretty good spot right now.
09:52 --> 09:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Like can I read this out to you?
09:53 --> 10:00 [SPEAKER_01]: So Colombia is in the same pool as Panama, Canada, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.
10:01 --> 10:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Now Puerto Rico usually, absolute powerhouse.
10:06 --> 10:07 [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think it's going to be this year.
10:07 --> 10:10 [SPEAKER_01]: So they've had trouble with insurance for a lot of their guys.
10:10 --> 10:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's Korea and Al-2 they aren't going to play.
10:13 --> 10:14 [SPEAKER_00]: And is Islam door playing?
10:15 --> 10:16 [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't think so.
10:16 --> 10:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's not.
10:17 --> 10:24 [SPEAKER_01]: OK, I know how it is for their pitchers, but they're definitely not as not as loaded as they usually are.
10:25 --> 10:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Right, right.
10:26 --> 10:26 [SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
10:26 --> 10:31 [SPEAKER_00]: So a royal is definitely going to get some of that and get some really good opportunities against good arms during this tournament, which good for him.
10:32 --> 10:35 [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, you know what's pretty exciting about him as well.
10:36 --> 10:37 [SPEAKER_00]: He's barely 21 years old.
10:38 --> 10:38 [SPEAKER_01]: I know.
10:39 --> 10:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know.
10:40 --> 10:41 [SPEAKER_01]: He's still learning.
10:41 --> 10:46 [SPEAKER_01]: He's still got a long way to go in terms of what he's building on.
10:46 --> 10:53 [SPEAKER_01]: On top of that, I wanted to mention, the other pool on that side of the bracket is the pool with the United States in it.
10:53 --> 11:00 [SPEAKER_01]: So the way it essentially goes is you will essentially get the winner and runner up of each pool.
11:00 --> 11:02 [SPEAKER_01]: face a mixed into the quarter final.
11:02 --> 11:14 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like the winner of one pool and the runner up on the other pool face off in one quarter final and the winner of the other pool and the runner up with the other pool face off in the second quarter final on that side of the bracket.
11:15 --> 11:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Michael O'Royo could make it to the semi finals with Columbia of the world baseball classic without having to face a powerhouse that will knock Columbia out of the tournament
11:31 --> 11:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Let me read these teams again.
11:32 --> 11:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Panama, Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico, like a weakened Puerto Rico.
11:36 --> 11:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Ah, feels kind of close to Colombia now.
11:41 --> 11:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I have a hard time believing Columbia gets out of that bracket.
11:46 --> 11:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we saw a team like Mexico last year get all the way to the semifinals and nearly beat Japan.
11:51 --> 11:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Like it can't happen.
11:53 --> 11:54 [SPEAKER_01]: It is your singular baseball games.
11:55 --> 11:58 [SPEAKER_01]: They aren't that that can be a little random sometimes.
11:58 --> 12:00 [SPEAKER_00]: There's not a ton of baseball players from Columbia.
12:01 --> 12:02 [SPEAKER_00]: That's where the struggle is.
12:02 --> 12:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Like major leaders from Columbia.
12:03 --> 12:04 [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I mean.
12:04 --> 12:10 [SPEAKER_01]: But the only team you can I think definitively say is better than Colombia.
12:10 --> 12:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm just not educated enough from the WBC, but from my knowledge, the only two teams you would confidently say that Colombia is worse than among all these countries is Puerto Rico in the United States and Puerto Rico is playing with one arm time behind its back.
12:25 --> 12:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I think Canada is going to be better.
12:34 --> 12:46 [SPEAKER_01]: I guess we'll find it as best players are like a Freddy's now playing as he I mean Josh Nailer Bone player what Freddy's not playing I don't think so Okay, then that doesn't we don't check that.
12:46 --> 13:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I don't think he's playing yet and Matt Brash is in playing So that's awesome yet know he's not yet and Freddy Freemann's not gonna be in the WBC Matt Brash not gonna be in the WBC Again has got some players Do they have enough players sure?
13:02 --> 13:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Alright, so Michael Royale, that's a story to watch in the WVC, there's no doubt about it.
13:06 --> 13:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Good start in the first game in the spring and it's gonna get a lot of opportunities.
13:09 --> 13:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Will he make the team out of camp unlikely?
13:12 --> 13:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Do we see him in 26?
13:13 --> 13:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Probably.
13:14 --> 13:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't see any world in what she makes the team out of camp.
13:18 --> 13:19 [SPEAKER_00]: No, I just don't know where he plays.
13:20 --> 13:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I don't think so, but I think we'll see him at some point this year.
13:24 --> 13:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Unless people are just comfortable booting Randy off the team, I'm not.
13:29 --> 13:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but if that's that's your guy's decision then more power to you.
13:34 --> 13:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what else jumped out to you?
13:36 --> 13:37 [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm
13:38 --> 13:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I set it the other day on social media.
13:41 --> 13:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I feel a little bad for Johnny Farmello and Las Montez, who, as every not just player would, but prospect would, want to get yourself ramped up as live a bat's go on in the spring and you start to see a more often and you start to get into your groove more, right?
13:56 --> 13:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Those are the first true in-game of bats that are getting in the whole spring.
14:00 --> 14:05 [SPEAKER_00]: It's the fifth inning, it's game one, it's the lid lifter or the cactus league, you're probably thinking to yourself, all right?
