Lyle and TJ react to the promotion of Brandyn Garcia, and how he fits in the Mariners bullpen (1:30). They then discuss what it would take for the Mariners to acquire some of the biggest names from the Cleveland Guardians: Jose Ramirez (21:59), Steven Kwan (38:55), and Emmanuel Clase (51:01).

01:21 --> 01:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to let you do that again.
01:23 --> 01:24 [SPEAKER_01]: I think you said can graduate.
01:26 --> 01:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations, Milwaukee Brewers.
01:28 --> 01:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.
01:30 --> 01:30 [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
01:31 --> 01:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, there you go.
01:32 --> 01:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Congratulations, Milwaukee Brewers.
01:35 --> 01:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Jacob Mizorowski, we'd like to tip your cap on a seven and two thirds inning shot out with nineteen punchouts on the on the evening.
01:42 --> 01:45 [SPEAKER_00]: And the Mariners just, you know, just wasn't there day, just wasn't there day.
01:46 --> 01:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Nineteen strikeouts.
01:48 --> 01:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Do we think he smiled a little bit after the fact?
01:50 --> 01:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe just like the kind of nervous smirk.
01:55 --> 01:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he was smiling.
01:57 --> 01:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, Jacob is Rose.
01:58 --> 01:59 [SPEAKER_00]: You punched out nineteen guys.
01:59 --> 01:59 [SPEAKER_00]: You got a tip of your cap.
02:00 --> 02:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Of course he smiled.
02:02 --> 02:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Of course he was fired up.
02:04 --> 02:06 [SPEAKER_00]: He was all set locked and loaded ready to go.
02:08 --> 02:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Twelve wins in a row for the burrs at that point.
02:10 --> 02:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's pretty impressive.
02:12 --> 02:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
02:12 --> 02:17 [SPEAKER_01]: As they extend their lead for the best record in baseball, a team that they're bottom half of the lineup.
02:18 --> 02:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of playing the name game with as I was watching the game, kind of like the Houston Astros lineup.
02:23 --> 02:31 [SPEAKER_01]: I do find it kind of, you know, ironic looking at the Astros lineup at the end of that series and the Burrs lineup going into this series.
02:31 --> 02:35 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I don't know which lineup is more puzzling.
02:38 --> 02:43 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a little bit like the tigers in the sense of what the brewers are doing, who have the two best records in baseball.
02:43 --> 02:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Tigers line up.
02:44 --> 02:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Look, they had some all stars, but you get past the Riley greens of the world.
02:49 --> 02:52 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like it's a star studded lineup with a bunch of household names.
02:53 --> 02:56 [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of guys that have really stepped up into a row for the tigers this year.
02:56 --> 02:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, Zach McCintries and all star.
02:58 --> 03:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Spencer Turkelson's taking a huge step forward.
03:01 --> 03:24 [SPEAKER_00]: hobby or bias had a resurgence labor tour has had a resurgence and I go I know guys like hobby and labor more household names than the Isaac Collins and the Anthony Cyglars and the Joey Ortizas of the world but still like it's the same idea that you have just strung together a fundamentally sound baseball team that collectively is built on their pitching and it's one a lot of games as a result
03:25 --> 03:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I think we're planning to talk a little bit more about the Mariners pitching in a broad stroke on Friday, but I will note, I do think I know where the Mariners pitching magic went.
03:33 --> 03:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it went to the Brewers.
03:34 --> 03:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I think all of it went to the Brewers.
03:36 --> 03:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Did you know the lowest ERA in that rotation right now is Jose Cantono with a three four nine ERA?
03:41 --> 03:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's pretty good.
03:44 --> 03:46 [SPEAKER_01]: That's where all the good magic went.
03:46 --> 03:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, George Kirby here on Monday managed to go five and a third no hit innings and still ended up not recording a quality start.
03:54 --> 03:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, it's impressive.
03:57 --> 03:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Not in a good way.
03:58 --> 04:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, for those listening, we are recording Monday night after the game.
04:03 --> 04:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Will Jacob miss it right there let me rephrase how close will Jacob miss orowski be to a seven and two thirds inning shut out nineteen punch out performance well we're going to find out when the episode comes out Wednesday we'll see how close we get
04:15 --> 04:16 [SPEAKER_01]: It's quite a prediction.
04:17 --> 04:19 [SPEAKER_01]: We do have something positive to talk about from the game tonight.
04:20 --> 04:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Not the result.
04:21 --> 04:23 [SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing positive about a six nothing loss at home.
04:24 --> 04:26 [SPEAKER_01]: But Brandon Garcia makes his debut here on Monday.
04:26 --> 04:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Pitches in that game was a little bit out of hand at that point.
04:29 --> 04:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Got some jitters out.
04:30 --> 04:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't the best outing overall for him.
04:32 --> 04:35 [SPEAKER_01]: But it was incredibly exciting to see him at the ballpark today.
04:35 --> 04:36 [SPEAKER_01]: His his
04:37 --> 04:40 [SPEAKER_01]: The first couple of calls he was talking about, I mean, it called it was mom and it's sister.
04:41 --> 04:42 [SPEAKER_01]: He called Logan Evans right after that.
04:43 --> 04:45 [SPEAKER_01]: They're both friends of the podcast.
04:45 --> 04:47 [SPEAKER_01]: As you guys know, they are really, really good friends.
04:47 --> 04:49 [SPEAKER_01]: They've been roommates throughout the minor leagues.
04:49 --> 04:52 [SPEAKER_01]: And now they get to play together on the field today.
04:52 --> 04:54 [SPEAKER_01]: It's very exciting to see him up there.
04:54 --> 04:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's start with the human side of this and how cool this is.
04:58 --> 04:58 [SPEAKER_00]: sick.
04:59 --> 05:02 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we could sit here and say, how long have we been rooting for this?
05:02 --> 05:04 [SPEAKER_00]: But again, it's not about us.
05:04 --> 05:05 [SPEAKER_00]: It's about BG.
05:05 --> 05:07 [SPEAKER_00]: It's about Brandon and the dude earned it.
05:08 --> 05:13 [SPEAKER_00]: And you could see it today and just, you know, him taking it all in is first day in the show.
05:14 --> 05:20 [SPEAKER_00]: So if you remember for anybody that remembers when Brandon was on the pod with us, he talked about how
05:21 --> 05:27 [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't want to physically step foot in the city of Seattle until he was called up to the show.
05:27 --> 05:29 [SPEAKER_00]: He was essentially waiting for it.
05:29 --> 05:32 [SPEAKER_00]: He essentially said, I have to earn being in that city.
05:32 --> 05:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I have to earn the right to walk around that city.
05:34 --> 05:40 [SPEAKER_00]: He said, I didn't want to casually be around the city of Seattle and hang out there all the time on off days.
05:41 --> 05:44 [SPEAKER_00]: even though he was playing not too far away, both in Everett and Tacoma.
05:44 --> 05:55 [SPEAKER_00]: He said, no, I'm, I don't really want to go into the city of Seattle until I get to the show, which was a goal of, which is, you know, kind of a little bit of personal motivation for how to get there even faster.
05:56 --> 05:59 [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought that was a really cool mindset to have.
05:59 --> 06:06 [SPEAKER_00]: You don't hear that all the time of guys saying that like, yeah, I'm not even going to step foot in the city as a way of self motivation.
06:06 --> 06:08 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, the human side of this is
06:09 --> 06:27 [SPEAKER_00]: that and paired with he was in eleven throuder at a Texas A&M that like Logan didn't have other worldly numbers in college but has ridiculous stuff to fight a bunch of odds has shot his way through the minors and now is here in the show before I wrap this up let me just say
06:29 --> 06:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Do not send us comments about the fact he had one outing where he gave up a run and okay made it throwing her to stay but guess what guys that game was already over like he got his he got his like shaky outing out of the way in a perfect time when the managers weren't going to score any runs anyway
06:47 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Brandon Garcia is here for the long run.
06:49 --> 06:55 [SPEAKER_00]: If you were to ask the two of us and he has got a chance to be dynamite at the back end of this bullpen and use it a variety of ways.
06:55 --> 06:59 [SPEAKER_00]: So don't sit there and mull over the first outing of his career.
06:59 --> 07:00 [SPEAKER_00]: That's not fair to anybody.
07:00 --> 07:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Look at what Brandon Garcia is here for and what he's earned himself the role of.
07:05 --> 07:09 [SPEAKER_00]: And it's to be here and be an absolute stud at lefty with a dynamite sinker and slider.
07:09 --> 07:22 [SPEAKER_00]: So to see him earn his way up to the show, and then get to take it all in today, and you could see it was a guy that was very much soaking in his first few hours in the show was super cool.
07:22 --> 07:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Like Dave Hughes, or some of the coolest days of a guy's career, and just to see it here on Monday, yeah, it was awesome.
07:31 --> 07:38 [SPEAKER_01]: I remember we brought this up in his interview, and I asked him this question, but I want to just bring it back up here in case many, many people forgot.
07:38 --> 07:44 [SPEAKER_01]: You just have to tip your cap to how hard Brandon had to work to get to this point and get to the big leagues.
07:45 --> 07:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, let me ask you this question.
07:46 --> 07:59 [SPEAKER_01]: If I were to take his name out of this, and I would take everything that happened after the fact and allow an hour to sit here, and I was going to read to you, that there was a picture pitching at Quinnipiac at the end of the twenty twenty two season, had a seven one five ERA.
08:01 --> 08:01 [SPEAKER_01]: at Quinnipiac.
08:02 --> 08:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Three years later is in Major League Baseball.
08:07 --> 08:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Like you would say, no, no, that does not happen.
08:10 --> 08:11 [SPEAKER_01]: That would not happen.
08:12 --> 08:17 [SPEAKER_01]: And yet Brandon made that possible because he worked his tail off when he got into the Mariners Mariners system.
08:17 --> 08:18 [SPEAKER_01]: They tweaked some things.
08:20 --> 08:21 [SPEAKER_01]: They utilized his strengths.
08:21 --> 08:23 [SPEAKER_01]: He wins co-moderly pitcher of the year last year.
08:24 --> 08:26 [SPEAKER_01]: He adjusts himself this year.
08:26 --> 08:28 [SPEAKER_01]: They said, hey, we need you in the bullpen.
08:28 --> 08:31 [SPEAKER_01]: He starts throwing out of the bullpen like he did a lot of the time in college.
08:32 --> 08:33 [SPEAKER_01]: His stuff played up.
08:33 --> 08:35 [SPEAKER_01]: And now he gets rewarded by being in the big leagues.
08:35 --> 08:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it really does show guys.
08:37 --> 08:39 [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter what your profession is.
08:39 --> 08:39 [SPEAKER_01]: It can be baseball.
08:39 --> 08:40 [SPEAKER_01]: It can be really whatever.
08:41 --> 08:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's possible.
08:43 --> 08:45 [SPEAKER_01]: You can turn things around no matter what.
