Lyle and TJ react to the sudden promotion of Colt Emerson to the Mariners, and whether or not calling him up was the right move (2:30). They then talk about the injury to Brendan Donovan, and the worries about these nagging injury problems (20:18). They then discuss the disaster of a weekend from the team and where they go from here (25:33).

00:05 --> 00:11 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners are swept by the San Diego Padres in a war-a-wind of a weekend that told us a lot about this team.

00:58 --> 01:02 [SPEAKER_02]: And we welcome you to the episode of the Marine Lair podcast, part of the Just Baseball Podcast Network.
01:03 --> 01:14 [SPEAKER_02]: Recording here on Sunday evening May 17th live from the Hall on Oxidental, after our coronal watch party, it was a fantastic and fun time, except for the baseball game.
01:14 --> 01:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Good Lord.
01:16 --> 01:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Worst weekend of the season.
01:18 --> 01:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Worst series of the season.
01:19 --> 01:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Why, why do we keep saying this?
01:21 --> 01:25 [SPEAKER_02]: This is like the third different time we've labeled Worst series of the season.
01:26 --> 01:27 [SPEAKER_00]: We keep saying it because they keep saying it.
01:27 --> 01:28 [SPEAKER_02]: Because we're loving it.
01:28 --> 01:28 [SPEAKER_02]: Because it is.
01:29 --> 01:29 [SPEAKER_02]: Because it is.
01:29 --> 01:34 [SPEAKER_02]: We have also just frustrated that the fact this is case happening.
01:34 --> 01:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Listen, we posted that graph or that meme of Homer and Bart Simpson.
01:40 --> 01:41 [SPEAKER_00]: This is the Worst Laws of the season.
01:42 --> 01:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Worst Laws of the season so far.
01:44 --> 01:47 [SPEAKER_00]: We're not going to stop posting that because they keep one up in it.
01:47 --> 01:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Like they keep one up in their series losses or game losses.
01:50 --> 01:56 [SPEAKER_00]: It's started with that Padre's loss in San Diego, followed up by the Royals weekend and now followed up by a Padre's weekend at home.
01:57 --> 01:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this has been to bad baseball that's been played.
02:00 --> 02:05 [SPEAKER_00]: For a team that had worlds has haven't wavered, has world series expectations.
02:05 --> 02:07 [SPEAKER_00]: They're playing some real 500 ball in the middle of May.
02:08 --> 02:12 [SPEAKER_02]: And so hilarious that they're playing like they're objectively playing like shit.
02:12 --> 02:17 [SPEAKER_02]: But there are only two games at a first place in the West, and I think as of right now are still in a playoff position.
02:18 --> 02:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, if I have that right, the American League West and the American League is terrible.
02:21 --> 02:23 [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to keep saying that all year.
02:23 --> 02:24 [SPEAKER_02]: They still have a position right now.
02:25 --> 02:27 [SPEAKER_00]: You tell me, as you pull up the wild card standings, are they?
02:27 --> 02:29 [SPEAKER_02]: They are a game out of the playoffs right now.
02:30 --> 02:35 [SPEAKER_02]: As bad as the Mariners have played, there are two games out of a division lead and their one game out of a playoff spot.
02:36 --> 02:42 [SPEAKER_02]: So if there's any year wild at the Mariners, they're just going to really, really underperform expectations.
02:42 --> 02:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Probably this year and you know what like we'll talk about it in the big stories of this podcast episode one, especially that's gonna lead off this podcast This team is really injured like they're really getting bit by the injury bug right now And I think it is leading to a lot of their struggles.
02:58 --> 03:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Some of it is the guys actually playing But some of it is the fact like the guys you expect to be good in playing on this roster every day or not No, they're not It just drives me nuts.
03:08 --> 03:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you though like
03:10 --> 03:12 [SPEAKER_00]: for a team again, I can't say it enough.
03:12 --> 03:19 [SPEAKER_00]: And expectations like this can't one year, they start out like the braves, where they just shoot right out of the gate hot and stay there.
03:19 --> 03:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying you're gonna play 800 baseball all year or whatever the braves have been.
03:24 --> 03:28 [SPEAKER_00]: They're not that crazy high up, but really good baseball.
03:28 --> 03:33 [SPEAKER_00]: early on and just stay there rather than having to dig yourselves out of a hole because we were talking about it today.
03:34 --> 03:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's just say it here for everybody listening and watching.
03:36 --> 03:38 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll look right into the camera and say this.
03:39 --> 03:41 [SPEAKER_00]: The Seattle Mariners have been over 500.
03:42 --> 03:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Zero times this season.
03:45 --> 03:47 [SPEAKER_00]: This team has world series expectations.
03:47 --> 03:49 [SPEAKER_00]: It's made the 17th when you're listening.
03:49 --> 03:50 [SPEAKER_00]: May the 18th.
03:51 --> 03:51 [SPEAKER_00]: They've been over 500.
03:52 --> 03:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Zero times this season.
03:53 --> 03:55 [SPEAKER_00]: They lost an opening night.
03:55 --> 03:56 [SPEAKER_00]: never have been over five hundred cents.
03:57 --> 04:12 [SPEAKER_02]: And they've been exactly five hundred four times and if yet to eclipse that mark any of those four times that they played and even like this like this stretch that they've been on, they got close to five hundred and now they're swept by the San Diego Padres and they're back to where they are.
04:12 --> 04:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Almost only works with horseshoes and hand grenades dude doesn't work with an actual baseball record Almost over 500 is not over 500 almost over 500 is not guaranteed is not putting you in a playoff spot I know they're one game out of it right now.
04:27 --> 04:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's be real like you got to finish over 500 to make the playoff When it's all said and done the way things are gonna shake out at the end of the year you've got to be over 500
04:35 --> 04:35 [SPEAKER_02]: And you know what?
04:35 --> 04:38 [SPEAKER_02]: I still think this team is going to finish over 500.
04:38 --> 04:42 [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think Lyle and I might have different perspectives on this because we're talking about this earlier.
04:42 --> 04:48 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still not that worried, especially given the version of the Mariners we're watching right now.
04:48 --> 04:53 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's no cow rally, there's no Brennan Donovan, and there's no bullpen.
04:55 --> 04:58 [SPEAKER_02]: Now, where you could actually gripe as the starting pitching, we'll get into that in a little bit later.
04:59 --> 05:08 [SPEAKER_02]: But like for the most part, the Mariners have a roster that is significantly less talented than what is supposed to be on the field when they're healthy.
05:08 --> 05:09 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that's not good.
05:09 --> 05:10 [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not good.
05:10 --> 05:11 [SPEAKER_00]: And you can't control injuries.
05:12 --> 05:13 [SPEAKER_00]: That thing's out of their control.
05:13 --> 05:14 [SPEAKER_00]: That stuff is out of their control.
05:16 --> 05:22 [SPEAKER_00]: But it doesn't mean that it gives you a necessary out to just start dropping game after game and gets swept.
05:22 --> 05:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
05:24 --> 05:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not like the pod rays have world out a rolled out a world beat or a starting pitchers this week and they didn't know the world out Walker Bueller and Lucas Gielito on Saturday and Sunday.
05:34 --> 05:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Two guys who have seriously bounced around the league the last couple years because they are not the guys they once used to be either of them.
05:40 --> 05:43 [SPEAKER_00]: They carved the mariners up like Swiss cheese this weekend.
05:43 --> 05:52 [SPEAKER_02]: The offense is a problem for the mayor and until they, until they figure this thing out, maybe cold Emerson will be the savior, but maybe not.
05:52 --> 05:56 [SPEAKER_02]: Before we talk about cold, because I know we have lots of talk about cold, lots of talk about Brennan Donovan.
05:57 --> 06:02 [SPEAKER_02]: Want to tell you guys about Corona because Corona is the official import peer sponsor of the Seattle Mariners.
06:02 --> 06:03 [SPEAKER_02]: Corona puts on
06:03 --> 06:07 [SPEAKER_02]: These watch events with us throughout the entire 20, 26 season.
06:07 --> 06:10 [SPEAKER_02]: We had a fantastic time here at Oxidental Hall today.
06:10 --> 06:16 [SPEAKER_02]: We'll have more at Queen End beer Hall, Moss Bay Hall, and one more time here at Oxidental Hall this season.
06:16 --> 06:19 [SPEAKER_02]: So if you haven't been to event yet, we recommend you get 20 of these events.