14:05 --> 14:08 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll see somebody that's probably around the double A level like us.
14:09 --> 14:14 [SPEAKER_00]: It'll be an easy way to, or shouldn't say easy, but a nice way to start to get myself acclimated into action.
14:15 --> 14:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Who swings out of that bullpen door running through in the fifth inning to face Johnny and Lazz, Mason Miller?
14:22 --> 14:30 [SPEAKER_01]: At least he throws strikes because the difference is I would say is that they will face guys in double I who throw over a hundred miles an hour.
14:31 --> 14:34 [SPEAKER_01]: The difference is Mason Miller controls as a hundred miles an hour and throws strikes.
14:35 --> 14:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Those guys at double I you never know.
14:37 --> 14:46 [SPEAKER_01]: For example, like you know the name Harley and Susanna do throws probably about as hard as Mason Miller does, but his big thing in the minors I'm guessing he's cleaned it up now.
14:46 --> 14:52 [SPEAKER_01]: But at least when he was traded as part of that Juan Soto package is that he's really
14:52 --> 14:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh no, he is not cleaned it up.
14:54 --> 14:55 [SPEAKER_00]: His walks are still out of control.
14:56 --> 14:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
14:57 --> 15:05 [SPEAKER_01]: So those are the guys that Johnny and Laz usually get the face in the minor leagues, or it could be one pitch, it could be 102 down the middle.
15:05 --> 15:07 [SPEAKER_01]: The next pitch, it could be 103 at your head.
15:08 --> 15:14 [SPEAKER_01]: So at least they know Mason Miller is gonna throw it in the strike zone, or at least it'll look like it's a strike.
15:14 --> 15:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
15:15 --> 15:20 [SPEAKER_00]: That's true, and again, if we talk to Johnny and Laz at some point this week, which I'm assuming we will,
15:21 --> 15:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure they're gonna say, yeah, we want those at bats.
15:24 --> 15:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I want to face Mason Miller.
15:25 --> 15:27 [SPEAKER_00]: That's an awesome challenge, which they should say that.
15:28 --> 15:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I just feel a little bad and had to happen in the first at bat of the spring, not five games into the spring or 10 games into the spring.
15:34 --> 15:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Especially because you haven't seen 102, maybe ever, if not, you haven't seen it since last season.
15:40 --> 15:40 [SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot.
15:40 --> 15:42 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's on you pretty quick.
15:42 --> 15:44 [SPEAKER_00]: That paired with Mason's disgusting off-speed.
15:44 --> 15:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he Mason Miller has really crafted himself into an unbelievable reliever and that that does, does feel little unfair for prospects to face.
15:54 --> 15:57 [SPEAKER_00]: And unbelievable might honestly even be selling it short.
15:57 --> 15:59 [SPEAKER_00]: He may be the best one in baseball at this point.
15:59 --> 16:01 [SPEAKER_01]: He's got a strike, a rate of like 50%, yeah.
16:01 --> 16:05 [SPEAKER_01]: The peak Edwin Diaz except he throws harder.
16:05 --> 16:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Right, and Mason Miller is kind of underratedly a big, big human being.
16:12 --> 16:14 [SPEAKER_01]: It makes sense because he throws as hard as he does.
16:15 --> 16:22 [SPEAKER_01]: We got him on our bullpen banner channel this year, and it kind of sneaks up on you how large of a human being he is.
16:22 --> 16:27 [SPEAKER_01]: So seeing that guy sort of standing on the mound and coming at you with all that velocity and all that size,
16:27 --> 16:35 [SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of intimidating, even for someone like glass who's a big human being himself and Johnny's no slouch, but Mason Miller is huge.
16:36 --> 16:41 [SPEAKER_00]: In a lot of ways, he's kind of like Mooney, where he's hard as nails when he's on the mound, but he's incredibly nice off the mound.
16:42 --> 16:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
16:42 --> 16:44 [SPEAKER_01]: The, yes, a hundred percent.
16:44 --> 16:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's say another one of my takeaways.
16:47 --> 16:57 [SPEAKER_01]: So we're recording here on Saturdays, we're flying down to Arizona tomorrow on Sunday, episode this episode will come out on Monday.
16:57 --> 16:59 [SPEAKER_01]: on Sunday we recorded on Saturday.
17:00 --> 17:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Kate Anderson through another live at bat session today on the Mariners backfields.
17:05 --> 17:07 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm guessing while you and I will get to see him in a game sometime next week.
17:08 --> 17:11 [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I would guess as they're sort of ramping him up.
17:11 --> 17:15 [SPEAKER_01]: This man got to face, he got to face.
17:16 --> 17:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Rob Raff Snyder, Mitch Garver, Cal, Julio, and... That's it.
17:22 --> 17:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and Brennan Donovan.
17:24 --> 17:34 [SPEAKER_01]: He got soft contact out from Brennan Donovan, and then he struck out Cal, he struck out Julio, he struck out Garver, and then he struck out Rob Raff Snyder.
17:34 --> 17:37 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's doing it different than Ryan Sloan.
17:37 --> 17:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Remember when we were talking about Ryan Sloan last week?
17:39 --> 17:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Ryan Sloan is up there pumping gas that Randy arose a rain that hasn't seen in an entire off season.
17:48 --> 17:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Kate Anderson was in this live at bat session sitting 93 94 miles an hour.
17:54 --> 17:58 [SPEAKER_01]: He's not overpowering guys with his fastball.