08:45 --> 08:47 [SPEAKER_01]: It's, it is one of the incredible stories.
08:47 --> 08:56 [SPEAKER_01]: They mentioned it on the broadcast today too that, you know, it, like, it's always possible to, to tweak some things and, and turn things around for you.
08:56 --> 08:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Seven, one, five, ERA.
08:58 --> 08:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Seven, one, five, ERA.
08:59 --> 09:01 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's not even in the McLeod.
09:01 --> 09:02 [SPEAKER_01]: It's in the MAAC.
09:04 --> 09:13 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll drop this line because I'm pretty sure Brandon would laugh and just and also have some like very full circle picture of how far he's come.
09:14 --> 09:18 [SPEAKER_00]: If you were to tell me somebody from Quinnipiac had a seven one five ERA in twenty twenty two.
09:18 --> 09:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I would probably be saying get ready to learn Wall Street buddy.
09:23 --> 09:24 [SPEAKER_00]: But
09:24 --> 09:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, look at how much he's overcome in that time to turn himself into not just being a guy that made the big leagues and got his way to the mountaintop.
09:34 --> 09:38 [SPEAKER_00]: But the guy that's expected to beat here and seriously have a role on this team.
09:38 --> 09:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I know we've seen the Mariners make a lot of bullpen moves this year.
09:41 --> 09:46 [SPEAKER_00]: This is not that if you're asking me and I think if you're asking TJ.
09:47 --> 10:06 [SPEAKER_00]: And I think if you're asking a lot of people, I think Brandon Garcia is here for what should be the long haul and given any implosion over a prolonged period of time is going to be here to be in a role where the Mariners seriously elevate this bullpen to a point where it has another potential leverage arm with big time stuff.
10:07 --> 10:08 [SPEAKER_01]: So let's talk about that role.
10:08 --> 10:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see how how is this going to benefit the Mariners bullpen right now?
10:11 --> 10:21 [SPEAKER_01]: And before I talk about like what the Mariners bullpen like where the sort of weaknesses of that bullpen is, what Brandon brings is I would say a pretty good reliever profile.
10:21 --> 10:22 [SPEAKER_01]: There are things
10:22 --> 10:48 [SPEAKER_01]: that we talk about that you want with most pitchers relievers especially where you got to be a little bit different I think BG is a little bit different he's tall he throws from a lower arm slot which already gives him someone to have an advantage against lefties and you could probably sell yourself that it's an advantage against righties as well if you play your cards right in your pitch mix is correct as well but since he throws a sinker he keeps the ball on the ground a lot he still manages to generate some swing a miss
10:49 --> 10:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, and the sweeper again has been really good.
10:51 --> 10:54 [SPEAKER_01]: That was one of the things they wanted him to work on down in the minor leagues.
10:55 --> 11:05 [SPEAKER_01]: So once he gets all those things working, what he does bring to the bullpen when you combine swinging mess and you combine ground balls, something that the Mariners bullpen hasn't had quite enough of this year overall.
11:06 --> 11:07 [SPEAKER_01]: That is a positive in it, but itself.
11:08 --> 11:14 [SPEAKER_01]: The other thing is the Mariners haven't had another reliable lefty outside of Gabe Spire sense.
11:16 --> 11:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Sauce in twenty three.
11:17 --> 11:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
11:18 --> 11:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
11:19 --> 11:19 [SPEAKER_01]: So sauce.
11:19 --> 11:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
11:19 --> 11:20 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a good.
11:20 --> 11:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
11:20 --> 11:23 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a somehow I forgot Taylor sauce.
11:23 --> 11:24 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, what about what?
11:24 --> 11:26 [SPEAKER_01]: What about someone besides Taylor sauce?
11:26 --> 11:26 [SPEAKER_01]: You know,
11:28 --> 11:29 [SPEAKER_00]: You get past him.
11:29 --> 11:30 [SPEAKER_00]: It has been a long time.
11:30 --> 11:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, twenty twenty two.
11:32 --> 11:40 [SPEAKER_00]: That bullpen did not have a lefty unless you count the few innings that map away through toward the end of the year after they traded for them and threw one or two in the playoffs.
11:40 --> 11:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Him.
11:41 --> 11:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Twenty twenty one same idea.
11:43 --> 11:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the studs of that bullpen were sticking riders.
11:46 --> 11:47 [SPEAKER_00]: See walled Casey Sadler.
11:47 --> 11:49 [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to throw Eric Swanson into that.
11:50 --> 11:51 [SPEAKER_00]: And then you get past that.
11:52 --> 11:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the answer to the question.
11:53 --> 11:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
11:53 --> 11:55 [SPEAKER_01]: It's twenty twenty nest or Cortez.
11:55 --> 11:55 [SPEAKER_01]: How can I forget?
11:56 --> 11:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, nasty, Nester.
11:59 --> 12:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Good Lord.
12:00 --> 12:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the only reason people would have been calling him nasty Nester in twenty twenty is because they couldn't stand to watch the sight of him pitching for the Mariners.
12:09 --> 12:11 [SPEAKER_00]: That was what was nasty about Nester back then.
12:12 --> 12:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
12:12 --> 12:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, it was more except Chinsky, which is he's not quite on a total level for me, but
12:21 --> 12:23 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not that, it's not that far.
12:23 --> 12:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Besides that, I mean, we're going back to our guy Charlie Ferber's probably.
12:27 --> 12:29 [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I was about to say.
12:29 --> 12:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it ten years ago.
12:30 --> 12:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I think it is our guy Charlie, and that is a long time.
12:35 --> 12:41 [SPEAKER_00]: So you have in ten years Gabe Spire and not that many other reliable lefties over the course of the last decade.
12:41 --> 12:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, right in Garcia has a chance to be that.
12:45 --> 12:48 [SPEAKER_00]: And look, Gabe Spire has been unbelievable.
12:49 --> 12:55 [SPEAKER_00]: But in terms of the pure stuff, I mean, I think it's fair to say the pure stuff from Brandon is ahead of where Gabe is.
12:56 --> 12:57 [SPEAKER_00]: It's just gonna be about, isn't it?
12:58 --> 12:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, just the pure like, no?
12:59 --> 12:59 [SPEAKER_00]: No.
12:59 --> 13:00 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
13:04 --> 13:07 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's got like a, what's Gabe strikeout right out right now?
13:07 --> 13:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, again, so you get into the, again, we're now you're getting into efficiency, you're getting into command, you're getting into spotting up your pitches.
13:15 --> 13:15 [SPEAKER_00]: That's different.
13:16 --> 13:20 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about the pure ninety nine with the crazy sweeper that Brandon has.
13:21 --> 13:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess, but you can throw, you can throw ninety nine and it's not as good as a different ninety six that gets insane swing and miss.
13:32 --> 13:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think Gabe usually sits more like, ninety three, ninety four.
13:34 --> 13:35 [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm getting at.
13:35 --> 13:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, like, this is a dumb argument because again, Gabe's fire has been very good.
13:40 --> 13:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Gabe's fire has been insanely good this year.
13:42 --> 13:55 [SPEAKER_00]: The only point I'm trying to make is branding our sea of the upside is very high because this your Velo of the fastball, the bowling ball sink that it has, and then you mix in the slider that's pretty much a wipe out pitch.
13:56 --> 13:58 [SPEAKER_00]: That is the potential for a back end reliever.
13:58 --> 14:00 [SPEAKER_00]: That's what a back end reliever looks like.
14:00 --> 14:02 [SPEAKER_01]: That I will agree with, yes, all of that.
14:03 --> 14:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
14:04 --> 14:06 [SPEAKER_01]: But in terms of, like, sorry, go ahead.
14:07 --> 14:07 [SPEAKER_01]: No, go.
14:08 --> 14:14 [SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, in terms of, yeah, what you want out of a reliever, yes, like that, that is it right there.
14:15 --> 14:23 [SPEAKER_01]: The other positive side of this, I would say, Lyle is that if you just think about, like, so let's look at the transaction that put him in the big leagues, they sent Juan Burgos back down to the miners and they
14:24 --> 14:24 [SPEAKER_01]: brought Brandon up.
14:25 --> 14:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Juan Burgos was pitching once every seven days in that Mariners bullpen.
14:29 --> 14:35 [SPEAKER_01]: He was just essentially holding a roster spot until they wanted someone else to come up and perform in that bullpen.
14:36 --> 14:39 [SPEAKER_01]: And that last spot in the Mariners bullpen hasn't been used all that much this year.
14:39 --> 14:47 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners, I would say for the most part, it's felt like they've mostly run with seven guys in the bullpen, even though they have eight spots for it.
14:48 --> 14:49 [SPEAKER_01]: I hope Brandon, even if
14:50 --> 14:57 [SPEAKER_01]: based on the service time argument, even if you think Brandon's a better reliever than some of these other relievers, which I certainly think so.
14:57 --> 15:03 [SPEAKER_01]: But let's say just based off of status and options available that brand is the eighth guy in this bullpen.
15:04 --> 15:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's certainly going to get used a lot more than Juan Burgos will.
15:07 --> 15:16 [SPEAKER_01]: And since he's a lefty and since he has this kind of stuff, it just offers your bullpen a little bit more versatility than having to force some of the guys that have struggled a lot this season.
15:16 --> 15:18 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's been up and down this mayor's bullpen.
15:19 --> 15:21 [SPEAKER_01]: that guys have struggled.
15:21 --> 15:48 [SPEAKER_01]: For example, if you want to put, if you run through Brash and Munios and Gabe Spire on a game where you're ahead, and you're ahead the next day, but those guys are all tired and that you don't want to use them again, well, instead of going to Trent Thornton, now you have Brandon Garcia, and I think in fifteen appearances when Brandon gets his footing under him at the big league level, I think you feel a little bit more confident in Brandon, as opposed to Trent, who has put up numbers that have been among the worst in baseball this year.
15:49 --> 15:52 [SPEAKER_01]: It seems like a pretty easy argument to make there.
15:53 --> 15:58 [SPEAKER_00]: I would also present the argument that Brandon Garcia is not going to be the eighth guy in this rotation or in this bullpen very long.
15:59 --> 16:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Assuming everything goes according to how we think it's going to go.
16:02 --> 16:04 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure the Mariners believe it should go.
16:04 --> 16:06 [SPEAKER_00]: He ain't going to be the eighth guy in this bullpen very long.
16:06 --> 16:15 [SPEAKER_00]: And what I mean by that is he is going to get he is going to begin to get used in situations that require much more
16:16 --> 16:21 [SPEAKER_00]: attention and certainly much more execution than mop up duty in the eighth spot.
16:22 --> 16:32 [SPEAKER_00]: I think if things go according to plan and we're looking up on September the first, you may see Brandon pitching in situations where they need big outs.
16:33 --> 16:37 [SPEAKER_01]: I think ideally you put him by September, since he's a rookie right now.
16:38 --> 16:45 [SPEAKER_01]: I think ideally by September you want him pitching if things go well, you want him pitching the sixth and seventh inning with the lead.