06:19 --> 06:24 [SPEAKER_02]: And while you're here, or while you're in the ballpark, you can check out the Corona family of brands.
06:24 --> 06:28 [SPEAKER_02]: You can go to the Corona Beach bar and let field where they have these options for you.
06:28 --> 06:31 [SPEAKER_02]: They have Corona premiere, which is lighter than the light option.
06:31 --> 06:35 [SPEAKER_02]: You have Corona Sunbrough, which is an easy drinking flavored option.
06:35 --> 06:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Corona NA is the true non-alcoholic option, and then Corona extra is the option that takes everyone back to the beach or to the ballpark.
06:43 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_02]: So check out Corona at your... soon as Mariners game, or here at your favorite whole location.
06:50 --> 06:51 [SPEAKER_02]: Code Emerson to the show.
06:52 --> 06:53 [SPEAKER_02]: What a surprise, man.
06:54 --> 06:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
06:55 --> 06:58 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm really, really struggling.
06:58 --> 06:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm struggling with this a little bit.
06:59 --> 07:00 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'll tell you why.
07:01 --> 07:01 [SPEAKER_00]: We know Colt.
07:02 --> 07:03 [SPEAKER_00]: We really like Colt.
07:03 --> 07:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Colt is a friend of the pod.
07:04 --> 07:09 [SPEAKER_00]: He's been on, he's been on our social channels, he's been on the long form stuff where we've actually sat out with them.
07:09 --> 07:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Back when he was in Everett, which was only like a calendar year ago, by the way.
07:13 --> 07:17 [SPEAKER_00]: This man has gone from Everett to the big leagues and very, very short time.
07:17 --> 07:19 [SPEAKER_00]: He's gone from being drafted to the big leagues and very short time.
07:20 --> 07:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, we are Colt Emerson fans.
07:22 --> 07:23 [SPEAKER_00]: We are excited for him.
07:23 --> 07:25 [SPEAKER_00]: We think he's got a bright, big league future ahead of him.
07:27 --> 07:32 [SPEAKER_00]: to be called up here on May the 17th as a result of necessity at an injury.
07:32 --> 07:36 [SPEAKER_00]: This is really, really what I wanted to see them avoid.
07:36 --> 07:47 [SPEAKER_00]: I did not want to see them yank up their top prospect at a necessity for an injury when there are still an argument to be made that he needed more development time down in AAA.
07:47 --> 07:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Now here we are.
07:48 --> 07:49 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm fired up for Cole.
07:49 --> 07:50 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to get the narrative twisted.
07:51 --> 07:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Do I think he's going to have a fantastic big league career?
07:53 --> 07:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I do.
07:53 --> 07:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Do I think he's going to be a cornerstone piece for the Mariners for the next decade?
07:57 --> 07:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I do.
07:57 --> 08:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I just would have liked to see him have a few more weeks down in the minor leagues.
08:03 --> 08:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let me present this question.
08:05 --> 08:07 [SPEAKER_02]: You, I agree everything you just said.
08:07 --> 08:10 [SPEAKER_02]: I don't necessarily think Colt was quote unquote ready.
08:10 --> 08:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Like Colt were the Mariners add Colt Emerson to the roster, not because they need him on the roster, because Colt Emerson is ready to be on the Seattle Mariners roster.
08:20 --> 08:22 [SPEAKER_02]: But you also said this leading off the podcast.
08:22 --> 08:26 [SPEAKER_02]: This is a team with world series expectations.
08:26 --> 08:33 [SPEAKER_02]: As far as we know, Colt Emerson is still, even with his struggles in AAA, the best option to come up and fill in on the Mariners roster.
08:33 --> 08:34 [SPEAKER_02]: He is.
08:34 --> 08:38 [SPEAKER_02]: Does that not make you feel any bit better about the situation?
08:38 --> 08:51 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it does, because I guess the situation does present itself, where if you're solution here with the callup Brock Rodden for the next four weeks, because we'll get to Donovan's injury here in a minute, it doesn't sound like it's going to be all that short term.
08:51 --> 08:58 [SPEAKER_00]: If you were to have to call up Brock Rodden for a month and legitimately having
08:59 --> 09:01 [SPEAKER_00]: That's not necessarily a recipe for success, either.
09:01 --> 09:06 [SPEAKER_00]: No disrespect to Brock Rodden, because he could be a real utility player in the big leagues at some point.
09:06 --> 09:10 [SPEAKER_00]: But Brock Rodden is not with the world on fire down in Tacoma.
09:10 --> 09:13 [SPEAKER_00]: He's barely been an above league average hitter by WRC plus.
09:13 --> 09:23 [SPEAKER_00]: So yes, do you need the best option for a long term period to avoid trying to fall your weight into the gutter and get out of competition in the American League?
09:23 --> 09:24 [SPEAKER_00]: And the American League West?
09:24 --> 09:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I get it, because it's a long term thing.
09:26 --> 09:27 [SPEAKER_00]: You want the best option.
09:28 --> 09:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I just also really want to see things done right by the player because
09:34 --> 09:37 [SPEAKER_00]: I will always and forever have Jared Kalnik, PTSD.
09:37 --> 09:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that's a case with cold.
09:39 --> 09:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not.
09:39 --> 09:41 [SPEAKER_00]: He called up with his dick frames in AAA.
09:41 --> 09:43 [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have his COVID season wiped out.
09:43 --> 09:44 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that's the case.
09:45 --> 09:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that's what's happening here.
09:46 --> 09:54 [SPEAKER_00]: But just the idea of not giving the prospect the full length possible time to say like, they are fully ready.
09:54 --> 09:57 [SPEAKER_00]: When Cole Young got up last year, he was tearing it up in AAA.
09:57 --> 10:00 [SPEAKER_00]: It was clear he was not being challenged and he was ready.
10:02 --> 10:03 [SPEAKER_02]: I agree with all of that.
10:03 --> 10:10 [SPEAKER_02]: I would prefer the perfect situation for Cole Emerson, but this is the Seattle Mariners we are talking about.
10:10 --> 10:15 [SPEAKER_02]: And not everything is going to be perfect when making your Big League debut.
10:15 --> 10:22 [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes you're just needed at the Big League level and it's up to Cole Emerson, Premier Prospect, to figure it out up at the Big League level.
10:23 --> 10:26 [SPEAKER_02]: The reason this is different from Jared Keltnik is it's a number of things.
10:26 --> 10:29 [SPEAKER_02]: Number one, he has played more games in AAA than Jared Dead.
10:29 --> 10:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Way more.
10:30 --> 10:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Way more, number two, the makeup of both players.
10:33 --> 10:34 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, there are some similarities.
10:35 --> 10:40 [SPEAKER_02]: There are some pretty key differences there that I think allow Cold Emerson to handle the situation a lot better.
10:40 --> 10:48 [SPEAKER_02]: Number three, when Jared Kellenck was put on the Mariners roster in 2021, he was expected to be the best player on the team right away.
10:49 --> 10:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, dude, you're supposed to be a star.
10:50 --> 10:52 [SPEAKER_02]: No pressure you're hitting lead off.
10:52 --> 10:54 [SPEAKER_02]: Go save the season or offense, kind of sucks.
10:56 --> 10:59 [SPEAKER_02]: This time with Cold Emerson,
11:00 --> 11:01 [SPEAKER_02]: night right now.
11:01 --> 11:03 [SPEAKER_02]: He's sitting night and he's going to stay down there.
11:03 --> 11:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Probably most of the time unless he starts crushing the baseball.
11:06 --> 11:08 [SPEAKER_02]: It's a pretty different situation.
11:08 --> 11:11 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, as Colt could Colt struggle against Big League pitching.
11:11 --> 11:11 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
11:13 --> 11:17 [SPEAKER_02]: But hearing more from, you know, people were talking to about the situation itself.
11:18 --> 11:19 [SPEAKER_02]: I've been pretty consistent.
11:19 --> 11:21 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pro winning games.
11:22 --> 11:28 [SPEAKER_02]: And if Cole Emerson's the best option for the Mariners to win more baseball games this season, then he should definitely be up on this big league roster.
11:28 --> 11:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to see things done right by the player.
11:31 --> 11:31 [SPEAKER_00]: That's all.
11:31 --> 11:36 [SPEAKER_00]: He may come up and he may just tear it up and he'll prove to everybody that he didn't need more time down in the minor leagues.
11:36 --> 11:37 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope that's the case.