17:58 --> 18:00 [SPEAKER_01]: What he is doing is he's being a technician.
18:01 --> 18:26 [SPEAKER_01]: I that that was my takeaway from the observers of that live bullpen is be more like yeah the student is being very technical with his pitches and he's he's undressing people in a very almost crafty way it's incredible you got to see more than a couple bullpen sessions obviously right but when you're legitimately just punching out Julio on breaking balls
18:27 --> 18:28 [SPEAKER_00]: can't help but notice, right?
18:28 --> 18:29 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's gotten cow twice.
18:30 --> 18:31 [SPEAKER_00]: He's gotten Julio.
18:31 --> 18:34 [SPEAKER_00]: He, again, got Brendan Donovan to make soft contact.
18:34 --> 18:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Who is a very, very good hit, or you don't need us to tell you that?
18:38 --> 18:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and Rob Repsis, that is whole thing is he destroys lefties.
18:42 --> 18:44 [SPEAKER_00]: He's out here facing what's quote unquote a minor league lefty.
18:45 --> 18:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Punched out.
18:48 --> 18:50 [SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of make me believe more what Joe says.
18:50 --> 18:57 [SPEAKER_01]: I said, I wouldn't be surprised that Kate Anderson is in this rotation
18:57 --> 19:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I'm all the way there yet, but I love it live at back.
19:06 --> 19:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Part of me doesn't want him in the rotation because that means somebody's injured, but is it a possibility?
19:12 --> 19:15 [SPEAKER_01]: and off of Lyle's point.
19:16 --> 19:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I think Lyle and I would both rather have the original starting five than prospects while the prospects could be good.
19:22 --> 19:25 [SPEAKER_01]: There's always room for struggles when you have to face big league hitters.
19:25 --> 19:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Every single game instead of facing minor league or every single game.
19:29 --> 19:34 [SPEAKER_01]: And that just might not be something the Mariners want to deal with when they're trying to go win a world series.
19:36 --> 19:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
19:36 --> 19:38 [SPEAKER_00]: You'd rather have the five in there.
19:38 --> 19:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Not that Kade's not gonna have his opportunity in time because he obviously will.
19:42 --> 19:45 [SPEAKER_00]: But, yeah, we'll just see how it all plays out this year.
19:45 --> 19:48 [SPEAKER_00]: There's still a world of him and Sloan would just pitch out of the bullpen in the playoffs.
19:48 --> 19:55 [SPEAKER_00]: And then imagine that weapon with Kade Anderson, where if he's quote unquote pitching out of the bullpen but you could get two to three innings out of him in October.
19:56 --> 19:58 [SPEAKER_00]: That'd be pretty fascinating.
20:00 --> 20:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
20:00 --> 20:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Can I tell you this?
20:01 --> 20:01 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
20:01 --> 20:04 [SPEAKER_00]: My biggest takeaway continues to be from the whole Kade Anderson saga.
20:06 --> 20:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Stop me if you've heard this statement before, but the angels really have a shot to look like complete fucking morons with last year's draft.
20:14 --> 20:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Do we know how Tyler Bremner is looked?
20:17 --> 20:24 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's barely pit, it's like Kate, but if it's anything like this, I'd be surprised.
20:24 --> 20:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's something I would have guaranteed you.
20:27 --> 20:35 [SPEAKER_01]: If Kate Anderson was drafted by the angels last year, he'd be in their opening day rotation.
20:35 --> 20:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think so?
20:37 --> 20:37 [SPEAKER_00]: It's the angels.
20:37 --> 20:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
20:38 --> 20:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
20:40 --> 20:44 [SPEAKER_00]: He would have made about four starts in AA, and then they would have just thrown him in the big leaves.
20:44 --> 20:47 [SPEAKER_00]: They'll say, oh, we threw over a hundred innings in college this year.
20:48 --> 20:49 [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to pitch for us.
20:49 --> 20:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Arty Marano says we need our seats filled.
20:52 --> 20:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Did you see some of those quotes already had today?
20:59 --> 21:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh God, what did he do now?
21:00 --> 21:07 [SPEAKER_01]: He said winning is not within the top five of fans' priorities going to the ballpark.
21:07 --> 21:08 [SPEAKER_00]: That can't be real.
21:09 --> 21:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll find it.
21:10 --> 21:11 [SPEAKER_00]: He did say that.
21:12 --> 21:13 [SPEAKER_00]: There's no way.
21:14 --> 21:18 [SPEAKER_00]: He did say that.
21:18 --> 21:19 [SPEAKER_01]: I, he did say that.
21:19 --> 21:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I believe it was, uh, oh, here we go.
21:23 --> 21:25 [SPEAKER_01]: I, I know, I know it came out today.
21:26 --> 21:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
21:27 --> 21:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, here we go.
21:28 --> 21:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's the quote.
21:29 --> 21:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
21:29 --> 21:31 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's in the Orange County Register.
21:32 --> 21:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Number one thing fans want is affordability.
21:36 --> 21:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Morano said they want affordability.
21:38 --> 21:39 [SPEAKER_01]: They want safety.
21:39 --> 21:41 [SPEAKER_01]: And they want a good experience when they come down to the ballpark.
21:42 --> 21:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Believe it or not, winning is not in their top five.
21:49 --> 21:50 [SPEAKER_00]: worth a Stephen A.
21:50 --> 21:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Me when you need it.