16:46 --> 16:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Great.
16:46 --> 16:46 [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you want.
16:47 --> 16:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
16:48 --> 16:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Because hopefully by then, obviously, you still have your big three in Monio's Brash and Spire.
16:54 --> 16:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I really hope they add an additional stud bullpen piece by then, because that makes things even crazier.
17:00 --> 17:06 [SPEAKER_00]: And if Brandon Garcia does what people expect him to do, look at what this bullpen can be as you enter October.
17:06 --> 17:12 [SPEAKER_00]: It's what teams that run deep into post seasons have in their bullpen.
17:12 --> 17:13 [SPEAKER_00]: When you think about
17:14 --> 17:20 [SPEAKER_00]: the Astros bullpins when they've been really good or the Philly's bullpins when they've been really good or teams like that.
17:20 --> 17:27 [SPEAKER_00]: They have stud after stud after stud after stud that just have nasty stuff that is borderline unhittable.
17:27 --> 17:38 [SPEAKER_00]: And if you get to that point in time, if you get to September, if you get into the postseason and like you said, you have Muñoz Brash inspired in some order and then you also have another stud arm.
17:38 --> 17:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully it's somebody like yo on to ran or somebody.
17:42 --> 17:43 [SPEAKER_00]: And then you have Brandon Garcia as well.
17:44 --> 17:47 [SPEAKER_00]: You really open up options for what you can do.
17:47 --> 17:54 [SPEAKER_00]: So yes, in that situation, you certainly hope Brandon is pitching the sixth or the seventh inning in some role with a lead.
17:55 --> 18:00 [SPEAKER_00]: And if you have that many options in your bullpen with that many studs, then you can pocket him to face a lot of lefties at points, too.
18:01 --> 18:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Having a second set of high lever darms is never a bad thing in this case, and it allows the Mariners when their starters struggle, which has been a significantly more common occurrence.
18:11 --> 18:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately this season, you can be more aggressive taking them out of the game and using the matchups with your bullpen as you get down the stretch.
18:18 --> 18:46 [SPEAKER_01]: where like you said if there's a lefty pocket you can put branded in there or if there's a righty pocket and let's hypothetically say to ran or perhaps maybe the guy we're going to talk about in this episode you have a pocket of righties to go after instead and make that work should be great again please you guys remember how we ask people please do not beg coal young to save the offense when he comes up to the show we said don't put that pressure on him because it's not fair
18:47 --> 18:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm gonna ask you to do something similar here with Brandon Garcia, but in a little bit of a different tone.
18:54 --> 18:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Do not watch his one outing in his debut.
18:57 --> 18:59 [SPEAKER_00]: And send us comments, please, let's say, well,
19:01 --> 19:02 [SPEAKER_00]: He's not gonna be any good, send him down.
19:03 --> 19:12 [SPEAKER_00]: No, again, I know most of you aren't gonna do that, but what's sad is we do get comments and DMs like that after one outing, saying things like send a person down.
19:12 --> 19:17 [SPEAKER_00]: No, he's really good, you guys, give him a little time to adjust to the big leagues.
19:17 --> 19:26 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's even more important for relievers because he could have thirteen great outings and two bad ones and he'll, his ERA will sit at four and people will say, nope, not good enough.
19:28 --> 19:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Even though you would take thirteen of fifteen good outings.
19:31 --> 19:32 [SPEAKER_00]: No, bread and Garcia is going to be really good.
19:33 --> 19:34 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm excited he's here.
19:35 --> 19:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited he's going to be here for the stretch run and as somebody that
19:42 --> 19:49 [SPEAKER_00]: And somebody that's one of our guys, certainly one of our guys on this pod, the two of us are very, very fired up for him.
19:49 --> 19:56 [SPEAKER_00]: And you know what I could tell was fired up for him today was Logan, because we were talking a Logan today beforehand too.
19:56 --> 19:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Like he walks up to us.
19:58 --> 20:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously, and he knows Brandon's been on the pod, and he knows that like him, we've gotten no Brandon over the last year or two.
20:07 --> 20:08 [SPEAKER_00]: And he walks right up to us.
20:09 --> 20:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And first thing he says here on Monday is, how about BG?
20:12 --> 20:16 [SPEAKER_00]: And we're like, yes, dude, we're like, hell yeah, how about BG?
20:17 --> 20:17 [SPEAKER_00]: This is sick.
20:18 --> 20:28 [SPEAKER_00]: And if you want one little other peak behind the curtain, when we were talking to Brandon today, and obviously, you know, telling him congrats and how awesome this is and how fired up the two of us are for him.
20:29 --> 20:51 [SPEAKER_00]: We were talking about him and Logan now not just being here but being here together as eleven and twelve rounders just two years ago and the two of them like moving through the system and defying all these odds together and brand it was like this is what we talked about right after we got drafted he was like we're sitting in Arizona as eleven and twelve round picks and he said why not the two of us just get to the show together who says we can't do it
20:52 --> 21:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Clearly, they took that to heart and ran with it because both of them are here and both of them now have the now are now set to have a real role with this team.
21:02 --> 21:02 [SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty cool.
21:03 --> 21:07 [SPEAKER_01]: It is it is very cool that this very cool.
21:07 --> 21:11 [SPEAKER_01]: That's that's how it worked out because for most guys, it doesn't always get to work out that way.
21:11 --> 21:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Like it does there is like the hard work those two put in to get to this moment.
21:17 --> 21:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Like cannot be overstated, but sometimes like
21:23 --> 21:35 [SPEAKER_01]: things just work out like you do need to get a little lucky for something like that to happen and it feels amazing when stuff like that does happen and I hope both of them are on this roster for a long time with a lot of success so they can celebrate it together.
21:35 --> 21:40 [SPEAKER_01]: It's good that the two of them as good a friends as they are now get to be on the same roster again, which is really fun.
21:41 --> 21:45 [SPEAKER_00]: And, and, and selfishly, we hope the two of them are together on this roster very long time.
21:45 --> 21:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
21:46 --> 21:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, I mean, like, first and foremost, the most important thing is we hope they're here on this roster because both of them are really good and can help this team win baseball games.
21:55 --> 21:59 [SPEAKER_00]: But also, like, the two of us are very selfishly fired up that they're both here together because that's sick.
21:59 --> 22:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a hundred percent.
22:01 --> 22:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
22:01 --> 22:02 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
22:02 --> 22:08 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we're going to talk about some pretty fun trade names today as we're approaching the deadline before that.
22:08 --> 22:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's take a little bit of a pause.
22:10 --> 22:12 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk to you guys about our friends over at Pagaches Povey.
22:12 --> 22:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Five.
22:14 --> 22:16 [SPEAKER_00]: You know games are getting intense here down the stretch.
22:16 --> 22:17 [SPEAKER_00]: You guys know that
22:17 --> 22:21 [SPEAKER_00]: You can't take your eyes off the team these days and you're watching all the games as we enter the end of July.
22:21 --> 22:25 [SPEAKER_00]: So why don't you plan a time to hang out with your friends and watch the game all together?
22:25 --> 22:27 [SPEAKER_00]: You can head over there over to pub eighty five.
22:27 --> 22:28 [SPEAKER_00]: It's an awesome spot to hang out.
22:29 --> 22:30 [SPEAKER_00]: There's things like pool.
22:30 --> 22:30 [SPEAKER_00]: There's darts.
22:30 --> 22:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, there's twenty TVs in that place.
22:32 --> 22:39 [SPEAKER_00]: So there is going to be no shortage of Mariners baseball on on those in that restaurant and in that bar if you want to go watch the games, it's really fun.
22:39 --> 22:40 [SPEAKER_00]: And if you go during happy hour.
22:41 --> 22:47 [SPEAKER_00]: awesome drink specials you guys it's the re-inport dollar drinks Monday through Friday from two to six p.m.
22:47 --> 22:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Awesome deals those are hard deals to find anywhere else and it's a really cool spot to hang out.
22:51 --> 22:55 [SPEAKER_00]: So head over to Pagoch's Pubade E five in Kirkland.
22:55 --> 22:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Go check it out.
22:55 --> 22:56 [SPEAKER_00]: We certainly recommend it.
22:57 --> 23:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about some of these trade targets, Lyle, and we're taking a look at a team in the American League central today that was being a little bit more favorable to this discussion about a week ago before we went to Atlanta and we're like, all right, let's pocket this discussion to what we get back while plenty of time.
23:12 --> 23:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, this team has unfortunately won eight of ten games since and are making it a little bit tighter, but we're just talking about it anyways, because the Cleveland Guardians have been significantly underperforming this season.
23:22 --> 23:25 [SPEAKER_01]: And they're not overwhelmingly talented.
23:25 --> 23:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I think we could make the case for that last year as well.
23:27 --> 23:30 [SPEAKER_01]: They were just successful and they played in the same division as the White Sox.
23:30 --> 23:35 [SPEAKER_01]: So of course, that means they had to make the playoffs because they got all those free wins to get in the playoffs.
23:35 --> 23:37 [SPEAKER_01]: But this year, they're not playing as well.
23:37 --> 23:48 [SPEAKER_01]: And they have some players that I think teams would be interested in and that the guardians could massively repile a replenish their farm system with if they were to move them.
23:48 --> 23:50 [SPEAKER_01]: And we'll talk about a couple of those guys today.
23:51 --> 23:59 [SPEAKER_01]: The number one guy we're going to talk about because, of course, we're going to talk about him when any guardian becomes available is Jose Ramirez, Lyle.
24:01 --> 24:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Is this, is this pie in the sky right here?
24:04 --> 24:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
24:05 --> 24:06 [SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to talk about it anyway.
24:10 --> 24:13 [SPEAKER_01]: It works out for how Jose Ramirez is right now.
24:15 --> 24:17 [SPEAKER_01]: It's Ronald Acunia plus five years.
24:17 --> 24:25 [SPEAKER_01]: If you want some simple context on package costs and production, it is Ronald Acunia but five years older.
24:26 --> 24:26 [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's fair.
24:28 --> 24:32 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll take it a step further than that for his unbelievable player as Ronald Alcuni is.
24:33 --> 24:39 [SPEAKER_00]: He still has to stay on the field long term and prove that he's going to consistently do this year over year.
24:39 --> 24:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we know he can do it and we know when he's on the field.
24:42 --> 24:43 [SPEAKER_00]: He's one of the best players in baseball.
24:44 --> 24:47 [SPEAKER_00]: It's just he's dealt with some pretty unfortunate injuries early in his career.
24:48 --> 24:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Jose Ramirez is going to be a Hall of Famer.
24:51 --> 24:52 [SPEAKER_00]: We can just stamp that.
24:52 --> 24:54 [SPEAKER_00]: He is going to be a Hall of Famer.
24:54 --> 24:56 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's currently still playing like a Hall of Famer.
24:56 --> 24:57 [SPEAKER_00]: So he's still there.