11:38 --> 11:44 [SPEAKER_00]: It just gets me a little antsy when guys want to prospect a premier prospect as called up as a result of an injury.
11:44 --> 12:13 [SPEAKER_02]: but not everyone who struggles at the big league level initially and gets set back down because that's the fear right that's the fear he comes up here he really struggles then donovan's back healthy and some of the other and fielder sort of push emerson back to triple a and you have to call emerson back up like this is where the PTSD of jerk kona comes back in because he never came back up outside of that one month and twenty twenty three came back up and succeeded and it's like all right he's broken they broke him he's it's over you know who came up struggled in the out sent back down and turned out to be
12:14 --> 12:15 [SPEAKER_02]: Do I want to guess who I'm thinking now, right now?
12:15 --> 12:16 [SPEAKER_02]: You're going to say, Cal.
12:17 --> 12:19 [SPEAKER_02]: I heard Ben Williams in from the crowd.
12:19 --> 12:21 [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think did he get sent back?
12:21 --> 12:23 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, did he get sent back down?
12:23 --> 12:24 [SPEAKER_02]: He did.
12:24 --> 12:25 [SPEAKER_02]: He did get sent back down.
12:25 --> 12:26 [SPEAKER_02]: He did get sent back down.
12:26 --> 12:31 [SPEAKER_02]: Isn't he having like a, he's doing the same thing in Tacoma in Tampa though, right?
12:33 --> 12:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
12:33 --> 12:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, okay, so everybody's talking about, oh, I like Ben Williams and here in the crowd.
12:36 --> 12:38 [SPEAKER_00]: And our crowd is awesome, by the way.
12:38 --> 12:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, you guys that came out to watch.
12:40 --> 12:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
12:40 --> 12:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Whoo!
12:40 --> 12:41 [SPEAKER_00]: But I will say,
12:42 --> 12:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe we have to talk about Ben Williams and on a cold Emerson episode, Ben Williams and doesn't walk, he doesn't hit for power and he's not playing good defense.
12:48 --> 12:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know what you, I was okay trading Ben Williams and I was too.
12:53 --> 12:56 [SPEAKER_02]: The player I was referring to, I think everyone in the crowd has heard of this guy.
12:56 --> 12:57 [SPEAKER_02]: His name is up, Mike Trow.
12:58 --> 12:59 [SPEAKER_00]: No, him too.
12:59 --> 13:00 [SPEAKER_02]: I think he turned out okay.
13:00 --> 13:01 [SPEAKER_02]: What are you going to say, Cal Raleigh?
13:01 --> 13:06 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Cal, yes, and Cal, like, Cal, Stunk when he came up the first couple of times.
13:07 --> 13:11 [SPEAKER_02]: It literally took the Mariners being like, dude, it's time to figure it out.
13:11 --> 13:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're we need you to catch you got you got to figure it out and then what a cow roll I do figure it out maybe that will happen with colt where cow got call back up because of an injury and they said we need you we need you to play that's when he got going maybe that would be the case with colt yeah I just
13:26 --> 13:27 [SPEAKER_00]: It goes without being said.
13:27 --> 13:29 [SPEAKER_00]: I really don't ever want to see him send back down.
13:29 --> 13:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope he is here to stay for the rest of his career.
13:31 --> 13:35 [SPEAKER_02]: So the other options besides having cult up at the big league levels, what?
13:35 --> 13:38 [SPEAKER_02]: Playing the or Clint continuing to play Leo at third every day?
13:38 --> 13:39 [SPEAKER_02]: Or call a Brock Rodden.
13:40 --> 13:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Or call a Brock Rodden.
13:41 --> 13:42 [SPEAKER_02]: Or recall Ryan Bliss.
13:42 --> 13:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
13:43 --> 13:44 [SPEAKER_02]: But like dead serious.
13:45 --> 13:49 [SPEAKER_02]: At the benefit of cult getting more AAA games, would you have done that?
13:51 --> 13:53 [SPEAKER_02]: For three more weeks or for six more weeks.
13:54 --> 13:56 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, Donovan sounds like he could be out six weeks.
13:56 --> 14:01 [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe I want to let somebody else do it for a couple more weeks.
14:01 --> 14:03 [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe I want to call that brought in for 10 to 12, 14 days.
14:04 --> 14:08 [SPEAKER_02]: If it's only two weeks, I'm fine calling up call.
14:08 --> 14:11 [SPEAKER_02]: You know what, there are some things he can still figure out at the Big League level.
14:11 --> 14:19 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, and to be fair to the other side of this coin and the other side of this argument, Cole Dammer said in the last two weeks has really, really started to hit into coma.
14:19 --> 14:22 [SPEAKER_00]: The overall numbers with the rain years are not otherworldly.
14:22 --> 14:23 [SPEAKER_00]: They're not like it a blow you away.
14:23 --> 14:27 [SPEAKER_00]: The last two weeks are what you'd want to see out of a top prospect.
14:27 --> 14:29 [SPEAKER_00]: He's hitting over three hundred.
14:29 --> 14:30 [SPEAKER_00]: He's hitting about three nineteen.
14:30 --> 14:35 [SPEAKER_00]: his OPS is over 900, and he's got a 134WRC plus.
14:35 --> 14:39 [SPEAKER_00]: That's the number to listen to when you're talking about a prospect sitting in Triple A.
14:39 --> 14:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Because in Triple A, if you have a high OPS, that doesn't always mean everything, because Triple A is a Bambox.
14:44 --> 14:45 [SPEAKER_00]: You don't face good pitching.
14:46 --> 14:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Every ballpark you play in besides the coma is going to elevate the baseball for you.
14:50 --> 14:58 [SPEAKER_00]: WRC plus is league and park adjusted and it says Colt Emerson in the last two weeks has been 34% above the league average That says that should be a guy.
14:58 --> 15:09 [SPEAKER_01]: That says that's a guy that's really hitting and he's gonna make the Mariners better on defense at third base as well Well, he played shortstop He probably he probably
15:10 --> 15:12 [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, I don't know if I'd go that far.
15:12 --> 15:15 [SPEAKER_02]: Someone in the crowd suggested the Mariners DFA JP Crawford.
15:16 --> 15:17 [SPEAKER_02]: I would not go that far.
15:17 --> 15:20 [SPEAKER_02]: I, because JP's bat needs to still be in the lineup every day.
15:20 --> 15:20 [SPEAKER_01]: It does.
15:20 --> 15:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I would.
15:21 --> 15:22 [SPEAKER_01]: I would.
15:22 --> 15:25 [SPEAKER_01]: I would probably play Colta Shortstop if it was up to me.
15:25 --> 15:27 [SPEAKER_02]: Do you see him at third base today?
15:27 --> 15:28 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, pretty smooth.
15:28 --> 15:30 [SPEAKER_02]: He's always, always been pretty smooth.
15:31 --> 15:33 [SPEAKER_02]: You just got to convince like the Mariners to do this.
15:34 --> 15:39 [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to say that they don't want to destroy the clubhouse culture, which is what they're going to choose.
15:39 --> 15:41 [SPEAKER_00]: And if that's what they're going to choose, that's what they're going to choose.
15:41 --> 15:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily agree with it, but they must think things could really get fractured in there if they make that move.
15:46 --> 15:54 [SPEAKER_02]: And it's never been the Mariners at least in this current iteration to choose defense is it well they've been a bad defense of team for how many years Uh, yeah, quite quite a few.
15:54 --> 15:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I mean, you to get worse.
15:55 --> 15:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, their short stop is in the first percentile of the league and outs above average.
15:59 --> 16:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Donovan was bottom five.
16:01 --> 16:08 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Randy is, well, we know how Randy has Luke Rayleigh has been one of the worst outfielders in major league baseball by defense.
16:08 --> 16:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they don't play defense.
16:09 --> 16:10 [SPEAKER_02]: Now the cold Emerson is up.
16:10 --> 16:12 [SPEAKER_02]: What is your expectation for him?
16:13 --> 16:17 [SPEAKER_00]: I think people should set some pretty fair ones.
16:17 --> 16:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't expect Superstardom right away, because that's not fair, and I don't think he's gonna be that.
16:22 --> 16:24 [SPEAKER_00]: If he is, great, I'll be pleasantly blown away.
16:25 --> 16:35 [SPEAKER_00]: If Cole Demerson is a 105 to 110 WRC plus hitter, his rookie year, let alone his first couple months, and he plays good defense, and he doesn't strike out a ton.