21:52 --> 21:56 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think we're experiencing a mental illness.
21:56 --> 21:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the one I'm referring to.
21:58 --> 22:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Smile politely all, we're witnessing mental illness.
22:02 --> 22:16 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe how to like, it's hard to have a, it's hard to make a true comparison because we were too young to have our brains fully developed to fully understand just how bad the mariners were in our childhood.
22:16 --> 22:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Like we knew there were bad, but we couldn't understand his kids all the potential dysfunction that went on.
22:22 --> 22:26 [SPEAKER_00]: This has to be what it felt like to be a Mariners fan during those years, right?
22:26 --> 22:29 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what the angels are doing is a complete disaster.
22:29 --> 22:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Like no direction, no winning, no plan, owner who really, like one high paid star player that they market a ton, each row, Mike Trout, it's unbelievable.
22:41 --> 22:47 [SPEAKER_01]: With one unbelievable season with said player early on in their career, and then nothing else after.
22:47 --> 22:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Trat, I'm more than one unbelievable year.
22:49 --> 22:50 [SPEAKER_00]: He did.
22:50 --> 22:51 [SPEAKER_00]: The Angels didn't.
22:51 --> 22:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, yes, correct.
22:55 --> 22:55 [SPEAKER_01]: I got nothing.
22:55 --> 22:56 [SPEAKER_01]: What's funny?
22:57 --> 23:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I think people have real gripes with Mariners ownership in terms of like spending and communication and stuff like that.
23:03 --> 23:11 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's decided a little bit now that they made it to the ALCS, but I still do think there are legit questions to be had about some of the decisions Mariners ownership makes.
23:12 --> 23:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
23:13 --> 23:14 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not even comparable.
23:15 --> 23:20 [SPEAKER_01]: You have an owner of a Major League Baseball scene team telling you that his fans don't care about winning.
23:25 --> 23:29 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not even that he said, we don't care about winning in our top five.
23:29 --> 23:34 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not that he said, I don't care about that, which would look ridiculous, but hey, at least he's being transparent.
23:34 --> 23:38 [SPEAKER_00]: He actually believes his own fans don't want to see the team win.
23:41 --> 23:44 [SPEAKER_01]: So he's taking the responsibility off of himself.
23:45 --> 23:48 [SPEAKER_01]: to make, like, to say that he doesn't care as much about winning.
23:48 --> 23:51 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's saying, oh, since the fans don't care about winning, it's okay.
23:53 --> 23:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, we should run that by Mike Trout.
23:55 --> 23:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Mike, the fans don't really care about winning.
23:58 --> 23:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Are you motivated to win now, Mike?
23:59 --> 24:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, yeah.
24:00 --> 24:00 [SPEAKER_01]: I guess not.
24:03 --> 24:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
24:03 --> 24:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Tyler Bramner better go out and make the Hall of Fame.
24:07 --> 24:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Tyler Bramner should go to the press after seeing that quote and be like, yeah, I think I wanted to mandate trade.
24:13 --> 24:16 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how it all plays out with Kade, right?
24:16 --> 24:23 [SPEAKER_00]: When he actually starts throwing in minorly games and eventually gets to the big leagues, but we set it in July and I'll say it now.
24:23 --> 24:26 [SPEAKER_00]: The angels have a chance to look absolutely ridiculous with that pick.
24:27 --> 24:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, the nationals might too.
24:29 --> 24:35 [SPEAKER_00]: At least Eli Willitz was more talked about as a guy who could get drafted up in that range and somebody who has a chance to be a star at a high school.
24:36 --> 24:58 [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of people thought Kate was going one I mean we saw that first come that when we saw that first pick come in when we were in Atlanta and it was the I will it's we're like oh my god we said we are one angels complete buffoonery decision away from the steal of a lifetime in this draft after being awarded an absolute gift with a number three pick at a total luck in the in the lottery and then it happened.
24:58 --> 25:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you remember who else was on the board for the Mariners or not on the board at that moment, but before the draft happened, who they had a solid chance of picking, right?
25:10 --> 25:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we both wanted and believed leading into that draft.
25:14 --> 25:16 [SPEAKER_00]: The pick was going to be Saturnanas.
25:17 --> 25:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
25:17 --> 25:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm not even talking about that.
25:18 --> 25:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about who they were rumored to get.
25:20 --> 25:23 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners were pre-draft.
25:23 --> 25:24 [SPEAKER_01]: and it wasn't Seth Hernandez.
25:25 --> 25:28 [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't, I thought by the end, we had basically remember that it was going to be a man.
25:29 --> 25:35 [SPEAKER_01]: But remember, we had heard that they were interested in Tyler Bremner.
25:35 --> 25:40 [SPEAKER_00]: That's right, although I thought that the idea there was, there was going to be a pretty big underslot.
25:41 --> 25:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, yes.
25:41 --> 25:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Not saying it was going to be the same idea as Anderson, but if he was there, or would have been an option.
25:48 --> 25:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think by the end what we heard was it was an option.
25:51 --> 25:51 [SPEAKER_00]: You're right.
25:52 --> 25:58 [SPEAKER_00]: But I think what we heard was obviously people assumed Cade was going to go one and that wasn't going to be an option.
25:58 --> 26:06 [SPEAKER_00]: So we had kind of heard that with that assumption, it's probably going to be Seth Hernandez, who you and I sat there and said, man, this dude has a chance to be a stud.