24:57 --> 25:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say he's almost at sixty wins and he's not even thirty three yet.
25:02 --> 25:05 [SPEAKER_00]: All the more reason I say, he's going to Cooper's town.
25:06 --> 25:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the guy's going to hit over three hundred home runs for his career.
25:09 --> 25:10 [SPEAKER_00]: He might get closer to four hundred.
25:10 --> 25:13 [SPEAKER_00]: His career, OPS is eight, fifty, eight, like you said.
25:13 --> 25:17 [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be a seventy war guy when it's all said and done.
25:17 --> 25:18 [SPEAKER_00]: I would imagine at least.
25:19 --> 25:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is the Hall of Famer.
25:21 --> 25:25 [SPEAKER_00]: And for a Guardian's team that you say often lacks talent and his underperform this year.
25:26 --> 25:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's one guy that's a superstar on this team.
25:28 --> 25:30 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a guy that mans the hot corner.
25:30 --> 25:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you what.
25:32 --> 25:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Similar to Acunia, I would get real, real delusional about what I would give up to you get Jose Ramirez.
25:41 --> 25:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Let me frame it like this.
25:42 --> 25:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I only think the Guardians would trade him realistically if they were completely blowing up their roster.
25:48 --> 25:54 [SPEAKER_01]: If they were going to, they were going to aim to have the number one farm system in baseball by next year.
25:54 --> 25:56 [SPEAKER_01]: They would trade some of these other guys we're going to talk about.
25:57 --> 26:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Steven Kwan, by the way, was number two on Jeff Passen's top fifty trade targets in Major League Baseball today.
26:03 --> 26:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Just thought I would throw that one out there.
26:05 --> 26:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Another teammate of Jose Ramirez is.
26:08 --> 26:16 [SPEAKER_01]: If they trade anyone else away like maybe a manual class A or cage smith guys that would bring back massive prospect packages
26:17 --> 26:23 [SPEAKER_01]: then they would trade Jose Ramirez because right now, Jay Rana has three and a half seasons of control left.
26:24 --> 26:28 [SPEAKER_01]: He's owed about seventy five million dollars combined in that stretch.
26:29 --> 26:32 [SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty affordable for a Hall of Fame talent at that rate.
26:32 --> 26:42 [SPEAKER_01]: So you're really only moving a player like that if you're truly gonna blow it up and your focus is not gonna be on this year or next year, your focus is gonna be about three to four years from now.
26:43 --> 26:44 [SPEAKER_01]: That's the mindset the guardians would need to make.
26:45 --> 26:48 [SPEAKER_01]: It was a little easier to make earlier at this month.
26:49 --> 26:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, right now, the Guardians are still in the thick of the playoff race only three and a half games out.
26:54 --> 26:57 [SPEAKER_01]: But what would a trade look like here?
26:57 --> 26:58 [SPEAKER_01]: What would we think?
26:58 --> 27:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's, you want to know what I wrote down?
27:01 --> 27:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I wrote down, since Akuni was young, right?
27:04 --> 27:10 [SPEAKER_01]: You'd have to really go over the top as we talked about to go over there and get him.
27:10 --> 27:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Like a twenty-seven-year-old versus a thirty-two-year-old at still a big difference.
27:14 --> 27:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Even if one is a slam dunk, Hall of Fame, right now.
27:19 --> 27:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I said to start the floor would be the Akuni package we threw out.
27:25 --> 27:26 [SPEAKER_01]: but just the prospects.
27:28 --> 27:28 [SPEAKER_00]: That feels about right.
27:29 --> 27:38 [SPEAKER_00]: If the guardians were really trying to rebuild, I don't think it makes much sense for them to take on a few years of George Kirby.
27:38 --> 27:42 [SPEAKER_00]: You would want to push your timeline further back than that when they could not pay him.
27:43 --> 27:49 [SPEAKER_01]: And if you want an example of that, people were wondering if they were going to deal Shane Beaver because they didn't want to pay him, but then he got hurt.
27:49 --> 27:51 [SPEAKER_01]: So it kind of helped them out.
27:51 --> 27:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
27:52 --> 28:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So for those who don't remember, the Acunia package we floated out there, because it was out there on Twitter and Jage put it out there for those who don't know him.
28:00 --> 28:01 [SPEAKER_00]: He's he's on Mariners Twitter.
28:02 --> 28:14 [SPEAKER_00]: He's he does a lot of like written content and Twitter content at the Jage page if you're curious, but I'll just remind people he threw out the idea of the Acunia package being Kirby, Brash,
28:16 --> 28:19 [SPEAKER_00]: It was, I think, Colt, Emerson, Farmello, and Lazz, right?
28:20 --> 28:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Was that what it was?
28:20 --> 28:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was, that is exactly what it was.
28:23 --> 28:27 [SPEAKER_00]: So take out the big leaders and have it be prospects.
28:27 --> 28:44 [SPEAKER_00]: You were going to have to deal your blue chip prospects to get Jose Ramirez if he was really on the table, which, again, when players like that are on the table, and he is that much club control, and he's an expensive, and third base of the position of need, like, yes, of course.
28:46 --> 28:47 [SPEAKER_00]: We are talking pipe dream here.
28:48 --> 28:59 [SPEAKER_01]: We are talking pipe dream, but that is, that's why you build up the farm system to the way it is right now, where you trade those guys and then allow, we could check back in in a year and a half and filming Cellston's a top twenty prospect.
29:00 --> 29:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Like right into the hypothetical, so you dream on.
29:02 --> 29:06 [SPEAKER_01]: It's the same idea when people don't want to trade lads because they think of what he could be in the big leagues.
29:07 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, then you also do the same thing with the prospects that you still have in your system that you don't trade and you're looking at the upside and you can play with what if game on how that replenishes your farm system, not too long from now.
29:19 --> 29:28 [SPEAKER_01]: And the guys that you trade away can still go up and be successful and you can still end up having a strong farm system after it and a whole of Famer at their base.
29:30 --> 29:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think about it a year from now.
29:32 --> 29:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Like you said, filming could be a top-thirty prospect if it all clicks.
29:35 --> 29:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Kate Anderson may be a top-ten prospect by next year.
29:38 --> 29:41 [SPEAKER_00]: You could have Michael Arroyo shooting further up the system.
29:41 --> 29:44 [SPEAKER_00]: You could have Jorangelo shooting further up the system.
29:44 --> 29:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Ryan Sloan is trending toward being like a ridiculously high prospect.
29:49 --> 29:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Nikki Becker?
29:51 --> 29:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if he clicks, you heard with Joe said about him on our show.
29:54 --> 29:57 [SPEAKER_00]: If he's really gonna hit like crazy, he could be a prospect.
29:57 --> 30:09 [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, you know who we haven't even mentioned all year, but has been hitting down in the DSL, you're here, but Tista, like the beast, another guy that could come in and be a top-hundred prospect, because he's got all the tools in the world.
30:09 --> 30:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Like the Mariners churn these guys out, and in a few years, even if they were gonna trade a few of their prospects away right now away for all of fame, third basements, so playing like all of fame, third basements,
30:21 --> 30:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you do it because they'll replenish the farm.
30:24 --> 30:28 [SPEAKER_00]: They just had another draft where they took a couple of ridiculous prospects.
30:28 --> 30:31 [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, like, you would do this trade.
30:32 --> 30:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you would.
30:32 --> 30:33 [SPEAKER_00]: It's over there.
30:33 --> 30:38 [SPEAKER_01]: All the famed third basement in their prime don't come available for trade ever.
30:38 --> 30:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
30:39 --> 30:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, especially because, you know, I believe third base is the position with the fewest amount of Hall of Famers.
30:48 --> 30:51 [SPEAKER_00]: It's really hard to, yeah, because, again, we even second base.
30:51 --> 31:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we grew up in an era where third base was more of a premium position, because in our teenage years and early, twenties years, now mid, twenties years, we've seen all these third basements thrive, and a lot of them are going to end up going to Cooper's town.
31:04 --> 31:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Before that,
31:05 --> 31:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Third base wasn't a ridiculously loaded position for a lot of years.
31:09 --> 31:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Because again, we and all the people in our generation have gotten to grow up over the last ten, fifteen years now seeing J-RAM, Mani Machado, Nolan Aranado, et cetera, there's others.
31:21 --> 31:25 [SPEAKER_00]: But before that, it wasn't loaded over at the hot corner for a long time.
31:26 --> 31:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
31:26 --> 31:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you're getting it.
31:27 --> 31:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Like Scott Rowling got into the Hall of Fame as a third base man and he was really good and deserved it.
31:31 --> 31:33 [SPEAKER_00]: But like it was kind of few and far between.
31:35 --> 31:44 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, when you have the option to do this, you do it, and you say yes, and you say thank you to Cleveland Guardians for making their Hall of Fame third basement available.
31:45 --> 31:47 [SPEAKER_01]: He can still go into the Hall of Fame as a Cleveland Guardian.
31:48 --> 31:48 [SPEAKER_01]: That's totally fine.
31:49 --> 31:50 [SPEAKER_01]: He'll have to see on his cap.
31:50 --> 31:50 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
31:50 --> 31:52 [SPEAKER_01]: I really don't.
31:53 --> 31:54 [SPEAKER_01]: No, but you make the drink.
31:55 --> 31:55 [SPEAKER_01]: No, you know what I want to see?
31:56 --> 31:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Wins.
31:58 --> 31:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Wins.
31:59 --> 32:04 [SPEAKER_01]: If there's some Cleveland fans who find this, I would actually be curious if you want to leave us a comment on YouTube.
32:06 --> 32:08 [SPEAKER_01]: where you would actually start listening.
32:08 --> 32:13 [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like from the Cleveland side, if I threw out Colt, Johnny, and Lazz, they would hang up.
32:15 --> 32:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Like where would you start listening?
32:18 --> 32:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you also have to throw on pitching prospects?
32:21 --> 32:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Like does it have to be like those three and one of your arms?
32:26 --> 32:29 [SPEAKER_01]: any one of the like big three, I guess, could be.
32:29 --> 32:32 [SPEAKER_01]: That would make sense.
32:33 --> 32:41 [SPEAKER_01]: So it would take four prospects and yeah, so four top one hundred prospects for three and a half years and seventy five million dollars of Jose Ramirez.
32:42 --> 32:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
32:43 --> 32:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, and if any Guardian fans do find this look, we understand he is almost definitely not going to get traded, especially the fact that they're winning.
32:54 --> 32:55 [SPEAKER_00]: But gets what we're dreamers on this pod.
32:56 --> 33:12 [SPEAKER_00]: I sit around and talk about Kyle Tucker being a mariner all the time because he's going to be but yes we're going to flow out every possible ideas we lead up to the trade deadline especially because we've had a lot of people asking us hey like in a world where Jose Ramirez could get dealt what would it look like so yes we're sitting here talking about it
33:13 --> 33:24 [SPEAKER_01]: And also that package is like starting like startlingly close to the one Soto package who had a similar amount of control is also a Hall of Fame caliber player.