16:36 --> 16:42 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a win if he is a productive nine hitter as a rookie and for at least the first couple months.
16:42 --> 16:42 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a win.
16:42 --> 16:45 [SPEAKER_00]: If he is a bubbly diverge as a hitter, that's a win.
16:45 --> 16:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So I would say he is going to help this team.
16:49 --> 16:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't expect Superstardom.
16:51 --> 16:55 [SPEAKER_00]: If he displays Superstardom, awesome.
16:55 --> 17:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't put those unfair expectations on them as a kid who is 20 years old in the big leagues.
17:00 --> 17:03 [SPEAKER_02]: And we just want to remind people, Cole Young did as rookie last season.
17:03 --> 17:07 [SPEAKER_02]: He had a 607 OPS and an OPS plus of 77.
17:08 --> 17:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Colt had his hot stretches last year in the summer last year for about six weeks.
17:11 --> 17:12 [SPEAKER_00]: He was fire.
17:12 --> 17:19 [SPEAKER_02]: He was really good, but collectively at the end of the year, a 20 slash 21 year old will go through some struggles at some point.
17:19 --> 17:24 [SPEAKER_02]: He'd be like, well, this guy on the mound throws left handed and he throws 96 and has a slider and a change up.
17:24 --> 17:26 [SPEAKER_02]: They don't really have this into coma.
17:26 --> 17:28 [SPEAKER_02]: This is a little difficult.
17:28 --> 17:32 [SPEAKER_02]: There are my piece of stretchers that coal, coal sees that, I'm not gonna have to.
17:32 --> 17:33 [SPEAKER_02]: coal and coal.
17:34 --> 17:36 [SPEAKER_02]: This is gonna be more and more these days.
17:36 --> 17:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Especially because come next year, that's your middle infield deal, you're gonna have to really emphasize that tea.
17:41 --> 17:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
17:42 --> 17:46 [SPEAKER_02]: So, but coal young collectively last year, ended up with a 607 OPS, right?
17:47 --> 17:51 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'd say anything over a 700 OPS for Colt Demerson is a win.
17:51 --> 18:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Remember that Colt Young last year was a top 40 prospect when he came up and he was, and people were feeling a little bit more confident and his offensive profile both, you know, collect both approach wise at the plate and the kind of damage you could do and he actually made contact with the baseball.
18:06 --> 18:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
18:06 --> 18:16 [SPEAKER_02]: Colt and his hot streaks can do that, but it doesn't necessarily mean he will do it his rookie year.
18:16 --> 18:18 [SPEAKER_02]: have a lot of value on defense.
18:18 --> 18:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I think you will.
18:20 --> 18:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I think for a team that needs some defense, he's going to provide some value on defense.
18:23 --> 18:26 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's not going to steal any bags like crazy.
18:26 --> 18:27 [SPEAKER_00]: He'll get a few.
18:27 --> 18:29 [SPEAKER_00]: But he is a very good base runner.
18:29 --> 18:32 [SPEAKER_00]: And for the most part, from everything it seems like for what he's done in the minor leagues.
18:32 --> 18:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Pretty.
18:33 --> 18:35 [SPEAKER_00]: tactical base runner like a pretty smart base runner.
18:36 --> 18:42 [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think you're going to see it see him swipe 20 bags or anything, but I think you'll see him help their athleticism and he will help their base running.
18:42 --> 18:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So there's going to be areas of the game that cold Emerson impacts, even if he's not blowing people away with his bat right away.
18:50 --> 18:55 [SPEAKER_02]: Let's walk people a little bit through how shocking this was today.
18:55 --> 18:57 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we were shocked at the field.
18:57 --> 18:59 [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's when I want to dive into the most.
18:59 --> 19:01 [SPEAKER_02]: Most people at home were shocked.
19:01 --> 19:07 [SPEAKER_02]: You and I had been pretty consistent in that we weren't expecting to see Cole Emerson until June at this point.
19:07 --> 19:07 [SPEAKER_02]: Minimum.
19:07 --> 19:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Minimum.
19:08 --> 19:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
19:08 --> 19:09 [SPEAKER_02]: Minimum at this point.
19:09 --> 19:11 [SPEAKER_02]: Because it's like you wanted to see a month and a half.
19:12 --> 19:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Ish, month to month and a half of consistent good play a AAA for him to come up and perform.
19:18 --> 19:39 [SPEAKER_02]: to see like how shocked we were standing on the field and like objectively staring at JP Crawford as the news came in that cold Emerson got called up and it's like oh whoa and i'm looking out on all the players in the field is like oh they have no idea no i was looking right at Cole Young because those guys were buddies i'm thinking of myself he probably has no idea his buddy just got called to the show
19:39 --> 19:48 [SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, not even everyone on the Mariners knew it went up to someone on the mirror and say, hey, do you realize they just called up cold Emerson's like, oh, no, I mean, the stuff moves pretty quickly.
19:48 --> 19:53 [SPEAKER_02]: It moves fast and cold Emerson was in the lineup for Tacoma.
19:53 --> 19:56 [SPEAKER_02]: He was literally in uniform ready to play for the rain years today in an afternoon game.
19:57 --> 20:00 [SPEAKER_02]: And he got scratching got called up and made his major league debut today.
20:00 --> 20:02 [SPEAKER_02]: It's really funny how how that happens.
20:02 --> 20:06 [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, for all the people like the players find out when we find out.
20:06 --> 20:07 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
20:07 --> 20:08 [SPEAKER_02]: crazy.
20:08 --> 20:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Very quickly.
20:09 --> 20:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Very, very fast.
20:10 --> 20:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Should we talk about Donovan?
20:12 --> 20:13 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we have to.
20:13 --> 20:14 [SPEAKER_00]: That's the reason cold ever since.
20:14 --> 20:17 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, before we talk about bread and Donovan, though, let's pause here for an end.
20:19 --> 20:22 [SPEAKER_02]: We always want our listeners to be informed about the Game of Baseball and the Mariners.
20:22 --> 20:29 [SPEAKER_02]: Believe it or not, there was a time where we had to learn what catch probability was, or why a manager only uses his clothes there in the night in it.
20:29 --> 20:32 [SPEAKER_02]: And it's our goal to make sure everyone understands these things when they listen to us.
20:32 --> 20:35 [SPEAKER_02]: You can think about accidents and Davis law group the same way.
20:35 --> 20:37 [SPEAKER_02]: They want you to know your rights in the case of an accident.
20:37 --> 20:42 [SPEAKER_02]: That's why Chris Davis, founder of the Davis law group, wrote a series of Washington accident books.
20:42 --> 20:47 [SPEAKER_02]: He turned common questions into easy to understand books to help people navigate the process.
20:47 --> 20:52 [SPEAKER_02]: and they've given away over 100 free copies to people across Washington.
20:52 --> 20:53 [SPEAKER_02]: They want you to be informed.
20:54 --> 20:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Divis law group has been representing accident victims since 1994.
20:57 --> 21:07 [SPEAKER_02]: They're one of the top rated locally owned personal injury firms on Google, and their in-house investigation team can handle complex cases, and will prepare every claim like it's going to trial.
21:07 --> 21:13 [SPEAKER_02]: They only take cases when they believe they can truly help, and you don't pay a fee unless they get you a result.
21:13 --> 21:15 [SPEAKER_02]: If you've been injured and want to better understand your options,
21:15 --> 21:19 [SPEAKER_02]: You can request a free no obligation case evaluation with their team.
21:19 --> 21:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Just click the link in our bio or visit dlgcaddle.com slash baseball to learn more.
21:24 --> 21:29 [SPEAKER_02]: That's dlgcaddle.com slash baseball to learn more.
21:31 --> 21:38 [SPEAKER_02]: Brendan Donovan going back on the injured list is going to really hurt this Mariners team.
21:38 --> 21:39 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm happy for Colt.
21:40 --> 21:44 [SPEAKER_02]: Brennan Donovan being out of this lineup is going to be a huge loss.
21:44 --> 21:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, in a perfect world, we were going to see Colt and Donovan together.
21:49 --> 21:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
21:49 --> 21:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Because that isn't how you talk about lengthening a lineup.
21:52 --> 22:00 [SPEAKER_00]: You have Coljong and Colt, Emerson at the bottom of the lineup, and you flip it back to Donovan and then Julio, and if he was healthy cal at the top, I mean, that's a lot to dream on.
22:00 --> 22:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Now you have Colt Emerson up because Donovan's hurt.