26:06 --> 26:10 [SPEAKER_00]: And he looks good already with Pittsburgh, apparently early on.
26:10 --> 26:11 [SPEAKER_00]: But,
26:11 --> 26:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Once Kate fell, we're like, all right, everything just went out the board.
26:14 --> 26:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't imagine he's not at the top of the Mariners list, and he must have been.
26:19 --> 26:23 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not risk-free drafting Seth Hernandez as much as the upside is.
26:23 --> 26:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, go back to our last episode.
26:25 --> 26:30 [SPEAKER_01]: We recorded with Joe Doyle last week and listened to him talk about how unique it is for Ryan Sloan to be like where he is.
26:30 --> 26:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And why teams kind of stay away from high school writers.
26:33 --> 26:55 [SPEAKER_01]: right they get they got so long ago so much room to get injured the the volatility is incredibly high so when you could see like Kate Anderson's there instead you're like yeah yeah this works are great okay do we want to get to the last subject of this since you and I as people are listening to this are in Arizona where boots on the ground in Peoria
26:55 --> 26:58 [SPEAKER_01]: There are things we're looking for down at spring training.
26:59 --> 27:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I want to know, like, what are like three things on your mind that you're going to be looking out for when we're down there?
27:06 --> 27:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I would say a couple of things.
27:08 --> 27:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, even before that, is there that much to take away from the Saturday game other than, I mean, Emerson Hancock's stuff looked pretty good.
27:14 --> 27:16 [SPEAKER_00]: He gave up a couple of runs, but stuff looked good in the first game.
27:17 --> 27:17 [SPEAKER_01]: He's throwing hard.
27:18 --> 27:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, average over 95 miles an hour in his fastball.
27:20 --> 27:21 [SPEAKER_01]: We'd like to see that.
27:22 --> 27:25 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how his feet low looks after he's 20 starts in.
27:25 --> 27:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Right, because I think the durability with Emerson
27:30 --> 27:41 [SPEAKER_01]: kind of what we we've got to look at we pay attention to yeah we got to see like he this is a guy who touched ninety eight in a game loss chair as a starter right so we know he can do that it's like how much can he sustain that
27:41 --> 27:41 [SPEAKER_00]: We're rooting for it.
27:41 --> 27:42 [SPEAKER_00]: You know that.
27:42 --> 27:46 [SPEAKER_00]: You know this podcast that stamps there Emerson Hancock approval.
27:47 --> 27:51 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope he goes out and dominates this year when he gets his chance.
27:52 --> 27:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Anything else in this game?
27:53 --> 27:53 [SPEAKER_01]: No.
27:53 --> 27:54 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I saw the line.
27:54 --> 27:58 [SPEAKER_01]: I remember you floated to me yesterday after we were done doing our event with Lids and Nicki Minaj.
27:58 --> 27:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Which was great.
27:58 --> 28:02 [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, all of you that came and showed up to that event and heard it on this podcast.
28:02 --> 28:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
28:03 --> 28:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Helps us out a lot.
28:05 --> 28:05 [SPEAKER_01]: It was a ton of fun.
28:05 --> 28:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Nick was great.
28:06 --> 28:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Go check out some of our content that we've
28:11 --> 28:17 [SPEAKER_01]: But we were talking yesterday's like, you floated me to the idea of me yesterday's like, Oh, so we just like wait for the game to be over.
28:17 --> 28:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we see something happen.
28:18 --> 28:22 [SPEAKER_01]: And then I woke up this morning and I saw the lineup that the mayor was to put together for this game.
28:22 --> 28:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, like, yeah.
28:23 --> 28:24 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't really think we need to wait.
28:25 --> 28:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Connor Joe batting cleanup.
28:28 --> 28:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Monios threw it in and gave up a run first outing a spring gave through six pitches he had a clean and engaged fire, which great, but yeah, there wasn't a ton to take away the the biggest story honestly was ever some stuff look pretty good and is in his first outing a spring now our hope for him is just that
28:45 --> 28:50 [SPEAKER_00]: He can hold that, hold that below for the duration of a long season.
28:51 --> 28:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Because I'd be great.
28:52 --> 28:59 [SPEAKER_01]: I'd say the only other thing before we talk about the spring training stuff is, so Bill Maseroski passed away today, like, hearts out to his family.
29:00 --> 29:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I did not realize use Mariners Coach.
29:02 --> 29:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I saw the Mariners account tweet him when the Mariners had on.
29:05 --> 29:08 [SPEAKER_01]: I was, I really talk about learning something new.
29:08 --> 29:10 [SPEAKER_01]: I definitely learned something new at that.
29:10 --> 29:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Same.
29:11 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I obviously just remember for the walkoff
29:15 --> 29:20 [SPEAKER_01]: But I guess he coached a while ago because those are the old Mariners colors.
29:20 --> 29:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure Well Yeah, let's let's get to some of these things we're looking for in spring training.
29:26 --> 29:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously other than we're rooting for Emerson to have a huge here.
29:29 --> 29:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously I would say honestly
29:33 --> 29:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's cliche, but I am very curious to get to talk to Cal in some form or another while we're down there.
29:39 --> 29:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Because we usually get to talk to them, while we're down there, at some point in time, and we usually get to pick as brain a little bit, because obviously in spring training players have more time.