33:24 --> 33:27 [SPEAKER_01]: And you could argue J-Rim has more tools than one Soto does.
33:28 --> 33:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And he'd get a similar package being almost being what eight years older than Soto when he was traded.
33:35 --> 33:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, actually, I think it's older than that.
33:36 --> 33:38 [SPEAKER_00]: I think it would have been ten years older.
33:38 --> 33:40 [SPEAKER_00]: So do I think with Sony three when you got traded?
33:41 --> 33:42 [SPEAKER_00]: So he was twenty three.
33:42 --> 33:44 [SPEAKER_01]: So nine years.
33:45 --> 33:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
33:45 --> 33:56 [SPEAKER_01]: But remember, if you like, if you add up all the prospect value, the nationals essentially got three top ten prospects and Robert Hassel who was the top forty prospect, right?
33:56 --> 33:57 [SPEAKER_01]: That sounds right.
33:58 --> 33:59 [SPEAKER_01]: The Mariners here would be giving up
34:01 --> 34:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, what?
34:02 --> 34:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Three top fifty prospects and, I mean, it depends which pitching prospect it is.
34:07 --> 34:10 [SPEAKER_01]: It could be four top fifty prospects.
34:10 --> 34:12 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's not too different at that point.
34:12 --> 34:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Before we talk about the next Guardian, a couple of guys that might be a little bit more realistic than Jram, even though Jram would be an absolute dream.
34:20 --> 34:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I would give up everything I have to my name to get Jose Ramirez on the team.
34:23 --> 34:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll make that very clear.
34:24 --> 34:27 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll get everything up that I own to have Jram be a Mariner.
34:28 --> 34:28 [SPEAKER_00]: However,
34:29 --> 34:42 [SPEAKER_00]: There are a couple of guys that will be a little bit more realistic, but since you bring up the Soto trade, here's just a little thought off the rip that I had that's slightly off topic, but in case anybody's curious, I just thought I'd bring it out, maybe people are curious where my mind runs in terms of baseball.
34:43 --> 34:48 [SPEAKER_00]: How close are James Wood and one Soto's careers gonna be by the end of their careers?
34:51 --> 34:54 [SPEAKER_00]: In terms of overall, like, if
34:55 --> 34:57 [SPEAKER_00]: We've seen one year so far, James Wood.
34:57 --> 34:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, okay, one and a half year.
34:59 --> 35:02 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, really one year because it's been happier this year and like happier last year.
35:03 --> 35:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I mean, the way he's hitting, I mean, he is trending in a direction that is pretty ridiculous.
35:14 --> 35:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I'd feel more comfortable answering this question in like two years.
35:18 --> 35:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Because the thing that Soto did, for example, because he was a very young prospect when he came up, he came up at, uh, nineteen.
35:25 --> 35:29 [SPEAKER_01]: He essentially repeated his season twice at age nineteen and twenty.
35:30 --> 35:34 [SPEAKER_01]: And then had a nice shortened, shortened twenty twenty season.
35:34 --> 35:40 [SPEAKER_01]: And then when bananas in twenty twenty one, where he like, he did this, you know, progression.
35:41 --> 35:43 [SPEAKER_01]: We haven't seen James would do that progression yet.
35:43 --> 35:47 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I'm going to say right now Soto would have a better career.
35:48 --> 35:50 [SPEAKER_00]: And what obviously strikes out a lot more than Soto does.
35:51 --> 35:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Now, he's so young that he has plenty of time.
35:54 --> 35:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Woods, twenty two.
35:55 --> 36:00 [SPEAKER_00]: He does strike out twenty eight percent of the time right now where Soto does not strike out period.
36:00 --> 36:04 [SPEAKER_00]: But Wood draws a lot of walks the way Soto does.
36:05 --> 36:10 [SPEAKER_00]: So he's walking about fourteen percent of the time and then you factor in all the power and you factor in the hitter he is.
36:11 --> 36:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we probably need more of a sample size, but the fact we're starting to have our brains like
36:18 --> 36:21 [SPEAKER_00]: think in and our gears turning about how close can these guys be as players.
36:22 --> 36:24 [SPEAKER_00]: It speaks volumes to James Wood.
36:24 --> 36:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll say that much.
36:25 --> 36:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's the big question is James Wood can a garner a trade package like what's so caught for the nationals if they're not going to pay him.
36:32 --> 36:35 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's on that pace right now.
36:35 --> 36:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you what, the nationals offered so to a four hundred and forty million dollars.
36:39 --> 36:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's say James Wood does this season two more times after this.
36:44 --> 36:46 [SPEAKER_01]: The number is going to be higher than four forty.
36:48 --> 37:07 [SPEAKER_00]: the stones on one photo is crazy the fact that at like twenty two twenty three years old he turned down four hundred forty million dollars that Scott Boris told him no you're not taking this and then actually having it pay off where he got himself an extra three hundred twenty five million dollars in the contract is nuts
37:09 --> 37:11 [SPEAKER_01]: I think the best comment there is what they'll get traded for.
37:12 --> 37:13 [SPEAKER_00]: To be honest.
37:13 --> 37:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.
37:14 --> 37:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Let me ask you this again.
37:15 --> 37:16 [SPEAKER_00]: We're recording this here on Monday.
37:17 --> 37:17 [SPEAKER_00]: So we don't know yet.
37:18 --> 37:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Kate Anderson's supposed to have his introductory Mariners press conference on Tuesday down at the ballpark.
37:23 --> 37:24 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be down there for it.
37:25 --> 37:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Are we going to see?
37:27 --> 37:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Are we going to see Scotty Boy down there?
37:30 --> 37:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Wouldn't he be with Ethan?
37:33 --> 37:35 [SPEAKER_00]: They can have press conferences at different times.
37:35 --> 37:35 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
37:35 --> 37:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.
37:36 --> 37:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Have they scheduled Ethan Holidays press conference?
37:38 --> 37:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.
37:39 --> 37:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I have no idea.
37:40 --> 37:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Then again, thinking more about it, obviously Scott Boris has so many people working underneath him that Cade may have an agent that he works more directly with Boris Corp rather than Scott Boris himself.
37:52 --> 37:56 [SPEAKER_00]: So I wonder if it's just going to be the guy that represents Cade that would be though.
37:56 --> 37:57 [SPEAKER_00]: That would make sense.
37:58 --> 38:02 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not impossible if they do have introductory press conferences on different days.
38:02 --> 38:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I could see Scott Boris traveling around.
38:05 --> 38:08 [SPEAKER_01]: But then again, Scott Boris also has a lot of big leakers.
38:08 --> 38:09 [SPEAKER_01]: He tends to as well.
38:10 --> 38:11 [SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, it's not impossible.
38:11 --> 38:13 [SPEAKER_01]: I'd say odds are he won't be there.
38:13 --> 38:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I'll put it at fifteen percent chances there.
38:17 --> 38:20 [SPEAKER_00]: For those who didn't know, Kate Anderson is a Scott Boris client.
38:20 --> 38:21 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's why we're wondering.
38:21 --> 38:24 [SPEAKER_00]: And as we know, Scott Boris and the Mariners are buddies for life.
38:24 --> 38:27 [SPEAKER_00]: They're thunder buddies for life as they say in Ted.
38:27 --> 38:29 [SPEAKER_00]: So the fiasir.
38:29 --> 38:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Are we getting them on the mic?
38:32 --> 38:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, we can try.
38:33 --> 38:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure they'll say no.
38:34 --> 38:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, we can shoot our shot.
38:38 --> 38:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, are we going to have to break them away from all the, all the, uh, warm pleasantries between him and the Mariners?
38:46 --> 38:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it actually would be refreshing for him.
38:50 --> 38:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, maybe you don't think he's going to be standing there and buttering everybody up with the M's.
38:56 --> 39:03 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like maybe if he's there, I'm sure he will be trying to get his client paid.
39:05 --> 39:06 [SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
39:06 --> 39:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Scott Boris probably wouldn't have much beef with the Mariners if, you know, they paid his clients.
39:11 --> 39:12 [SPEAKER_01]: They paid his client.
39:12 --> 39:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, yes.
39:14 --> 39:24 [SPEAKER_01]: And Scott also sits there and probably thinks, well, if Kate answered, Kate Anderson pitches and Seattle for six seasons, there's a good chance he's going to make a lot of money because the park itself will help him pitch well.
39:24 --> 39:25 [SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
39:25 --> 39:26 [SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
39:26 --> 39:28 [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like a win-win for me.
39:28 --> 39:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, for first Scott, that's probably what it comes down to to be honest with you.
39:32 --> 39:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Scott Boris, I'm sure we have less internal issues with the Mariners.
39:37 --> 39:40 [SPEAKER_00]: If they pay his clients.
39:40 --> 39:42 [SPEAKER_00]: But the Mariners don't really do that.
39:42 --> 39:49 [SPEAKER_01]: The one former client of his that signed a big contract with the Mariners was not his client when he signed it.
39:49 --> 39:51 [SPEAKER_01]: So no, that would be one Cal Rally.
39:52 --> 39:52 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
39:53 --> 39:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to our next guy, Lyle.
39:55 --> 39:55 [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
39:55 --> 39:57 [SPEAKER_01]: The next option here with the Guardians.
39:59 --> 40:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Do we want to stay on the offensive side of the ball or switch gears?
40:03 --> 40:04 [SPEAKER_00]: You need to be a Stanley offensive son.
40:05 --> 40:06 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
40:06 --> 40:16 [SPEAKER_00]: So how about Steven Kwan, which I know sounds crazy, but if you read Jeff Parsons, trade deadline article and it's updated version of it that he put out on ESPN.com here on Monday.
40:17 --> 40:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Steven Kwan is high on that list.
40:21 --> 40:28 [SPEAKER_00]: And while his odds of getting traded are low, it is still outlined as a possibility.
40:28 --> 40:33 [SPEAKER_00]: So because it's a possibility, yeah, we're going to sit here and wonder, could the Mariners pull off a trade for Stephen Cuan?
40:36 --> 40:43 [SPEAKER_01]: See, this is this idea here with Stephen Cuan is
40:47 --> 41:08 [SPEAKER_01]: How would I describe this one because this isn't he's not the best player on the team, but he's like the exact exact type of player you You wouldn't want to trade Because he's valuable in so many areas which is why it would be kind of confusing if they were to move him, but if they did move him I'm not talking like it's gonna be a J-Ramp package
41:10 --> 41:11 [SPEAKER_01]: but it would be pretty expensive.
41:11 --> 41:14 [SPEAKER_01]: It would be a portion of a J-Ramp package, you out there in a choir room.
41:15 --> 41:19 [SPEAKER_01]: There's the fit question with Stephen Quan, but I'm gonna be totally honest.
41:19 --> 41:23 [SPEAKER_01]: The mayor's could probably use a good defensive outfielder, right next to Julio Rodriguez.
41:24 --> 41:28 [SPEAKER_01]: So I have no real complaint with them sticking a Stephen Quan out there.