22:04 --> 22:17 [SPEAKER_00]: and you're putting a lot obviously on a rookie and one of your best offensive players that premier acquisition outside of Josh Naylor this off season is out for the second time in two months and this time it sounds like it may be for a while.
22:18 --> 22:26 [SPEAKER_02]: So it's a growing strain for Brendan Donovan, and they said they would reevaluate him in two to three weeks.
22:26 --> 22:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think their hope is he'll be at full baseball activity in two to three weeks, but that doesn't mean he's back on the field in two to three that three weeks.
22:33 --> 22:42 [SPEAKER_00]: That means he's feeling pain free in that time, and then he has to go and rehab assignment, and then he has to, you know, go through all the protocols of coming back from rehab with that way.
22:42 --> 22:43 [SPEAKER_00]: With that way.
22:44 --> 22:46 [SPEAKER_00]: of an injury that has clearly been bothering him now for a while.
22:46 --> 22:48 [SPEAKER_00]: This sports hernia thing is not gone away.
22:49 --> 22:49 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
22:50 --> 22:53 [SPEAKER_02]: There are a lot of cascading things that come along with the sports hernia.
22:54 --> 22:58 [SPEAKER_02]: And now Brendan Donovan is injured how many different parts of his body so far this year?
22:58 --> 22:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a lot.
22:59 --> 23:00 [SPEAKER_00]: What he said a hip hip.
23:01 --> 23:01 [SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
23:01 --> 23:03 [SPEAKER_00]: He's had a groin.
23:03 --> 23:04 [SPEAKER_02]: Hip now groin.
23:04 --> 23:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
23:05 --> 23:06 [SPEAKER_02]: What was the other thing?
23:07 --> 23:09 [SPEAKER_00]: There's something else at one point.
23:09 --> 23:12 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, he's been in out of a lineup like three or four times now.
23:12 --> 23:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, look, man, we were really excited.
23:14 --> 23:15 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, it was sick one of the times.
23:16 --> 23:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
23:16 --> 23:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Look, we were excited when they traded for him.
23:18 --> 23:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't get us wrong.
23:19 --> 23:20 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's a really good player when he's on the field.
23:20 --> 23:21 [SPEAKER_00]: But...
23:21 --> 23:27 [SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about a guy who's played 130 games or more once in his big league career.
23:27 --> 23:29 [SPEAKER_00]: And we're starting to see some of the effects of that.
23:29 --> 23:35 [SPEAKER_00]: We're starting to see again a guy who's clearly not going to play 130 games this year because he's been decimated by injuries.
23:35 --> 23:40 [SPEAKER_00]: And again, aside from bringing back Nailor, which again, Nailor was already on your team last year.
23:40 --> 23:50 [SPEAKER_00]: So when you're talking about augmenting the team that you had that got to game seven of the ALCS one season ago and adding to it, the only true offensive player you added
23:50 --> 24:10 [SPEAKER_00]: was done of it and that was a replacement of a you had a swara and ref Snyder well that's a conversation in itself yeah yes and the premier guy you have augmented your roster with is not on the field no which is a it's a huge problem i didn't think that injuries would be a problem for bread and donovan what he would come here
24:11 --> 24:29 [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, now in the first two months, I mean, it's pretty clear, it's it's pretty clear injuries are a problem with this and maybe the Mariners lineup is not deep enough to work around the bread and down of an injury because I mean, with bread and down of an out of line up, the Mariners have struggled to consistently score runs.
24:29 --> 24:30 [SPEAKER_02]: It's weird.
24:30 --> 24:32 [SPEAKER_02]: We talk about this with so many people.
24:32 --> 24:35 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners are being are successful offensively.
24:35 --> 25:00 [SPEAKER_02]: in left field the season in center field in right field, at least in some portions of the platoon at first base at second base at short stop third base has been hit or missed with none of it's it's been a success when none of them tell the catchers really been the only position the Mariners haven't gotten consistent offensive production out of the season and yet the Mariners haven't scored consistently all year now and they're losing guys from their everyday lineup.
25:01 --> 25:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I call that a problem.
25:03 --> 25:04 [SPEAKER_02]: I would call that a problem too.
25:04 --> 25:11 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not, it's not one of those things where it's like, well, when this guy gets going and this guy gets going, like the pod raise, for example, right?
25:11 --> 25:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Who make no sense?
25:13 --> 25:16 [SPEAKER_00]: They're at the top of the AL West with TOTS.
25:16 --> 25:18 [SPEAKER_00]: He's not having a home run, manny struggling.
25:19 --> 25:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Buggards has been fine, like Buggards has had, Buggards have been pretty solid, but manny and TOTS struggling,
25:25 --> 25:28 [SPEAKER_00]: They're 28th in the league in OPS, by the way, as a team.
25:28 --> 25:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Entering the weekend, their offense as a hole is not in quality.
25:31 --> 25:33 [SPEAKER_00]: The rotation has not been anything special.
25:34 --> 25:35 [SPEAKER_00]: And you're there winning all these games.
25:36 --> 25:41 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners have all these guys hitting where it's not one of those things like the Padre's, where you're waiting for all these guys to get going.
25:41 --> 25:43 [SPEAKER_00]: It's only Cal Raleigh.
25:43 --> 25:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody else has been hitting.
25:45 --> 25:49 [SPEAKER_00]: And yet with that, they're still not scoring runs, and they're still not scoring with guys on base.
25:49 --> 25:52 [SPEAKER_00]: And as a result, they're still under 500.
25:52 --> 25:56 [SPEAKER_02]: to the only team the Padres are better than OPS-wise or the Mets.
25:58 --> 26:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Would you know that watching this series this weekend?
26:01 --> 26:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Hell no, dude.
26:03 --> 26:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, this has been a bad Padres offense.
26:05 --> 26:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Their two stars are not hitting.
26:06 --> 26:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Tatis Machado.
26:08 --> 26:09 [SPEAKER_00]: And yet they're still winning games.
26:09 --> 26:11 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners are hitting, and they're not winning games.
26:16 --> 26:18 [SPEAKER_02]: I was gonna say, I don't know what to do, but I do know what the mariners need to do.
26:19 --> 26:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Like this is the point where the injuries, I think are really catching up to everybody.
26:25 --> 26:32 [SPEAKER_02]: It's a combination of injuries, bullpen, line up, combine with underperformance rotation for this team.
26:33 --> 26:36 [SPEAKER_02]: And they've been unable to fight to end and mix in bad decisions.
26:36 --> 26:38 [SPEAKER_02]: In bad decisions, yep, which there were more this weekend.
26:39 --> 26:42 [SPEAKER_02]: There was a trip for bad decisions.
26:42 --> 26:43 [SPEAKER_00]: It was all over the place.
26:43 --> 26:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Which, by the way,
26:44 --> 26:48 [SPEAKER_00]: If we're going to talk about the managerial side of things, it's weird.
26:48 --> 26:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I heard that Brendan Donovan was taken out for precautionary reasons this weekend, and he had a chance to be available off the bench today.
26:55 --> 26:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, it turns out he's like out for a month, month plus.
26:59 --> 27:00 [SPEAKER_00]: But it's fine.
27:00 --> 27:01 [SPEAKER_00]: He was available off the bench today.
27:01 --> 27:01 [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.
27:02 --> 27:04 [SPEAKER_00]: It was precautionary that they took him out the other day.
27:04 --> 27:07 [SPEAKER_02]: I had to come out like a whole time thing.
27:09 --> 27:15 [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine if you don't want to say exactly what the injury is, but it's clearly not for cautionary, not for ash.
27:15 --> 27:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it was for cautionary when he was taken out of the game.
27:17 --> 27:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, he spent three weeks on the IL.
27:19 --> 27:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's not for cautionary.
27:20 --> 27:21 [SPEAKER_02]: No.
27:21 --> 27:23 [SPEAKER_00]: This is clearly not for cautionary with Brendan Donovan.
27:23 --> 27:25 [SPEAKER_00]: He is going to miss significant time.
27:26 --> 27:53 [SPEAKER_02]: How about the how about the like the dichotomy of decisions for people were uh... mad on friday about some of the decisions which it's funny cuz dan went to his as regular playbook up pulling the lefty's out of line up early in the game only to have the righty's in the line up against the high leverage righty at the end of the game this is the only game were well night could look at each other and be like yeah i mean i don't know if it makes much of a difference because whether it's louc rayley or conner joe against uh... mason Miller
27:53 --> 27:57 [SPEAKER_02]: probably not not much of a difference because he's getting everyone out anyways.