29:48 --> 29:50 [SPEAKER_00]: And each of the last couple of years, we've got to do it.
29:51 --> 29:52 [SPEAKER_00]: You and I learn a ton from it.
29:52 --> 29:56 [SPEAKER_00]: And there's things we pick up that we would have never picked up otherwise.
29:56 --> 29:57 [SPEAKER_00]: And it's just a fascinating dude to talk to.
29:59 --> 30:01 [SPEAKER_00]: But I would say I'd be curious to hear
30:02 --> 30:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to sound all big jade journalists here and say, like, oh, where has been tallities at after a 60 homer season?
30:07 --> 30:13 [SPEAKER_00]: But I am genuinely curious how we build off of last season, so to speak.
30:13 --> 30:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, are there areas you're looking at yourself and saying, man, I have to do better than that.
30:18 --> 30:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Or are you just, there's certain things I want to maintain?
30:20 --> 30:30 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's not going to tell us, I'd say, an exact number on this, but knowing that he hit 60 homer runs last season and fully understanding he's probably never doing that again.
30:31 --> 30:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Is he gonna look at like a 35 home run season as a failure on his part?
30:36 --> 30:38 [SPEAKER_01]: See, it's still with the best catcher and baseball.
30:38 --> 30:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
30:38 --> 30:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I'd be curious to one, I'd know that.
30:42 --> 30:45 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's one of the big things I want to see is, yeah, Mariners camp.
30:45 --> 30:47 [SPEAKER_00]: What's obviously one of the stories every year?
30:47 --> 30:48 [SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be the stars.
30:48 --> 30:51 [SPEAKER_00]: It's Cal and Julio and after Cal did what he did last year.
30:51 --> 30:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, where's his head at?
30:53 --> 30:54 [SPEAKER_00]: What does he think he can do in 26?
30:54 --> 30:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Does he think he actually has room to improve on certain things?
30:58 --> 31:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Where he says to himself, yeah, I got to do better at this.
31:00 --> 31:01 [SPEAKER_00]: I got to be better at this.
31:02 --> 31:02 [SPEAKER_00]: I'd be fascinated.
31:03 --> 31:06 [SPEAKER_01]: One of the things I'm looking at, this is a little bit more niche.
31:06 --> 31:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Like I want to, I want to meet Rob Raff Snyder.
31:08 --> 31:09 [SPEAKER_01]: We both want to meet Rob Raff Snyder.
31:09 --> 31:11 [SPEAKER_01]: He's supposed to be a plus.
31:12 --> 31:18 [SPEAKER_01]: since we drew the AJ Pollock comparisons to Rob Raff Snyder when he signed.
31:19 --> 31:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Given the contract, the role, the age, the teams he had played on before, the numbers as a platoon hitter against lefties,
31:29 --> 31:32 [SPEAKER_01]: that he had before, almost matches up perfectly.
31:33 --> 31:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I want to see how he looks at spring training.
31:35 --> 31:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Does he look spry?
31:36 --> 31:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Does he look fast?
31:37 --> 31:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Does he feel confident?
31:38 --> 31:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Does he feel athletic?
31:40 --> 31:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Does he feel like he's still got it in him?
31:44 --> 31:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm curious.
31:45 --> 31:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Now you might say TJ, that seems like a very negative way to approach this.
31:48 --> 31:49 [SPEAKER_01]: And I would agree.
31:50 --> 31:55 [SPEAKER_01]: The problem is, when the Mariners signed AJ Pollock to that one-year contract,
31:55 --> 32:09 [SPEAKER_01]: before the 2023 season, and they had him at spring training, the consensus at a spring training, watching him, from a lot of the beat writers, was that AJ Pollock looked washed.
32:11 --> 32:13 [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm out of my own paranoia.
32:13 --> 32:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I kind of want to go down there and just make sure, assure myself that Rob Raff Snyder does not look washed.
32:20 --> 32:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Does it make you feel any better when HEMBO, friend of the pod, tweets out that over the last four years, Rob Refts Knighter has averaged a 155 WRC plus against lefties?
32:31 --> 32:32 [SPEAKER_01]: That does make me feel better.
32:32 --> 32:35 [SPEAKER_01]: The problem is that was also the case with AJ Pollack.
32:36 --> 32:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
32:39 --> 32:40 [SPEAKER_00]: So you got to tread carefully.
32:41 --> 32:44 [SPEAKER_00]: OK, so storyline number two, Rob Refts Knighter, don't look washed.
32:44 --> 32:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't look washed.
32:46 --> 32:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Number three.
32:49 --> 32:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's see Kate Anderson and Ryan Sloan throw in a game.
32:52 --> 32:54 [SPEAKER_00]: These sessions on the backfield have been awesome.
32:54 --> 32:56 [SPEAKER_00]: We've spent tons of time talking about it already.
32:58 --> 33:03 [SPEAKER_00]: You can't take spring training stats too seriously and find a lines, but I want to see how they look.
33:04 --> 33:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I want to see how they attack hitters.
33:05 --> 33:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope they get to face some real big leakers from other teams because I want to see how they'll fare.
33:11 --> 33:12 [SPEAKER_01]: I had that down too.
33:13 --> 33:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Scene Colt of course would be great, but he's going to be on everyone's list.
33:18 --> 33:25 [SPEAKER_00]: He, in his first game, I don't know if this is a whole storyline in its own right, but we didn't talk about it from Friday's game.