41:28 --> 41:35 [SPEAKER_01]: I think we floated this idea to like a fan today when we're at the ballpark and it's like, is his offense a profile gonna fit at T-Mobile Park?
41:36 --> 41:36 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, yeah.
41:37 --> 41:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not, maybe his offense will take a little bit of a dip in the park, whatever power he comes across might not translate really, but he's a plus defender, he walks, doesn't strike out a lot, the Mariners have made it clear they value not striking out as much.
41:54 --> 41:57 [SPEAKER_01]: So this kind of kind of works there.
41:57 --> 42:01 [SPEAKER_01]: But this should be a guy given that he's only twenty seven years old and plays every day for the Guardians.
42:02 --> 42:06 [SPEAKER_01]: You would need to make the Guardians pick up the phone for him.
42:07 --> 42:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Like that's pretty clear.
42:08 --> 42:11 [SPEAKER_00]: What is Evans really decline in the park?
42:11 --> 42:14 [SPEAKER_00]: He's he's not a guy that's profile is built on power because of that.
42:15 --> 42:16 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't really think much would change.
42:17 --> 42:18 [SPEAKER_00]: That's not as Stephen Quann is.
42:18 --> 42:20 [SPEAKER_00]: He hits he's got six homers this year.
42:20 --> 42:22 [SPEAKER_00]: He hits maybe ten a year.
42:22 --> 42:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I think his whole game is
42:24 --> 42:30 [SPEAKER_00]: He has an incredible approach, walks doesn't punch out, sprays the ball over the field, and plays good defense.
42:31 --> 42:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't really think that's a team mobile park issue.
42:33 --> 42:34 [SPEAKER_01]: So he hits a lot of singles.
42:34 --> 42:39 [SPEAKER_01]: He's not a huge doubles hitter either, but team mobile park suppresses everything but home runs.
42:39 --> 42:42 [SPEAKER_01]: So to answer your question, yes, his offense would go down.
42:44 --> 42:45 [SPEAKER_00]: I think you'd be all right.
42:45 --> 42:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be that worried about it.
42:46 --> 42:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Also, like my network, it might not be a huge step, but you're talking about suppressing doubles because line drives stay up in the air at team, while we're parking at caught.
42:55 --> 43:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Stephen Quans not like roping one hundred and fifteen mile an hour doubles that hang up in the gap.
43:01 --> 43:03 [SPEAKER_00]: He hits a lot of balls on the ground.
43:03 --> 43:05 [SPEAKER_00]: He hits it down the line.
43:05 --> 43:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, he'll hit short line drives into the gap.
43:08 --> 43:11 [SPEAKER_00]: He's not like, he's not like destroying baseballs.
43:11 --> 43:12 [SPEAKER_00]: but he is really good.
43:13 --> 43:16 [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think I wouldn't be worried about his offense that much in the park to be honest.
43:17 --> 43:22 [SPEAKER_01]: And I wouldn't worry, I wouldn't not trade for him because I'd be worried that his offense would fall off.
43:22 --> 43:24 [SPEAKER_01]: That's not how I would approach Stephen Cuan because
43:25 --> 43:33 [SPEAKER_01]: his that he is so valuable in a lot of other aspects of his game that you can justify it a little bit more.
43:33 --> 43:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Randy Rosarina, for example, like he's going to need to hit to be valuable because he doesn't offer as much value in other facets of his game.
43:42 --> 43:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Steven Quahn, based running, walking, defense, arm, like it's all there.
43:48 --> 43:51 [SPEAKER_01]: The only thing he really can't do is play center, but he plays a really good left.
43:52 --> 43:55 [SPEAKER_01]: and left field defense is someone valuable.
43:56 --> 44:08 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, if the guardians could do, if they fell out of it a little bit, you know, a buyer sell, if they were to have Stephen Juan, if they still thought they would contend next year, maybe not.
44:09 --> 44:21 [SPEAKER_01]: But if the mayor sort of look at it and he was available, like this is the kind of guy you would want that sort of just, we talk about raising the floor, Stephen Juan raises the floor of what you can do as a baseball team because of everything he does.
44:22 --> 44:26 [SPEAKER_00]: I think the only question in terms of fit is how you maneuver around everybody else.
44:26 --> 44:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Because if you trade for Stephen Kwan, I think you have to put him in left field because he's so good in left field and it's the position that is so catered for him.
44:35 --> 44:38 [SPEAKER_00]: So now it becomes more about what do you do with Randy, which look.
44:39 --> 44:39 [SPEAKER_00]: It's up to me.
44:40 --> 44:44 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure Randy enjoys playing the outfield and you can still mix them in there if you really want to on certain days.
44:45 --> 44:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Like Randy can start taking a lot of DH days.
44:47 --> 44:48 [SPEAKER_00]: That's fine with me.
44:49 --> 44:50 [SPEAKER_01]: It is fine with you.
44:50 --> 44:53 [SPEAKER_01]: It might not be fine with Randy and here's why.
44:53 --> 44:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Randy hasn't signed an extension yet or another free agent contract after his arbitration runs out.
44:59 --> 45:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he wants to go into free agency as a DH.
45:03 --> 45:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to try and stay in left field as long as possible.
45:08 --> 45:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's fine, and that's what he should do as a player, but objectively, he still's not playing great defense.
45:15 --> 45:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's still a struggle for him.
45:17 --> 45:20 [SPEAKER_00]: He's gotten negative two outs above average, he's in the twenty-six percentile of baseball.
45:21 --> 45:29 [SPEAKER_01]: and you're right, but if you want to sign Randy to an extension, it would really help if you kept him happy.
45:30 --> 45:31 [SPEAKER_01]: That's all I would say.
45:31 --> 45:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think the Mariners are going to do that?
45:34 --> 45:35 [SPEAKER_00]: I just look at Randy Arroz Arena.
45:35 --> 45:37 [SPEAKER_00]: It just feels very against their MO.
45:37 --> 45:41 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not even necessarily saying that I would be opposed to it personally.
45:42 --> 45:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying that for a thirty two year old when he's going to he'll be a free agent at thirty two.
45:46 --> 45:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So this is the example I'm using.
45:48 --> 45:55 [SPEAKER_00]: A thirty two year old who's not a very good defender that's only playing a corner spot and is very streaky as a hitter.
45:55 --> 46:00 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know to me that doesn't really feel like the guy the Mariners are going to give an extension to.
46:00 --> 46:06 [SPEAKER_00]: So I've always thought of Randy as being the player that you'll just let him play out his contract here.
46:06 --> 46:08 [SPEAKER_00]: And if that's the case, the movie where you have to move him.
46:09 --> 46:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he could play a little bit of right field.
46:10 --> 46:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
46:12 --> 46:14 [SPEAKER_01]: There are two things that would happen with Randy Rosarina.
46:14 --> 46:16 [SPEAKER_01]: He's either getting traded or he's signing an extension.
46:17 --> 46:17 [SPEAKER_01]: You know that.
46:19 --> 46:21 [SPEAKER_00]: He actually feels like a guy that might just let him play out his deal.
46:22 --> 46:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And they could get a comp pick if he runs out as deal, but I do think they would, you know, as of right now, given that he's the second best hitter on this team, you want him in this line up as long as possible.
46:34 --> 46:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, sure.
46:34 --> 46:41 [SPEAKER_01]: So as a fit, the DH works and the team is better if you put quann in the outfield and you put Randy Rosarina at DH.
46:41 --> 46:42 [SPEAKER_01]: That decision won't have to be made.
46:42 --> 46:46 [SPEAKER_01]: If they're comfortable making that decision, then this is a lot easier.
46:46 --> 46:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I'd be curious, could Steven quann play right field?
46:49 --> 46:50 [SPEAKER_01]: How do assume so, right?
46:50 --> 46:52 [SPEAKER_00]: I would rather just move Randy to write.
46:52 --> 46:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Randy's played eighty-seven games in right field in his career.
46:56 --> 46:57 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not a ton, but he has done it.
46:58 --> 47:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Stephen Quann is one of the game's best left fielders.
47:02 --> 47:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't mess with that.
47:03 --> 47:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't leave Randy who's not a good defender in left field to move Stephen Quann elsewhere.
47:08 --> 47:12 [SPEAKER_00]: You're trading for Stephen Quann in this situation because of the value he already possesses.
47:12 --> 47:13 [SPEAKER_00]: So maximize that.
47:13 --> 47:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Put him in left field.
47:14 --> 47:16 [SPEAKER_00]: You can have Randy de H a few days.
47:16 --> 47:19 [SPEAKER_00]: You can play right field a few days and you work it in that way.
47:20 --> 47:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm putting Stephen quantum I feel.
47:22 --> 47:24 [SPEAKER_00]: We're Stephen quantum batting in the order.
47:25 --> 47:25 [SPEAKER_00]: One.
47:28 --> 47:28 [SPEAKER_00]: One.
47:28 --> 47:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Easy decision.
47:29 --> 47:32 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I without hesitation for me.
47:32 --> 47:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Why?
47:32 --> 47:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Where's he heading for you?
47:34 --> 47:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Are we doing quantum one, JP two, Cal three, Randy four?
47:40 --> 47:41 [SPEAKER_01]: You put Julio five.
47:41 --> 47:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do that.
47:42 --> 47:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
47:42 --> 47:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I think I'd rather do that.
47:44 --> 47:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
47:44 --> 47:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I think the two on-base guys in front of, um, for the cow would be great and Randy.
47:49 --> 47:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
47:49 --> 48:00 [SPEAKER_01]: So you do on-base, less pop, uh, or sorry, least amount of pop, on-base slightly more pop, on-base all the pop in the world, and then Randy.
48:01 --> 48:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and if the Mariners decided to stick with JP and one and put quannet to, that's fine too.
48:06 --> 48:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna throw my hands up in the air one way or another with that.
48:11 --> 48:14 [SPEAKER_00]: But the point being, if you trade for Stephen Quann, he's hitting toward the top of the lineup.
48:15 --> 48:18 [SPEAKER_00]: And then you mix some other things around as you go.
48:18 --> 48:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Now, there is something to be said about the pockets you'd set in your lineup and how you break up some lefties a little bit.
48:25 --> 48:28 [SPEAKER_00]: You may then in that scenario,
48:31 --> 48:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, see, now think in this out, because again, like if you have like coal, young in the nine spot and then JP and then Kwan and then Cal, I know Cal's a switch hitter, but that is a lot of lefties in a row.
48:43 --> 48:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it wouldn't matter.
48:44 --> 48:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that's just what you do, because again, those are the best hitters.
48:47 --> 48:51 [SPEAKER_01]: If you have all those good players, then I think that's a semi decent problem.
48:52 --> 48:57 [SPEAKER_01]: And you'd figure out, and I don't, I think they'd probably shuffle the lineup around a bit depending on who's on the mound.
48:57 --> 49:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe you, maybe you move JP,
49:01 --> 49:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Hitch, would you hit JP cleanup?