27:57 --> 28:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I'm sorry guys, when Mason Miller gets up on the mound, you might as well turn around and go home.
28:02 --> 28:09 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, when like someone suggests to this to us as we're standing around on the concourse of the stadium is like guys, like Mitch Garver has two on.
28:09 --> 28:10 [SPEAKER_02]: There's nobody out.
28:10 --> 28:12 [SPEAKER_02]: Why doesn't he just blunt against Mason Miller?
28:13 --> 28:13 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, whoa.
28:14 --> 28:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.
28:15 --> 28:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm sorry, Freddie, Freddie, anybody listening on the audio side, the lights dimmed a little.
28:18 --> 28:23 [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, if you're on YouTube now, you're getting a real light show.
28:24 --> 28:31 [SPEAKER_02]: When your idea of scoring against a reliever is Mitch Garver, a sacrifice bonning, that's how you know the game's probably over.
28:31 --> 28:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
28:33 --> 28:34 [SPEAKER_02]: That's what it's like facing Mason Miller.
28:34 --> 28:39 [SPEAKER_00]: When do you actually think the last time was that Mitch Garver practiced a bunch?
28:40 --> 28:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, he was at New Mexico.
28:42 --> 28:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's go with that.
28:43 --> 29:07 [SPEAKER_00]: But most realistic he is not, but he's not budding and even if he was like you're not scoring on Mason Miller again Mason Miller is the signal for a team to wave their white flag and give up nobody scores on it nobody's nobody's got an extra base hit against them this year the only time he's given up a run this year was in one appearance He's like Dude if he keeps this up, you're talking about a Hall of Fame reliever he will don't score on him
29:09 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_02]: And we're going back to the decisions on Friday.
29:11 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_02]: That was the one time where it's probably okay to pinch it your guys early in the game, just so they don't have to face Mason Miller.
29:19 --> 29:26 [SPEAKER_02]: Because I think as we've learned our lesson this season, it doesn't matter who's facing Mason Miller, it's a bad matchup no matter what, and you're probably not winning.
29:27 --> 29:28 [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, fine.
29:28 --> 29:40 [SPEAKER_02]: Then there's Saturday where many actor was the one making the bullpen decisions because Dan got kicked out of the game early on we saw a number of things number one a thing that stood out
29:41 --> 29:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Luke Rayley faced Adrian Moroone kind of like we had wished for earlier in the season to keep him in in a higher leveraged Higher lever jet bad against I forget if it was Miller or if it's Jason Adam late in that game in San Diego I wanted him to like the idea would have been for him to I think face Adam later.
29:57 --> 30:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and he didn't end up facing Adam But this time I believe it was in the eighth inning on Saturday that Luke Rayley stays in the game
30:05 --> 30:07 [SPEAKER_02]: against Adrian Morahon.
30:08 --> 30:15 [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, you knew you knew damn well Mason Miller was unavailable on Saturday because he threw 34 pitches on Friday.
30:16 --> 30:18 [SPEAKER_00]: He was not pitching and by the way, he didn't throw the rest of the series.
30:19 --> 30:26 [SPEAKER_00]: So in the eighth inning, you leave Rayleigh in against the maybe the nastiest lefty in Major League Baseball and of course it doesn't go well.
30:26 --> 30:34 [SPEAKER_02]: I think the only defense of that is I believe the only other option off the bench would have been Mitch Garver who got scratched.
30:35 --> 30:39 [SPEAKER_02]: So maybe they were out of options and they had to do it regardless.
30:39 --> 30:44 [SPEAKER_02]: The fact that it had gotten to Luke Rayley in that situation against Morahone in the eighth inning was not good.
30:44 --> 30:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, emptying out your bench so early is where you run into problems.
30:48 --> 30:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Where again, you've got to save a righty for that scenario.
30:50 --> 30:53 [SPEAKER_00]: where Rayleigh is not facing more on.
30:53 --> 30:58 [SPEAKER_00]: I know Rayleigh's been your best offensive player in a lot of ways this year, you guys, but that is because they're using him right.
30:58 --> 31:01 [SPEAKER_00]: They're using him as a stricletoon to hit righties.
31:01 --> 31:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Believe me, if you let Luke Rayleigh take every abat against the lefty, his numbers would not be what the back of his baseball card currently say.
31:08 --> 31:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they look a lot different.
31:10 --> 31:21 [SPEAKER_02]: The other baffling thing I saw on Saturday was Logan Gilbert had given up five runs through five innings and he was at like 90 pitches.
31:21 --> 31:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I know he went into the seventh and he went into the seventh.
31:25 --> 31:36 [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so he had given up five runs in six innings nearing a hundred pitches and many sends him back out there giving up five runs only for Logan Gilbert to give up back to back home runs again.
31:36 --> 31:38 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm knocked out of the game in the seventh inning.
31:38 --> 31:41 [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, at this point in the game, I mean, it is five, two.
31:41 --> 31:45 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not looking amazing, but they had started to crawl the way back into it a little bit.
31:46 --> 31:51 [SPEAKER_00]: And Logan Gilbert is back out there in the seventh after giving up five through six, and he gets teed off on for another homework.
31:52 --> 31:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we've seen that in years.
31:56 --> 31:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, here's what happens when the act has to make the decision.
31:59 --> 32:02 [SPEAKER_02]: Like Scott didn't do that, Dan didn't do that.
32:02 --> 32:06 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't even have Lloyd did that.
32:06 --> 32:07 [SPEAKER_02]: Five runs.
32:07 --> 32:09 [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, all right, man, you're gone.
32:09 --> 32:10 [SPEAKER_00]: It ain't your day.
32:10 --> 32:11 [SPEAKER_00]: No, it ain't your day.
32:12 --> 32:14 [SPEAKER_00]: That was, that was something else.
32:14 --> 32:16 [SPEAKER_02]: Watching many act to manage a game.
32:17 --> 32:19 [SPEAKER_02]: It was almost like the polar opposite of Dan Wilson.
32:20 --> 32:22 [SPEAKER_00]: in what way and elaborate on that.
32:22 --> 32:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe even just like in a decision-making thing, I mean, leaving Logan out there too long instead of pulling them for a bullpen arm and the pinching decisions.
32:32 --> 32:40 [SPEAKER_02]: It kind of, the sample innings we got looked exactly different for what everyone bitches and complaints about this season.
32:40 --> 32:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Because he literally did nothing.
32:41 --> 32:44 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, just let all your guys stay and leave him.
32:44 --> 32:44 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.
32:45 --> 32:45 [SPEAKER_02]: And the mayor still lost.
32:46 --> 32:46 [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
32:47 --> 32:49 [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, isn't this a troubling trend, Lyle?
32:49 --> 32:53 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners have now played a pretty good team in the San Diego Padres six times.
32:53 --> 32:55 [SPEAKER_02]: And they've lost all six games.
32:55 --> 32:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's a terrible trend.
32:56 --> 33:00 [SPEAKER_02]: And this is supposed to be like a good team.
33:00 --> 33:01 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, right, T's.
33:01 --> 33:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Look at the Yankees, too.
33:02 --> 33:03 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
33:03 --> 33:04 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean the Yankees don't the same thing.
33:04 --> 33:06 [SPEAKER_02]: They played good teams and they've lost almost all.
33:06 --> 33:08 [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm talking about playing the Yankees.
33:08 --> 33:10 [SPEAKER_00]: The Mariners played the Yankees didn't go well.
33:10 --> 33:12 [SPEAKER_00]: They played the Padres didn't go well.
33:13 --> 33:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Isn't this team supposed to have world series expectations?
33:17 --> 33:20 [SPEAKER_00]: These are the type of teams you have to take care of.
33:20 --> 33:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Can I be something you lost every game to the Padres?
33:24 --> 33:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Every single game.
33:25 --> 33:28 [SPEAKER_02]: I want to let me something, I want to tell the Seattle Mariners something.
33:28 --> 33:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Whoever decides on these type of things, I hope they hear this, because we're now two for two on this happening.
33:36 --> 33:52 [SPEAKER_02]: When the Seattle Mariners, official Mariners, whether it be the players, whether it be the organization itself, ever mentioned the world, world series, before the season starts, the season starts off really bad.
33:52 --> 33:55 [SPEAKER_02]: Why don't, let's put it on pause, please.