33:25 --> 33:28 [SPEAKER_00]: He went over to, but he scorched two baseballs.
33:28 --> 33:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he nearly left the yard, one pitch after the Michael O'Royal Homer, and he basically flew out to the base of the wall and right field.
33:35 --> 33:47 [SPEAKER_00]: And then he hit a ball wide of firsts in his next abat that was also hit really hard, but Nick Castiano's, somehow, made a miraculous diving stop and flipped to the bag to get them out.
33:48 --> 33:54 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, early on, now Colts struck out twice on Saturday and is to a bat, but early on here, he's on it.
33:55 --> 34:00 [SPEAKER_01]: I also am looking forward to seeing so the minorly guys that we only get to see one time a year.
34:00 --> 34:05 [SPEAKER_01]: There's a good portion of them that we don't get to see any time outside of spring training.
34:07 --> 34:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Kane Anderson might be that guy until he makes the big leagues.
34:09 --> 34:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Like the only opportunity we get to see all of these guys and have all in one place at the same time is spring training.
34:17 --> 34:18 [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm looking forward to that part of it.
34:19 --> 34:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Seeing these guys perform, see him get into games, talk about how they're feeling.
34:23 --> 34:25 [SPEAKER_01]: I think that'll be good.
34:25 --> 34:26 [SPEAKER_01]: I've sneaked you on that.
34:27 --> 34:29 [SPEAKER_01]: You and I both picked up on today.
34:29 --> 34:32 [SPEAKER_01]: You know who the Mariners knew radio analyst is?
34:33 --> 34:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Tell people.
34:34 --> 34:35 [SPEAKER_00]: It's Ryan Healey.
34:37 --> 34:43 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's kind of in our world now because if you followed him in all post career, he's doing baseball content.
34:43 --> 34:48 [SPEAKER_00]: If you go to any of his social media pages, he's talking baseball and doing short form content.
34:48 --> 34:49 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's got a real setup.
34:50 --> 34:51 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to meet him.
34:51 --> 34:52 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope we meet him.
34:53 --> 34:56 [SPEAKER_01]: And it sounds like he's going to be on a good portion of Mariners games in the booth this year.
34:56 --> 35:02 [SPEAKER_01]: So it'll be him, it'll be Furbush, it'll be a J-Bunner, etc, etc., and the booth.
35:03 --> 35:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad he's in there.
35:05 --> 35:05 [SPEAKER_01]: That's great.
35:05 --> 35:08 [SPEAKER_01]: That's another perspective and I can't wait to talk to him.
35:08 --> 35:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
35:08 --> 35:10 [SPEAKER_01]: He was a mariner if you guys remember.
35:11 --> 35:12 [SPEAKER_01]: He did play very well.
35:12 --> 35:16 [SPEAKER_01]: But in 2018 and 2019 he was a mariner's first basement.
35:17 --> 35:18 [SPEAKER_00]: So I think I think you have a backwards.
35:19 --> 35:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't it 17 and 18?
35:20 --> 35:21 [SPEAKER_01]: No, it was 18 and 19.
35:21 --> 35:23 [SPEAKER_01]: 16 and 17.
35:23 --> 35:24 [SPEAKER_01]: He was in Oakland.
35:25 --> 35:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
35:25 --> 35:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
35:25 --> 35:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
35:25 --> 35:26 [SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
35:26 --> 35:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
35:27 --> 35:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Remember when he was in Oakland, he shattered somebody's phone with a home run ball.
35:32 --> 35:32 [SPEAKER_01]: No.
35:32 --> 35:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was a thing.
35:34 --> 35:42 [SPEAKER_00]: He was playing in Seattle and he hit a home run into the upper deck and left field and it landed straight on a fan's phone and just shattered his phone as I phone.
35:43 --> 35:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
35:44 --> 35:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, great.
35:45 --> 35:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Good for him.
35:45 --> 35:47 [SPEAKER_01]: He scored stuff all then.
35:47 --> 35:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
35:48 --> 35:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he did.
35:49 --> 35:50 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I have any other ones.
35:50 --> 35:52 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think we pretty much covered it.
35:52 --> 35:53 [SPEAKER_01]: We want to see stars.
35:53 --> 35:56 [SPEAKER_01]: I want to see Rob Raff Snyder since he's a huge part of this team this year.
35:57 --> 35:59 [SPEAKER_01]: He's supposed to be, and I have my paranoia about him.
35:59 --> 36:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Love to talk to Ryan Haley.
36:00 --> 36:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Charlie Furbish is down there.
36:01 --> 36:02 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see him.
36:03 --> 36:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and seeing all the other media people who are always fantastic and a plus to us.
36:09 --> 36:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Brendan Donovan, is that another one?
36:11 --> 36:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Brendan Donovan would be good.
36:12 --> 36:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I just, I guess we'll find out when we meet him.
36:15 --> 36:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Like he's supposed to be a, you know, grinder, baseball dude.
36:17 --> 36:22 [SPEAKER_01]: I have a feeling he might be maybe a little milk toast, but I guess we'll see.
36:22 --> 36:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's supposed to be fairly quiet.
36:24 --> 36:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
36:25 --> 36:26 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll try, we'll try.
36:26 --> 36:27 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll try.
36:27 --> 36:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he's a huge fan of the portal Ray.
36:28 --> 36:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he did, maybe he did a Mariners crash course.