49:03 --> 49:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't hit him like five or six.
49:06 --> 49:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Would you, or I sorry, I have fifth because Randy needs to hit cleanup.
49:08 --> 49:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
49:09 --> 49:14 [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't move Randy up to the two spot and you do quan Randy cow.
49:14 --> 49:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that I actually like and then he could put Julio for JP five or JP four, Julio five.
49:19 --> 49:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
49:20 --> 49:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I think you do that.
49:22 --> 49:24 [SPEAKER_01]: And that breaks up the lineup a little bit and makes it work.
49:25 --> 49:29 [SPEAKER_01]: How much of that Jram trade package would you need for quan?
49:31 --> 49:32 [SPEAKER_00]: I would say.
49:34 --> 49:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Two thirds of it.
49:35 --> 49:36 [SPEAKER_00]: That's on right.
49:36 --> 49:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Really.
49:36 --> 49:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it might be closer to the full full thing.
49:39 --> 49:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Really?
49:40 --> 49:40 [SPEAKER_01]: No.
49:40 --> 49:41 [SPEAKER_01]: J Ram's a Hall of Famer.
49:43 --> 49:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Steven Quan has three and a half years of control under arbitration and it's twenty seven.
49:52 --> 49:57 [SPEAKER_00]: To fair point, I still just look at him and say, look, for as good as he is.
49:57 --> 50:01 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is a guy that strikes out eight percent of the time.
50:01 --> 50:04 [SPEAKER_00]: His approach is so good, so good.
50:06 --> 50:09 [SPEAKER_00]: But when you don't have power, that does diminish some trade value.
50:11 --> 50:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Jay Rams was three four top one hundred prospects, three in the top fifty.
50:17 --> 50:17 [SPEAKER_01]: What if I just said,
50:19 --> 50:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, two, two top fifty and one top one hundred.
50:24 --> 50:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let me say this.
50:24 --> 50:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Quanna is two and a half years or control not three and a half.
50:27 --> 50:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
50:28 --> 50:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
50:29 --> 50:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
50:29 --> 50:30 [SPEAKER_01]: So for two and a half.
50:30 --> 50:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
50:30 --> 50:32 [SPEAKER_01]: So we'll knock another prospect out of there.
50:32 --> 50:34 [SPEAKER_01]: How about a top fifty and another top one hundred?
50:35 --> 50:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
50:36 --> 50:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
50:36 --> 50:37 [SPEAKER_00]: That sounds about right.
50:37 --> 50:39 [SPEAKER_00]: So that is about two thirds of what we said.
50:39 --> 50:40 [SPEAKER_00]: The J-R-M package would be right.
50:41 --> 51:06 [SPEAKER_00]: and the top fifty prop need to be on a higher end just to just to make them listen again for two years if we check back on this in a year that price goes down yeah but yeah that sounds about right maybe it's a top fifty prospect and two other lower end top a hundred prospects for example maybe one of your blue chip guys and two of your guys closer to the seven to ten range but you know what like
51:07 --> 51:12 [SPEAKER_00]: I would make that happen too, because Stephen Quann is like a walking three and a half four-wind player.
51:12 --> 51:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes higher.
51:14 --> 51:15 [SPEAKER_00]: That is valuable.
51:15 --> 51:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
51:16 --> 51:24 [SPEAKER_01]: If Johnny didn't get hurt, I thought it would be super interesting if you were to pitch the guardians on saying, like, we love this prospect.
51:24 --> 51:26 [SPEAKER_01]: We think so highly of him.
51:26 --> 51:29 [SPEAKER_01]: He will take Quann spot in two years.
51:30 --> 51:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And we think he would be as productive for you, but we need Quann now.
51:34 --> 51:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
51:34 --> 51:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, for those curious, Stephen Quans F. Four by year so far, four point seven is a rookie in twenty two, three point one in twenty three, four point two last year, and now sitting here in twenty twenty five's two point one.
51:48 --> 51:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, he's on pace for about another four win season.
51:52 --> 51:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Stephen Quans is really, really good.
51:55 --> 51:57 [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, he's made back to back all star games.
51:58 --> 52:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about the last trade target here, Lyle.
52:01 --> 52:02 [SPEAKER_01]: We're getting a little juicy.
52:03 --> 52:05 [SPEAKER_01]: as if J. Ramles and Juicy enough.
52:05 --> 52:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get into the Guardian's bullpen.
52:07 --> 52:15 [SPEAKER_01]: And let's talk about another guy that has been floated out there that if the Guardians decide to sell, they can get some pretty insane value on.
52:15 --> 52:17 [SPEAKER_01]: And that's one Emmanuel Klausay.
52:18 --> 52:22 [SPEAKER_01]: A manual class at this time last year didn't feel like he was on the trade block.
52:23 --> 52:25 [SPEAKER_01]: He was clearly the best reliever in baseball.
52:25 --> 52:28 [SPEAKER_01]: It has not been quite the same results this year.
52:28 --> 52:30 [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of the underlying numbers are pretty similar.
52:30 --> 52:36 [SPEAKER_01]: He's still one of the five best relievers in all of baseball and he still would net an insane package back.
52:37 --> 52:40 [SPEAKER_01]: What would you be willing to part with to get a reliever of this caliber?
52:43 --> 52:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Man, that makes your bullpen ridiculous.
52:47 --> 52:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I get if some of you were a little hesitant on class a himself because of the postseason he had last year.
52:54 --> 53:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm still taking the gamble that he is going to be a manual class A and he is going to be absolutely dominant.
53:01 --> 53:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think it's going to be the trade package level that we just talked about for Jram and Kwan because again, it's not an everyday position player.
53:07 --> 53:09 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not a star position player.
53:09 --> 53:10 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a reliever.
53:10 --> 53:11 [SPEAKER_00]: He throws one inning a night.
53:12 --> 53:14 [SPEAKER_00]: It would cost you real prospects.
53:14 --> 53:18 [SPEAKER_00]: It would cost you guys out of your top ten and guys in the top a hundred, but
53:20 --> 53:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe this is one guy that's on like the lower end of the top fifty and then another top a hundred prospect.
53:31 --> 53:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I actually think this is similar to the Edwin Diaz trade.
53:35 --> 53:36 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
53:37 --> 53:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so there's at that time, though, just to just to play off that.
53:45 --> 53:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Sixtieth-ish prospect in baseball.
53:47 --> 53:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Done was toward the lower end of the top a hundred and then it was two fringe big leaders again.
53:53 --> 53:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Gerson Batista Anthony Swarzac who again was just a long time veteran.
53:57 --> 54:01 [SPEAKER_00]: J. Bruce, long time veteran didn't didn't have much at that point.
54:01 --> 54:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Well actually that's not true.
54:03 --> 54:04 [SPEAKER_00]: We had a decent half a year in Seattle.
54:04 --> 54:04 [SPEAKER_00]: I think I traded.
54:05 --> 54:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, if you're talking about the prospects, like I don't know if it's going to be true like top twenty guys you deal away.
54:15 --> 54:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, but remember with that, remember with the Diaz deal, Knoan about sixty million dollars went to the Metz.
54:24 --> 54:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Just remember that.
54:25 --> 54:28 [SPEAKER_01]: That brought down the return of what the Mariners got back.
54:29 --> 54:32 [SPEAKER_01]: If they might have just eaten the money, they could have gotten more back for Edwin Diaz.
54:32 --> 54:34 [SPEAKER_01]: But, well, when are we ever talked about that before?
54:35 --> 54:36 [SPEAKER_01]: When have we ever discussed that?
54:37 --> 54:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, remember when Jeff McNeill was part of this trade?
54:42 --> 54:43 [SPEAKER_01]: part of that trade.
54:44 --> 54:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and you had to have people with the meds like shut it all the way down.
54:48 --> 54:57 [SPEAKER_01]: If Kenos and in that deal, or he was in that deal in the meds took on no money, like you'd probably get Jeff McNeil back, right?
54:57 --> 54:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Cause then the value matches up.
54:59 --> 55:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Like we have this unbelievable all world bullpen arm, and we're eating all this money for Kenos and giving him to you for free.
55:06 --> 55:07 [SPEAKER_01]: We want Jeff McNeil.
55:08 --> 55:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Jeff McNeil is an all star second basement.
55:11 --> 55:11 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a batting champ.
55:14 --> 55:16 [SPEAKER_01]: So you think this would cost big league players?
55:16 --> 55:26 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it would cost big league players, but I do think it might cost you one of your higher end prospects, not towards the bottom half of the top fifty and the top half of the top fifty.
55:28 --> 55:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not cool.
55:29 --> 55:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not cool, because knowing the Mariners, they're not trading cold Emerson for a reliever.
55:35 --> 55:39 [SPEAKER_01]: But after him, like if you want a manual class A,
55:41 --> 55:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what it was cost.
55:43 --> 55:44 [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe all of a sudden you get aggressive.
55:44 --> 56:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Then if you tell Cleveland, hey, we're not going to trade you called Emerson, but we'll listen on all of our other guys, because making a trade like that, if you're the Mariners, again, how we talked about elite bullpens can change your entire postseason outlook.
56:02 --> 56:09 [SPEAKER_00]: It can think about the Mariners, like for those of you thinking about not wanting to give up prospects and not wanting to give up prospects for a reliever.
56:10 --> 56:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're entitled to your opinion, I would just sit there and ask you to think about the idea of the Mariners riding into October with this rotation, which all the struggles they've had.
56:19 --> 56:21 [SPEAKER_00]: You know how talented they are.
56:22 --> 56:33 [SPEAKER_00]: And the idea of riding this rotation and then following it up with Andre's Munoz, a manual class A, Matt Brash, Gabe Spire, potentially Brandon Garcia too.
56:33 --> 56:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, if he pitches the way people expect him to pitch, I mean, that full pen
56:40 --> 56:45 [SPEAKER_00]: But there's not another bullpen in baseball that can hold a candle to the Mariners if they had a bullpen like that.
56:46 --> 56:50 [SPEAKER_00]: With those four guys who were established, especially just monios, classy and brash alone.
56:50 --> 56:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody matches up with that.
56:52 --> 56:53 [SPEAKER_00]: That's insane.
56:54 --> 56:57 [SPEAKER_00]: That is like you could win a world series that way.
56:57 --> 57:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Even if you don't ridiculously upgrade your offense.
57:01 --> 57:04 [SPEAKER_00]: So I would think long and hard before you're so sure about saying no to trading for a reliever.
57:05 --> 57:11 [SPEAKER_00]: about what you're willing to give up, because that can really change things, especially because class A has control too.
57:12 --> 57:23 [SPEAKER_01]: You would have to convince the Mariners of this, though, Lyle, I truly think, because at of all the ideas we've thrown out here today, this is the least on brand for them, for how they operate of all of them.
57:24 --> 57:27 [SPEAKER_01]: They don't go after top level relievers.
57:28 --> 57:29 [SPEAKER_01]: In any sense, they don't sign them.