33:57 --> 34:07 [SPEAKER_02]: You mean like when they did the intro video to start the year that said, to win it all with two under slashes on it and they left it as their pinned tweet for a long time.
34:07 --> 34:13 [SPEAKER_02]: Like four months and then people kept replying to the Twitter like guys take this down.
34:13 --> 34:15 [SPEAKER_02]: And they missed the playoffs that year.
34:15 --> 34:19 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners have done more World Series talking.
34:20 --> 34:24 [SPEAKER_02]: before this season and during the early parts of the season, then we've ever heard before.
34:26 --> 34:28 [SPEAKER_02]: And now they're 22 and 26 on May 17.
34:29 --> 34:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we, maybe we cruel on the World Series expectation.
34:32 --> 34:37 [SPEAKER_02]: And maybe this is maybe being a dumb fan, being paranoid, thinking it's jinxing everything.
34:38 --> 34:39 [SPEAKER_02]: But I'll just say it's not working.
34:39 --> 34:40 [SPEAKER_02]: Again.
34:40 --> 34:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's 2015, three for three.
34:43 --> 34:45 [SPEAKER_02]: On the cover of Sports Illustrated.
34:45 --> 34:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Mariners this year, the Mariners win the World Series.
34:51 --> 34:52 [SPEAKER_00]: This would be a great social clamp.
34:52 --> 34:56 [SPEAKER_00]: I gotta tell you, it's like it's time to stop mentioning World Series for the start of the year.
34:56 --> 35:01 [SPEAKER_02]: In my lifetime, that's all that's happened and all they've done is miss out.
35:02 --> 35:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, this is what just drives me nuts.
35:04 --> 35:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I know we've said it a couple of times, you guys.
35:05 --> 35:06 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll continue to say it.
35:07 --> 35:11 [SPEAKER_00]: All it takes is two good weeks of Mariners baseball for them to take control of this division.
35:11 --> 35:17 [SPEAKER_00]: But we were not supposed to be talking about a team four games under 500 in the middle of May that has World Series expectation.
35:17 --> 35:19 [SPEAKER_00]: We're just not, we're just not.
35:19 --> 35:24 [SPEAKER_00]: And here we are doing it, because they are playing way under the expectation of where they're supposed to be.
35:24 --> 35:26 [SPEAKER_02]: What else should we talk about from this weekend?
35:26 --> 35:27 [SPEAKER_02]: Starting pitching?
35:28 --> 35:33 [SPEAKER_00]: do, they've taken a dip in terms of their totally R.A. 14th now in the leak.
35:33 --> 35:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, actually, he's probably worse under today.
35:35 --> 35:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Let's update it.
35:35 --> 35:38 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's entering Sunday, they were 14th.
35:38 --> 35:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Kirby did not have a good start here on Sunday.
35:41 --> 35:42 [SPEAKER_00]: That is a Louise problem.
35:42 --> 35:43 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'd say it's a Logan Gilbert problem.
35:43 --> 35:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Those are the two guys to really point to, because Wu, Emerson and Kirby have been pretty good.
35:48 --> 35:56 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners continue to sit 14th after today in team starting pitching ERA, which is wild because the bullpen
35:57 --> 35:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Not good.
35:57 --> 36:00 [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm all actually performance wise.
36:00 --> 36:01 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we'll propose relievers.
36:02 --> 36:04 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners for ERA rank.
36:05 --> 36:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Third and all of baseball.
36:06 --> 36:08 [SPEAKER_02]: That's actually crazy without Prash inspired.
36:08 --> 36:09 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
36:09 --> 36:14 [SPEAKER_02]: And without even the best version of Prash inspired when they've been healthy and and the best version of Moody.
36:15 --> 36:22 [SPEAKER_02]: So going into the season, you're to tell us, hey, guys, this rotation is going to rank 14th in ERA and the Bolpans going to rank there.
36:22 --> 36:23 [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, no.
36:24 --> 36:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, yeah, and you mentioned it's like we haven't even got the best version of Moonio Sider.
36:27 --> 36:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
36:28 --> 36:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Not at all.
36:29 --> 36:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Moonio's is still, you know, it's been better as a lay, but he's still working to get back to his best form.
36:33 --> 36:38 [SPEAKER_02]: The only two bullpins that are better are laying upraves and the Texas Rangers.
36:38 --> 36:42 [SPEAKER_02]: Now, I will say, uh, fit this little bit higher.
36:42 --> 36:44 [SPEAKER_02]: It's three, four, eight as opposed to three, eight.
36:44 --> 36:47 [SPEAKER_02]: Expected ERA is a run and a half higher.
36:48 --> 36:49 [SPEAKER_00]: by X-E-R-A, where do they rank?
36:49 --> 36:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Does it show you that?
36:50 --> 36:53 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, by X-E-R-A, the Mariners bullpen ranks.
36:55 --> 36:56 [SPEAKER_02]: Where's that?
36:56 --> 36:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, they're 25th.
36:57 --> 36:59 [SPEAKER_02]: Good Lord, they go from 3rd to 25th.
36:59 --> 37:01 [SPEAKER_02]: Huge difference.
37:01 --> 37:06 [SPEAKER_02]: And then if we're going to go by reliever war, which tries to calculate the total value, the Mariners are 13th.
37:07 --> 37:10 [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know what, I'd probably say the Mariners are about where their war total is.
37:11 --> 37:21 [SPEAKER_02]: You gotta find probably like a middle ground between an extreme number like a top 3 ERA or an extreme other way number in expected ERA were their 25th.
37:22 --> 37:27 [SPEAKER_02]: That's, but regardless, given the people pitching in the Mariners bullpen currently, you call that a win.
37:27 --> 37:28 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you do.
37:28 --> 37:37 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners starting rotation has all the names in the world to be pitching in the top five if not top three in all of baseball and their 14.
37:37 --> 37:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's not great.
37:39 --> 37:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I think they need a lot more out of Logan.
37:42 --> 37:55 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I would say that he had a lot more at Kirby 2, but he Kirby's been pretty good this season for the most part tonight was in great but overall for the season he hasn't He's been he's been pretty good Logan Gilbert this season though
37:57 --> 38:02 [SPEAKER_02]: It's been a struggle and we thought it was last weekend he was going to turn the corner.
38:02 --> 38:12 [SPEAKER_02]: He had a great start in Chicago and then the Padres lied him up and a lot of the same things we've seen from Logan Gilbert or starting a pop-pack out teams are hitting them hard.
38:12 --> 38:19 [SPEAKER_02]: He is working a little deeper into games but it's not coming with the effectiveness of not allowing runs.
38:20 --> 38:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe this would warrant a deeper dive on Wednesday's episode, or sometime down the road, because we've hit a lot of topics in this episode.
38:27 --> 38:29 [SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about cult.
38:29 --> 38:30 [SPEAKER_00]: We haven't talked about Donovan.
38:30 --> 38:32 [SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about the weekend as a whole.
38:33 --> 38:58 [SPEAKER_00]: But at some point we're probably going to need to really dive into Logan Gilbert here because here we are almost two months into the year and you hope after a full off season arrest for him he would get back to where he usually is and it's been a struggle for him again to work deep into games it's been a struggle for him to limit hard hit balls and you need that guy to be at the top of your rotation and he just hasn't been that level yet here in twenty twenty six
38:59 --> 39:04 [SPEAKER_02]: All the things we'd be concerned about 20th percentile and average eggs of velocity.
39:04 --> 39:09 [SPEAKER_02]: 11 percentile and hard-hit rate, 16th percentile and barrel rate.
39:09 --> 39:12 [SPEAKER_02]: Roe with the only things Logan is doing incredibly well this season.
39:12 --> 39:14 [SPEAKER_02]: He's limiting his walks.
39:14 --> 39:21 [SPEAKER_02]: and his extensions are really good, but that comes with the fact that Logan Gilbert is six foot six, not because, oh, Logan Gilbert is pitching really well.
39:21 --> 39:27 [SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise, I mean, some of the effectiveness on his other pitches has really, really taken a dip.
39:28 --> 39:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I think this might be worth diving into on another episode and diving into further, especially if this continues, but that is a little bit of a glimpse into Logan Gilbert season so far and why the Mariners need more from that guy because he is supposed to be
39:41 --> 39:41 [SPEAKER_00]: their ace.
39:42 --> 39:43 [SPEAKER_00]: He was the opening day starter.
39:43 --> 39:45 [SPEAKER_00]: They need him to be his best self.