36:31 --> 36:33 [SPEAKER_01]: It was just doom scrolling or Instagram.
36:33 --> 36:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know what I'm learning?
36:34 --> 36:38 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we might have to keep this name redacted then going for Brendan Donovan.
36:38 --> 36:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Because people seem to have loved it and really latched on to it all off season.
36:41 --> 36:46 [SPEAKER_00]: When we meet people in person these days, people still want to call them name redacted.
36:46 --> 36:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we might have to keep it out during the year.
36:48 --> 36:51 [SPEAKER_01]: And if we have a conversation with Brendan, maybe we'll float out.
36:51 --> 36:56 [SPEAKER_01]: If the conversation's going well, we'll be like, hey, by the way, do you like the nickname name redacted?
36:56 --> 36:57 [SPEAKER_01]: So that's what we gave you the soft season.
36:58 --> 36:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we might have to keep it.
36:59 --> 37:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Like when he hits,
37:01 --> 37:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he doesn't hit that many home runs, but when he comes through in the clutch this year makes a good play in the field, I think we're gonna be have to be tweeting out the highlights and calling it name-redacted, calling it name-redacted.
37:12 --> 37:13 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
37:13 --> 37:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I would say the only other storylines I have are can't wait to have all of our usual arrows on a food which we talked about on our last male bag episode.
37:21 --> 37:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Cannot wait, especially Leo's Island.
37:25 --> 37:33 [SPEAKER_00]: And I know this is a little bit of a niche one, but it's right up our alleys and it kind of piggybacks off what you were talking about in terms of seeing a lot of the prospects.
37:34 --> 37:37 [SPEAKER_00]: I can outweigh to meet Lucas Kelly.
37:38 --> 37:47 [SPEAKER_00]: The first Sun Devil Mariner in the Marine Lairpot era, the first Sun Devil Mariner, honestly, in what's been maybe a decade, and I cannot wait.
37:49 --> 37:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my click was the last one.
37:51 --> 37:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So close to a decade.
37:53 --> 38:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he is the first one in a long time and he's the first drafted one and I don't know how long Yeah, right this is one time.
38:03 --> 38:06 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean this is totally up our alley.
38:06 --> 38:10 [SPEAKER_00]: This is sick So yes, am I looking forward to meeting Lucas Kelly this week?
38:10 --> 38:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely We've talked about all these guys that are kind of our guys on the show You can basically take it to the bank
38:18 --> 38:22 [SPEAKER_00]: that we are gonna be the world's biggest Lucas Kelly fans as Marin fans.
38:22 --> 38:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Because it's just everything we'd ever want.
38:25 --> 38:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Sun devil, Mariners, seems already like a pretty cool dude from the little bit we've gotten to talk to him like just over some messaging.
38:32 --> 38:37 [SPEAKER_00]: But, oh yeah, he's gonna be, he's gonna be in the fold of the Marine Lair pod guys.
38:38 --> 38:39 [SPEAKER_01]: And he throws gas.
38:40 --> 38:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
38:43 --> 38:44 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope he's the next Andre's Munoz.
38:45 --> 38:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope so too, that would be great.
38:47 --> 38:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Be awesome.
38:48 --> 38:49 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, shout out to him.
38:49 --> 38:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to talk to a bunch of the prospects, but certainly him.
38:53 --> 38:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Cause yeah, you're right.
38:53 --> 38:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Like a bunch of the guys, we don't get to see that often.
38:56 --> 39:08 [SPEAKER_00]: And even though names that a lot of people aren't familiar with in terms of the household prospect names, are some guys that we've really gotten to connect with over the years and we really, really like talk and do and get into see when we get the chance.
39:08 --> 39:09 [SPEAKER_00]: And we don't get to see him that often.
39:09 --> 39:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Reban Scooter, Danny Wartchansky, or Tyler Cleveland, or, you know, soon here Lucas Kelly, few others.
39:17 --> 39:18 [SPEAKER_00]: It's, those guys are awesome.
39:18 --> 39:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to get to see him because like you said, you only get certain chances.
39:22 --> 39:26 [SPEAKER_01]: The next time you guys will be hearing us, we will be at Mariners Spring Training.
39:26 --> 39:32 [SPEAKER_01]: So we will be set up on the patio, tapin' and talk in Mariners Spring Training.
39:32 --> 39:34 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll have all of our news and insights.
39:34 --> 39:39 [SPEAKER_01]: That first episode will be Wednesday, the second episode will be Friday, of course, and I'm excited.
39:39 --> 39:41 [SPEAKER_01]: It is really cold and really miserable here.
39:41 --> 39:46 [SPEAKER_01]: So this is coming at a perfect, perfect time.
39:46 --> 39:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
39:46 --> 39:48 [SPEAKER_00]: It's in the 80s all week and we're going to be there.
39:49 --> 39:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
39:49 --> 39:50 [SPEAKER_01]: It's, uh, it's ideal.
39:51 --> 39:54 [SPEAKER_00]: If you guys have the chance, you should watch the next couple episodes on YouTube.
39:54 --> 40:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully you watch on YouTube already, but especially the next couple, because we're going to be, again, 10 toes down in Arizona at the complex with the cool background.
40:04 --> 40:05 [SPEAKER_00]: talking ball and telling you everything we're seeing.
40:05 --> 40:08 [SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully with some fun guests too.
40:08 --> 40:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, hopefully.