57:29 --> 57:30 [SPEAKER_01]: They don't trade for them.
57:31 --> 57:44 [SPEAKER_01]: They believe so much in their development of arms in the bullpen, but they don't see the value in going out and spending the prospect cash value on a manual class A. They don't see it.
57:45 --> 57:47 [SPEAKER_01]: So that's something they would have to get over to make this happen.
57:48 --> 57:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Like they would have to get over the mental block of losing a trade on a value sense because a manual class I pitch is sixty to seventy innings a year.
57:58 --> 58:06 [SPEAKER_01]: For guys that can potentially play every single day and be good baseball players at the big league level as position players, you know, a class I pitch is three times a week.
58:07 --> 58:24 [SPEAKER_01]: right you gonna have to get over that mental block if that what you want that's what you want I will say if they do that this will win the mariner's games if they get costs a leads will not be blown is often they will have more guys to lock the block the game down great myself pitches you need to get over it
58:25 --> 58:28 [SPEAKER_00]: You could have had it, you could have had it bats in the offseason.
58:28 --> 58:34 [SPEAKER_00]: You set a fifteen million dollar budget, handcuffing yourself to sign anybody, and chose to run out this offense.
58:34 --> 58:35 [SPEAKER_00]: So guess what?
58:36 --> 58:39 [SPEAKER_00]: You better identify talent and just put it on your roster at this deadline.
58:39 --> 58:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Go get the stars.
58:41 --> 58:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Right now, the biggest stars on this trade market are the relievers.
58:45 --> 58:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So I we get serious about some of these relievers that are out on the market.
58:49 --> 58:56 [SPEAKER_01]: And everything we just said for Klausay, if Kades Smith were to be available, all the same applies to him every single word.
58:56 --> 58:57 [SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
58:58 --> 59:02 [SPEAKER_00]: And I know Kades Smith is not as much of a household name to the general fan that a manual Klausay is.
59:03 --> 59:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Kades Smith is ridiculous.
59:05 --> 59:05 [SPEAKER_00]: He is ridiculous.
59:06 --> 59:07 [SPEAKER_00]: His stuff is so good.
59:07 --> 59:09 [SPEAKER_00]: He's a top-tenrely run sport.
59:10 --> 59:18 [SPEAKER_00]: What he's done a few years, he is a top ten reliever in the sport and he's cemented himself in that in that discussion every day of the week.
59:19 --> 59:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Now you might actually have to give up more for Kate Smith because he's got more club control than class A, but yes, all the same ideas apply.
59:28 --> 59:33 [SPEAKER_01]: So be an interesting conversation to have if the Mariners go out and they want to acquire one of those top level relievers.
59:33 --> 59:37 [SPEAKER_01]: And we know they love acquiring players with multiple years of control.
59:37 --> 59:43 [SPEAKER_01]: That's why these guys, if they're going to be available, make more sense than someone like Orion Hellsley, right?
59:43 --> 59:46 [SPEAKER_01]: The Cardinals are falling out of it a little bit, right?
59:46 --> 59:47 [SPEAKER_01]: They've been struggling.
59:48 --> 59:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Sounds right.
59:50 --> 01:00:06 [SPEAKER_01]: So the Cardinals, uh, my assumption on the Cardinals is right, you know, Hell'sly almost certainly feels like he'd be available and I'd love him to be a Mariner, but the Mariners went out and they acquired a rental reliever last year and it bit him in the ass with Jimmy Garcia when he got hurt.
01:00:07 --> 01:00:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Hell'sly, you know, they'd sit there, maybe sit there and think, oh, this could happen again.
01:00:11 --> 01:00:14 [SPEAKER_01]: So we don't want to give up the value of what it takes to go get that.
01:00:15 --> 01:00:19 [SPEAKER_01]: We'd rather get someone for multiple years and have all that value there for them instead.
01:00:19 --> 01:00:21 [SPEAKER_01]: But how are they going to make it work?
01:00:21 --> 01:00:26 [SPEAKER_01]: They do need to go out and get a reliever because the bullpen even with BG is still not good enough.
01:00:26 --> 01:00:27 [SPEAKER_01]: And they need, they need more.
01:00:28 --> 01:00:30 [SPEAKER_00]: The Cardinals are fifty two and forty nine.
01:00:30 --> 01:00:36 [SPEAKER_00]: They're four and six in their last ten games as we said here recording this and they're three and a half out.
01:00:36 --> 01:00:44 [SPEAKER_00]: So they're not playing great, but they'll probably have to lose a few more in the next ten days or so to fully commit to selling.
01:00:45 --> 01:00:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Like they probably need to be four and a half five out for you to convince that team that hey, we're not going to keep housing for the next two months.
01:00:52 --> 01:00:53 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll we'll we'll trade them away.
01:00:56 --> 01:00:58 [SPEAKER_01]: These next ten days are going to be very stressful.
01:00:59 --> 01:01:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Very stressful scoreboard watching.
01:01:01 --> 01:01:02 [SPEAKER_01]: We're sitting here talking pre recording.
01:01:03 --> 01:01:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Do we want the Astros of the Diamondbacks to win?
01:01:07 --> 01:01:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I think as we just talked this out, this post may be out on social media by the time you hear this, but we're just talking it through in real time here on Monday night.
01:01:15 --> 01:01:16 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that needs to be a social post for tomorrow.
01:01:17 --> 01:01:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Who are you rooting for in this series?
01:01:18 --> 01:01:19 [SPEAKER_00]: The Astros of the Diamondbacks.
01:01:19 --> 01:01:20 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
01:01:20 --> 01:01:21 [SPEAKER_00]: You might call this loser talk.
01:01:22 --> 01:01:28 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm rooting for the Astros because the Mariners are legitimately dependent on the Diamondbacks losing.
01:01:28 --> 01:01:30 [SPEAKER_00]: to make significant upgrades for their offense.
01:01:31 --> 01:01:32 [SPEAKER_00]: So yes, I'm sorry.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm rooting for the Astros to win and the Mariners just need to win games to somehow keep pace with them because you cannot afford.
01:01:40 --> 01:01:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Cannot afford to have the Diamondbacks win enough games where they say we're not going to sell Tuesday morning perhaps.
01:01:48 --> 01:01:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:01:49 --> 01:01:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:01:50 --> 01:01:51 [SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
01:01:51 --> 01:01:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Happy Trade Deadline season everybody where we sit here and root for the Houston Astros.
01:01:58 --> 01:02:00 [SPEAKER_00]: I kind of miss when the MLB draft was in June.
01:02:00 --> 01:02:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I got to tell you, because it gives you a lot more time to make trades.
01:02:03 --> 01:02:08 [SPEAKER_00]: All of a sudden now, it's like when the draft ends boom, you got two weeks to figure it out.
01:02:08 --> 01:02:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, as we sit here with about ten days to go, almost nothing's happened either.
01:02:13 --> 01:02:15 [SPEAKER_00]: So it's really, I mean,
01:02:16 --> 01:02:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe baseball likes this and this is what they wanted.
01:02:18 --> 01:02:24 [SPEAKER_00]: They wanted it to be more like NBA trade deadlines season where things go crazy in like a few days span.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:26 [SPEAKER_00]: This is kind of what happens in baseball now.
01:02:26 --> 01:02:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Everything happens in the final five days.
01:02:29 --> 01:02:31 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's going to be stressful.
01:02:32 --> 01:02:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm thinking I'm timing out from last year, right.
01:02:34 --> 01:02:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Last year, the deadline was still on Thursday, right?
01:02:38 --> 01:02:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Sounds right.
01:02:39 --> 01:02:46 [SPEAKER_01]: So if my math lines up, while Mariners could have a player by Friday, because that's when they got Randy.
01:02:47 --> 01:02:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Good, they need one.
01:02:48 --> 01:02:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:02:50 --> 01:02:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Extra episodes.
01:02:51 --> 01:02:56 [SPEAKER_01]: We need to be watching.
01:02:58 --> 01:03:00 [SPEAKER_01]: See, this is a little insight into my life.
01:03:00 --> 01:03:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I already made plans for Saturday.
01:03:03 --> 01:03:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see if the Mariners make me regret the plans or not.
01:03:06 --> 01:03:08 [SPEAKER_01]: They decide to trade on Saturday.
01:03:08 --> 01:03:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Here's a little insight into my life, and I've been fearing this since I started on the show eleven months ago, and I'm still fearing it now, which is what happens if I'm asleep in the afternoon, taking a nap, and a trade goes down.
01:03:22 --> 01:03:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I would be pissed.
01:03:24 --> 01:03:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
01:03:25 --> 01:03:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
01:03:25 --> 01:03:29 [SPEAKER_01]: I'll call you multiple times, maybe I just drive over to Kirkland.
01:03:30 --> 01:03:33 [SPEAKER_01]: smack something and wake you up shake me awake.
01:03:33 --> 01:03:47 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like yeah all of a sudden I fall asleep for let's say ninety minutes maybe two hours you wake up and all of a sudden you've got fifty unred texts because Gino's a mariner yeah or Gino's a Yankee tell that to god
01:03:47 --> 01:03:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, now I've been worrying about this since I started the show because I was worried about it happening in the offseason.
01:03:52 --> 01:03:57 [SPEAKER_00]: And once you got into November, December, every day, you didn't miss anything in the offseason.
01:03:57 --> 01:03:58 [SPEAKER_00]: You beat me to the punch line.
01:03:58 --> 01:04:00 [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't even let me get to the punch line.
01:04:00 --> 01:04:08 [SPEAKER_00]: And I was going to say, I would always worry all throughout November, December, in January when I take my nap in the afternoon and say, I'm going to miss something.
01:04:08 --> 01:04:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to be on top of the Mariners news.
01:04:10 --> 01:04:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And then well, they did absolutely nothing all winners.
01:04:12 --> 01:04:13 [SPEAKER_00]: So no, I didn't miss nothing.
01:04:15 --> 01:04:16 [SPEAKER_01]: But you might miss something now.
01:04:17 --> 01:04:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I might have to.
01:04:18 --> 01:04:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I think this is the, I think this is the perfect time to get you into coffee.
01:04:21 --> 01:04:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, obviously you're awake when they trade for a platoon that.
01:04:30 --> 01:04:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I think I'll be fine.
01:04:31 --> 01:04:36 [SPEAKER_00]: But if I were to get into coffee, it's not going to be from those loser fraudulent cowards from Starbucks.
01:04:36 --> 01:04:36 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you that.
01:04:40 --> 01:04:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Is that a good note to end the pod with?
01:04:42 --> 01:04:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is.
01:04:43 --> 01:04:45 [SPEAKER_01]: You just eliminated a potential big sponsor.
01:04:45 --> 01:04:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.
01:04:47 --> 01:04:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was never going to sell out and take Starbucks to the sponsor anyways.
01:04:50 --> 01:04:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So too bad, you can live without us.
01:04:52 --> 01:04:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm really, really, really proud.