39:45 --> 39:49 [SPEAKER_00]: And since he got injured last year, there's just been a lot of up and down.
39:50 --> 39:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
39:51 --> 39:51 [SPEAKER_02]: So, anything else?
39:52 --> 39:57 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they didn't give us much positive to talk about this weekend because of cult.
39:58 --> 40:00 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, besides cult, happy for cult.
40:00 --> 40:01 [SPEAKER_00]: fired up for Colt.
40:02 --> 40:03 [SPEAKER_00]: This is an awesome day from.
40:03 --> 40:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm guessing his family will actually get into town tomorrow and actually get to see him this week, which is cool.
40:07 --> 40:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they had enough time because it was a pretty fast turnaround from here on Sunday.
40:11 --> 40:12 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, man, that's about it.
40:13 --> 40:15 [SPEAKER_00]: They got boat race all weekend.
40:15 --> 40:18 [SPEAKER_00]: The boat race they show up on the Jumbo Tron in the sixth inning.
40:18 --> 40:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that was kind of indicative of the Mariners weekend.
40:21 --> 40:26 [SPEAKER_02]: And this is, this is comes back to your point after the Astros series where you said,
40:27 --> 40:31 [SPEAKER_02]: The Mariners 1, 3, 4, they had a winning road trip and I still don't feel good.
40:32 --> 40:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Here's why people.
40:33 --> 40:34 [SPEAKER_02]: Here's exactly why.
40:35 --> 40:39 [SPEAKER_02]: And unfortunately, we don't have much to point to that.
40:39 --> 40:42 [SPEAKER_02]: It's going to turn around immediately or anytime soon.
40:42 --> 40:49 [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, now that you've used your ace card or your Joker card on Colt Emerson, whatever you want to call it, out of that deck,
40:50 --> 40:53 [SPEAKER_00]: That was your big card to pull out of your deck.
40:53 --> 40:56 [SPEAKER_00]: This season in terms of augmenting your roster down in the minor leagues.
40:56 --> 40:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Now, what are they going to do?
40:58 --> 41:00 [SPEAKER_00]: They have one more ace card.
41:00 --> 41:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, maybe.
41:03 --> 41:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Tade Anderson, if he comes up this year, it means they're probably going to the playoffs and he's going to pitch out of the bullpen and there would be that ace card.
41:10 --> 41:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, it's like when our buddy Peter Apple came on with us,
41:13 --> 41:16 [SPEAKER_00]: He said, if Kate Anderson comes up, doesn't that mean something's gone wrong?
41:16 --> 41:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Because that means a starter got hurt to help the offense, man.
41:20 --> 41:21 [SPEAKER_00]: You had the cold Emerson card.
41:21 --> 41:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Now he's here.
41:22 --> 41:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't really know what's next from there.
41:24 --> 41:26 [SPEAKER_00]: You could call up Brennan Davis at some point.
41:26 --> 41:30 [SPEAKER_00]: But again, I don't think he's going to be some perfect solution.
41:30 --> 41:32 [SPEAKER_00]: And some guy that just turns the offense around.
41:32 --> 41:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a guy that might do a little bit of damage against left handed pitching.
41:36 --> 41:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is your group until the deadline.
41:40 --> 41:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is your group until the guys get healthy.
41:43 --> 41:47 [SPEAKER_02]: The team is different with a healthy bread and donovan and a healthy cow roll.
41:47 --> 41:54 [SPEAKER_02]: And the problem is, we can't sit here and promise those guys will be healthy those season based on the type of injuries.
41:54 --> 41:57 [SPEAKER_02]: They have suffered in the past and that they're currently suffering with.
41:57 --> 42:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Even if they are healthy from what we've seen now through two months, like, is this team good enough?
42:02 --> 42:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Are they good enough?
42:03 --> 42:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Without bread and donovan and without cow,
42:06 --> 42:15 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still gonna say yes, but not good enough for what to make the playoffs this seems good enough to make the playoffs in this American League sure I guess.
42:15 --> 42:27 [SPEAKER_02]: I mean they need like they need again They need three weeks of really good play, which they can get just get like three healthy turns through the rotation And Julio going thermonuclear bang three good weeks
42:28 --> 42:30 [SPEAKER_00]: but the ethnic to win the World Series.
42:30 --> 42:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, we're not talking about this team in 2026 making a playout.
42:33 --> 42:38 [SPEAKER_00]: You heard it from everybody from the players to the coaches, everybody's World Series, World Series, World Series.
42:39 --> 42:40 [SPEAKER_00]: When I say this, this team's good enough.
42:40 --> 42:43 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not talking about sneaking in as a wild card in 84 wins.
42:43 --> 42:44 [SPEAKER_00]: That's not what I mean.
42:44 --> 42:46 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean when I say they're good enough.
42:47 --> 42:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Are they?
42:47 --> 42:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, man.
42:48 --> 42:49 [SPEAKER_00]: I hope so.
42:50 --> 42:51 [SPEAKER_00]: And maybe I'm getting emotional.
42:52 --> 42:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Because we're seeing a lot of mediocre baseball right now.
42:55 --> 43:01 [SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's fair to ask the question here as they sit four games under 500 as you're listening to this on May the 18th.
43:01 --> 43:06 [SPEAKER_02]: This current 26 man version of the Mariners roster is not good enough to win the world series.
43:07 --> 43:07 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
43:07 --> 43:08 [SPEAKER_02]: There's the answer.
43:08 --> 43:09 [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not.
43:09 --> 43:18 [SPEAKER_02]: So that sucks to say on the optimistic side, this is not going to be the 26 man roster you finished the season with.
43:18 --> 43:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so the Mariners will go on from here on out.
43:22 --> 43:36 [SPEAKER_02]: And I hope they play better and cow will come back and Donovan will come back and Katie Anderson is going to make their pitching staff better at some point and Colt Emerson Hopefully doesn't perform like an over match 20 year old rookie and the Mariners play significantly better baseball from here on out.
43:36 --> 43:41 [SPEAKER_02]: But what we saw this weekend against a team that's actually been playing really well is not very encouraging not at all.
43:42 --> 43:42 [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not
43:43 --> 43:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Here's to it turning around.
43:45 --> 43:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they can win a series against the white socks at home, that'd be nice.
43:48 --> 43:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's hope so.
43:49 --> 43:50 [SPEAKER_00]: That would be awesome.
43:50 --> 43:52 [SPEAKER_02]: All right, series prediction for Jared Kelnick V2.
43:53 --> 44:03 [SPEAKER_00]: OK, at home in Seattle, like in his old stomping grounds, four for 10, two homers in crunch time and clutch situations.
44:04 --> 44:07 [SPEAKER_02]: See, I think it would be almost better if he had two homeruns in the same game.
44:08 --> 44:11 [SPEAKER_00]: And one of them's late as he anchors them to a win.
44:11 --> 44:13 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
44:13 --> 44:14 [SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
44:14 --> 44:17 [SPEAKER_02]: Is he going to get to face any of his old teammates?
44:17 --> 44:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Because like Logan won't be pitching.
44:19 --> 44:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everybody in the rotations is old teammate.
44:22 --> 44:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Kind of a curvy.
44:24 --> 44:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Um, they are.
44:25 --> 44:26 [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, fair point.
44:26 --> 44:28 [SPEAKER_02]: I was mostly thinking, Logan, but yeah, curvy was.
44:29 --> 44:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Bryce can do it was.
44:30 --> 44:31 [SPEAKER_02]: Emma Emerson?
44:31 --> 44:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, briefly, but yes.
44:33 --> 44:36 [SPEAKER_02]: It'll be broke his foot kicking a Gatorade cooler in.
44:36 --> 44:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Mr. Good chunk of time, but you know, it happens.
44:41 --> 44:42 [SPEAKER_00]: It does, it does happen.
44:42 --> 44:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's what I'm going to say.
44:43 --> 44:45 [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to hit a couple of home runs and Seattle this week.
44:45 --> 44:47 [SPEAKER_00]: He did hit his first home run of the season over the weekend.
44:48 --> 44:49 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he forged it.
44:49 --> 44:52 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I know he's, well, he's been back here.
44:52 --> 44:54 [SPEAKER_02]: But I know he's looking forward to coming back to Seattle.
44:54 --> 44:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
44:55 --> 44:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Of course he is.
44:56 --> 44:59 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, that's just about wraps up this edition of the Marine Lair pod.
